ABC's American Housewife Gets Full Season; Gilmore Girls "GilMORE the Merrier Binge-a-Thon" on UP
American Housewife, the critically acclaimed new Tuesday night comedy starring Katy Mixon, has been given a full-season pickup. This means the series will now have a full season of at least 22 episodes this year. Tuesday's No. 1 comedy this season in Total Viewers (7.7 million) and Adults 18-49 (2.4/8), ABC's American Housewife builds on its strong young-adult lead-in (The Middle) at 8:30 p.m. by 14% on average to rank a competitive No. 2 in its half-hour to NBC's The Voice. The new ABC comedy is improving its time period year to year by 2.1 million viewers and by 9% in Adults 18-49. American Housewife stars Katy Mixon as Katie Otto, Diedrich Bader as Greg Otto, Meg Donnelly as Taylor, Daniel DiMaggio as Oliver, Julia Butters as Anna-Kat, Carly Hughes as Angela and Ali Wong as Doris.
Head home to Stars Hollow for the holidays! UP TV, television's family-focused entertainment destination targeted to adults, announced that Sean Gunn, who plays Kirk Gleason on the award-winning fan-favorite family drama Gilmore Girls, will host the network's binge-a-thon of seasons one through seven of the series as his beloved character. The backdrop of the marathon is UP's GilMORE the Merrier Viewing House, which is a custom designed home environment that will showcase the ultimate in comfort and accessibility for super fans of the series as they view all 153 episodes. Prior to and throughout the seven-day event, UP will air fun and engaging spots hosted by Gunn's character that are loaded with practical guidance and tips on how to train for and "binge" your way through all of the episodes in perfect comfort. Special accommodations are required as this marathon is no sprint -- from coffee and Gilmore inspired snacks to fuel maximum viewing, to comfortable furniture and "best binging" clothes, to the newest LED Smart screen TVs located in every nook and cranny of the house, the GilMORE the Merrier Viewing House has it all!
Gilmore fans can watch every episode fully loaded with trivia pop-ups and commentary by popular podcast personalities the "Gilmore Guys" during UP's binge-a-thon. The network will also feature a watch and win sweepstakes featuring one prize every hour during the marathon plus ten grand prizes. UP will air Gilmore Girls starting with season one on Friday, Nov. 18 at 6 p.m. ET and ending with season seven on Friday, Nov. 25 at 3 a.m. ET.
