In October cable network GAC Family added some Sony Pictures Television classics to its line-up, as we mentioned, now they are adding one more series to the schedule! '80s family sitcom Who's the Boss? now joins the line-up as of today airing weekdays from 11am-2pm, replacing Silver Spoons, which is now off the line-up. Stay tuned for any further updates on GAC Family and if Silver Spoons will return anytime soon.
Ahead of its eighth and final season, the cast of the Emmy(R)-winning black-ish revealed the vibrant new key art to celebrate its farewell run. Paying homage to the very first season, the new art shows just how much the Johnsons have grown up in front of their fans for over eight years of beloved television. From its titular origins to the dialogue created from the "Juneteenth" episode and the many hard topics about race, politics and family, black-ish continues its legacy in its momentous final season, premiering Tuesday, Jan. 4 at 9:30PM on ABC, as we mentioned. For over eight years black-ish has taken a fun yet bold look at one man's determination to establish a sense of cultural identity for his family. The series has told stories that shine a light on current events through the lens of the Johnson family and, during the seventh season, they addressed the global pandemic, voting, systemic racism, and the movement for social justice and equality.
The series stars Anthony Anderson as Andre "Dre" Johnson, Tracee Ellis Ross as Rainbow Johnson, Yara Shahidi as Zoey Johnson, Marcus Scribner as Andre Johnson Jr., Miles Brown as Jack Johnson, Marsai Martin as Diane Johnson, Laurence Fishburne as Pops, Jenifer Lewis as Ruby, Peter Mackenzie as Mr. Stevens, Deon Cole as Charlie Telphy, Jeff Meacham as Josh and Katlyn Nichol as Olivia.

SitcomsOnline Digest: Netflix Orders Last Blockbuster Video Comedy Series; Party Down Revival Set at Starz
Welcome to SitcomsOnline Digest! There is a lot to cover this week, and we've got the highlights, including a comedy series about the last Blockbuster, a revival of a Starz series, and more. Let's get going!
HIGHLIGHTS FROM SITCOMSONLINE.COM AND AROUND THE WEB
- Even though Netflix is the one that delivered that (seemingly) final fatal blow to Blockbuster, they have now ordered a comedy series starring Randall Park about the last surviving store. (IGN)
- A premiere date has been set for How I Met Your Father. (Deadline)
- Party Down, a short-lived comedy series from a decade ago that is either very memorable to people or something they've never even heard of, is being revived over at Starz with most of the original cast intact. (TV Series Finale)
- The children of South Park are all grown up in the South Park: Post Covid special. (Deadline)
- Dave Frishberg, who wrote Schoolhouse Rock! songs including "I'm Just a Bill," has died. (Entertainment Weekly)
- Is TV news dead in America? A former New York Times CEO thinks so, as it is not evolving to audiences under the age of 60. (Deadline)
- Add this to your list of things you never quite saw coming: a Days of Our Lives Christmas movie that will. (TV Insider)
- One may have thought that Live in Front of a Studio Audience was done following the last "live" special in which the entire hour was interrupted with breaking news regarding the impeachment of Donald Trump, but they're trying again with remakes of episodes of Diff'rent Strokes and Facts of Life. (SitcomsOnline)
WEEKLY PLANNER (NOVEMBER 20 - NOVEMBER 26)
- Antenna TV is celebrating Thanksgiving weekend with every episode of Coach (unless, of course, your local affiliate preempts for pointless things like a simulcast of their news, in which case a few episodes will be missing).
- Decades has a Riptide binge this weekend.
- Columbo is leaving MeTV on Sunday, and in a rather unusual move by the network (which basically never airs special marathons of anything), they're actually airing a marathon of four episodes tomorrow.
- Saved by the Bell returns for a second season on Wednesday on Peacock.
- South Park: Post Covid Special debuts on Thursday on Paramount+.
- FXX, which seems to have abandoned all previous programming to become a 16 hour a day version of the Fox Sunday night lineup (the other 8 hours are filled with movies and informercials), is airing Thanksgiving themed episodes of these hits on Thursday.
- Speaking of FXX, they added Futurama last week, leaving American Dad! as the only major Fox Sunday night animated series not on the lineup... yet (and that may have something to do with TBS airing new episodes).
- In yet even more Fox animated comedy news (do we have enough of this today?), Adult Swim, oddly enough, is actually bringing King of the Hill back to their lineup starting Monday, sharing the series with new home FXX.

Fri-Yay: Sitcom Thanksgiving Episodes to Be Thankful For; Live in Front of a Studio Audience Returns Dec. 7 with The Facts of Life and Diff'rent Strokes
by Vincent
It's the season to be thankful, and one thing we are all grateful for is having a long weekend off from work to binge watch some TV show episodes. So what are the best sitcom Thanksgiving episodes? The obvious choice is the Friends Thanksgiving episodes, the gold standard of sitcom Thanksgiving. But there are also some other classic Thanksgiving episodes that deserve recognition as well.
New Girl was another "young professionals in a big city" sitcom that did Thanksgiving well, and its Thanksgiving episodes are a funny mix of humor and heart. Community also had a solid Thanksgiving episode - although it took place during the "gas leak" year without creator Dan Harmon, it's still a decent half-hour that introduces us to Jeff's estranged father. Happy Endings also had a very funny Thanksgiving episode that chronicles the gang's past as reality TV stars.
However, if one show stands out above the rest, it's Bob's Burgers. Nearly every Bob's Burgers Thanksgiving episode is an instant classic, with my favorite being the Season 3 Thanksgiving episode "An Indecent Thanksgiving Proposal," which also featured Linda's unforgettable Thanksgiving song. It's a classic episode, just like all Bob's Burgers Thanksgiving episodes, and I highly recommend it.

Actor Gavan O'Herlihy, who played Chuck Cunningham in the first season of Happy Days, has died. He died in Bath, England, on September 15 of undisclosed causes. Mr. O'Herlihy was 70.
O'Herlihy appeared as Chuck Cunningham in seven episodes of the first season of the ABC sitcom Happy Days in 1974. Chuck Cunningham was the oldest son of Howard (Tom Bosley) and Marion Cunningham (Marion Ross) and older brother of Richie (Ron Howard) and Joanie (Erin Moran). He was a college student and basketball player. After O'Herlihy asked to leave the series, he was replaced by Randolph Roberts for two episodes in the second season. Chuck Cunningham was never mentioned again after the second season. O'Herlihy appeared on the Happy Days: 30th Anniversary Reunion special in 2005.
His first TV credit was as Josh McBride in the 1973 episode of The Mary Tyler Moore Show titled "Son of 'But Seriously, Folks." Some of his drama guest appearances included Sierra, Lucas Tanner, Marcus Welby, M.D., The Six Million Dollar Man, Police Woman, The Bionic Woman, The Amazing Spider-Man, Matt Houston, Cover Up, Tales from the Crypt, China Beach, Twin Peaks, The Good Guys (1992), Tarzan (1991-1992), Sharpe, Star Trek: Voyager, Jonathan Creek, 18 Wheels of Justice and Midsomer Murders.
O'Herlihy starred as Phil McGee in the 1976 ABC miniseries Rich Man, Poor Man in the episode "Part VIII: Chapters 11 and 12." Some of his other miniseries credits included A Rumor of War (1980), We'll Meet Again (1992), Partners in Crime (1983), A Killing on the Exchange, Lonesome Dove (1989) and The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes (1994).
He starred as Airk Thaughbaer, the military commander of the destroyed kingdom of Galladoorn who shares a mixed friendship with Madmartigan (Val Kilmer), in the 1988 fantasy film Willow. It was directed by his TV brother, Ron Howard. Some of his other film credits included Superman III (1983), Never Say Never Again (1983), Death Wish 3 (1985), Hidden Assassin (aka The Shooter) (1995), Prince Valiant (1997), Top of the World (1997), Seven Days of Grace (2006) and The Descent Part 2 (2009).

Mr. O'Herlihy was a good character actor. He had over thirty screen credits to his name, most of them in villainous or antagonistic roles. Willow was one of his few heroic roles. It was nice to see him work with Ron Howard again. We thank him for the entertainment he brought us during his career. He will be greatly missed.
