Fox Nation Taps Kelsey Grammer for Docudrama; Hallmark Channel's Kansas City Chiefs Christmas Movie

Kelsey Grammer - George: Rise of a Revolutionary

Fox Nation will debut a new four-part historical docudrama on George Washington hosted and executive produced by award-winning actor Kelsey Grammer (Frasier, Cheers). George: Rise of a Revolutionary will premiere on Monday, July 1st dropping all four episodes that week as the country celebrates Independence Day. Over the course of the series, viewers will observe Washington as he grows from a headstrong, risk-taking young soldier determined to fight for the British Crown, into a leading voice of America's growing resistance against England. Told through a compelling combination of dramatic re-creations and expert commentary, George: Rise of a Revolutionary offers a seldom-seen perspective on America's most famous Founding Father. Viewers will witness how disillusionment turned a fearless and flawed young man with a burning ambition to serve the Crown, into a leading voice of the burgeoning backlash against British tyranny, as George becomes a man who is willing to risk it all. Over the course of four episodes, viewers will see the man behind the legend, and the journey that led him to become the face of nation's fight for liberty.

Hallmark Channel and Kansas City Chiefs

Are you ready for some football? It's game time on Hallmark Channel this holiday season when two renowned Kansas City institutions - the Kansas City Chiefs and Hallmark - team up with the NFL and Skydance Sports for a holiday movie and partnership that will have audiences everywhere cheering - TOUCHDOWN! Tyler Hynes (Shifting Gears, Three Wise Men and a Baby), Hunter King (Two Scoops Of Italy, The Santa Summit) and Ed Begley Jr. (Young Sheldon, Better Call Saul) star in the new, original movie, Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story. The movie begins production next month and will film entirely in Kansas City, Missouri locations, including the iconic GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, marking the first time the loudest stadium in the world has been used as a filming location in a Hallmark movie.

Alana Higman (King) is sure that her family's lifelong history as Kansas City Chiefs superfans makes them a frontrunner to win the team's "Fan of the Year" contest. Derrick (Hynes), Director of Fan Engagement, is tasked with evaluating how Alana and her family stack up against the other two finalists. As the pair spends time together, it's clear there's a spark between them but when her grandfathers (Begley Jr.) vintage Chiefs, good luck winter hat goes missing, Alana begins to doubt everything she believed about fate, destiny and even questions her future with Derrick - unless, that is, a little Christmas magic can throw a Hail Mary.

This film marks the ultimate celebration of a longstanding collaboration between the two pioneering KC-based brands, officially uniting the Hallmarkies and Chiefs Kingdom like never before. With planning underway for game-day activations, unique co-branded merchandise, and on-air, social, and digital promotion, the multifaceted partnership will engage widespread audiences both on and off the field, with more details to be announced later this year. What's more, this film will fuel the proven track record of viewership crossover between Countdown to Christmas enthusiasts and sports fans. In fact, over 50% of Hallmark Channel viewers also watched sports while the Countdown to Christmas was on air in 2023, making this film the perfect holiday occasion.

Riz Ahmed

Prime Video announced it has ordered a yet-to-be-titled half-hour series from Academy Award and Emmy winner Riz Ahmed who will also produce, write, and star in the series. Emmy winner Ben Karlin (Modern Family, The Colbert Report, The Daily Show) is attached to executive produce and will showrun with Ahmed. The series will premiere exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. The series follows Shah Latif, a struggling actor on the cusp of landing the role of a lifetime, only to find himself thrust into a full blown existential crisis and trippy conspiracy thriller all at the same time. This marks Ahmed's return to television following his 2017 double Emmy nominations: guest star for Girls and lead actor for The Night Of, the latter of which he won.
