Michael Che's Third Netflix Special; Remembering Dennis Haskins of Saved by the Bell

Michael Che: Shot in Minnesota is premiering globally on Netflix October 13. Michael Che brings his next hour-long stand-up special to Netflix, taped at First Avenue in Minneapolis. The special premieres globally on Netflix October 13.

This marks the comedian's third Netflix stand-up special following Michael Che Matters (2016) and Michael Che: Shame the Devil (2021).

Actor Dennis Haskins, who starred as Principal Richard Belding in Saved by the Bell and Saved by the Bell: The New Class, has died. He died at his home in Burbank, California, on September 27. He had been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease eight years earlier. Mr. Haskins was 75.

Haskins first appeared as Mr. Belding in the 1988-1989 Disney Channel sitcom Good Morning, Miss Bliss. The series focuses on the life of junior high school teacher Miss Carrie Bliss (Hayley Mills) at John F. Kennedy Junior High in Indianapolis. Haskins played the school principal, Mr. Richard Belding. The cast included Joan Ryan, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Max Battimo, Dustin Diamond, Heather Hopper, Lark Voorhies and T. K. Carter.

He starred as Principal Richard Belding in the 1989-1993 NBC sitcom Saved by the Bell. It was broadcast on Saturday mornings as the flagship series in NBC's TNBC lineup. The show follows a group of high school friends and their principal at the fictional Bayside High School in Los Angeles. Richard Belding is the principal of Bayside High School. His signature catchphrase is "Hey, hey, hey, hey! What is going on here?", usually uttered after walking in on something ridiculous occurring at the school. The series also starred Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Mario Lopez, Dustin Diamond, Tiffani-Amber Thiessen, Elizabeth Berkley, Lark Voorhies, Ed Alonzo (1989-1990) and Leanna Creel (1992-1993).

Haskins continued the role of Principal Richard Belding in the 1993-2000 NBC sitcom Saved by the Bell: The New Class. It ran for seven seasons on NBC as a part of the network's TNBC Saturday morning line-up. The show had the same concept as the original series but featured a new group of students roaming the halls of the fictional Bayside High School. The cast was constantly revolving, with Haskins as the only constant throughout all seven seasons. Screech returned to Bayside High to work as Mr. Belding's assistant as part of a work/study program starting in the second season.

He appeared as Richard Belding in a 2012 episode of Victorious. Haskins, Diamond, Gosselaar, Voorhies and Lopez did their own voices in a Saved by the Bell Saw parody, called "Sawed by the Bell", on "Boo Cocky", in a season three episode of Robot Chicken in 2008. On February 4, 2015, he reunited with Gosselaar, Berkley, Lopez and Thiessen on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where they appeared in a Saved by the Bell sketch with Fallon.

Some of his sitcom guest appearances included Archie Bunker's Place, Nothing Is Easy, Frank's Place, Doctor Doctor, Hangin' with Mr. Cooper, Malibu, CA (1999), It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, How I Met Your Mother (2 episodes), Jennifer Falls, New Girl and Hot in Cleveland.

Haskins appeared in three episodes of The Dukes of Hazzard. Some of his other television credits included The Greatest American Hero, Simon & Simon, The Fall Guy, CHiPs, Knots Landing, Hardcastle and McCormick (2 episodes), Cutter to Houston (2 episodes), Amazing Stories (1986), Magnum, P.I. (1986), The Twilight Zone (1987), Ohara, The Practice (2001), 7th Heaven, JAG, Men of a Certain Age (3 episodes), Mad Men and I'm Dying Up Here.

Mr. Haskins starred as America's principal for generations of 90s kids. He was funny and memorable as Mr. Belding. We thank him for the laughs and entertainment. He will be greatly missed.

We also remember actor Gerrit Graham. He starred as Leonard Scribner in Stockard Channing in Just Friends and voiced Franklin Sherman in The Critic. He died of complications from lung disease on September 15 in Rhinebeck, New York. Mr. Graham was 77.

Graham starred as Leonard Scribner in the short-lived 1979 CBS sitcom Stockard Channing in Just Friends (also known as Just Friends). The series revolves around health spa assistant manager Susan Hughes (Stockard Channing), whose marriage is falling apart. Leonard Scribner is her kooky neighbor. The cast included Mimi Kennedy, Lou Crisculo, Sydney Goldsmith, Joan Tolentino, Albert Insinnia, Liz Torres, Rhonda Fox and Linda Rose.

He was the voice of Franklin Sherman in the 1994 ABC and 1995 Fox animated sitcom The Critic. The show follows the life of a 36-year-old film critic from New York named Jay Sherman, voiced by Jon Lovitz. Jay Sherman's wealthy adoptive parents, Franklin and Eleanor (Judith Ivey), paid little attention to him. The voice cast included Christine Cavanaugh, Nancy Cartwright, Doris Grau, Nick Jameson, Maurice LaMarche, Charles Napier, Park Overall, Tress MacNeille, Kath Soucie and Russi Taylor.

Graham had a recurring role as Dr. Norman Pankow in six episodes of the Fox sitcom Parker Lewis Can't Lose from 1990 to 1992. Some of his other sitcom guest appearances included Laverne & Shirley, Throb, Sledge Hammer!, My Two Dads, Dear John, The Nutt House, Sugar and Spice, Parenthood (1990), The Wonder Years, Stat (2 episodes), Davis Rules, A Different World (1992), The New WKRP in Cincinnati, Seinfeld, Family Matters, The Larry Sanders Show and Weird Science.

He had a recurring role as Fred Hughes in six episodes of Dallas from 1988 to 1989. He starred as Roger Bender, Michael Wiseman's (Eric Close) best friend and fellow executive at the insurance company, in the 1999-2000 CBS science fiction comedy-drama Now and Again.

Some of his other televison guest appearances included The Rookies, Harry O, Baretta, Medical Story, Starsky and Hutch, Dog and Cat, The A-Team, The Dukes of Hazzard, Whiz Kids, The Twilight Zone (1986 - he also wrote three episodes), Fame, St. Elsewhere, Sidekicks (2 episodes), Rags to Riches, Tales from the Crypt, The Young Riders (he also wrote the story for an episode), China Beach, Reasonable Doubts, Civil Wars, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Babylon 5, Diagnosis: Murder, Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, Star Trek: Voyager, Law & Order (2 episodes) and Third Watch.

He was best known for his appearances in multiple films by Brian De Palma. Some of his film credits included Greetings (1968), Phantom of the Paradise (1974), Home Movies (1979), Used Cars (1980), National Lampoon's Class Reunion (1982), TerrorVision (1986) and Child's Play 2 (1990).

Mr. Graham was a talented and versatile character actor. He was a familiar face with over 100 television and film credits. We thank him for his work on television and in films. He will be sorely missed.

Television writer and producer Jim Geoghan co-created and executive produced Disney Channel's The Suite Life of Zack & Cody and its spin-off The Suite Life on Deck. He died from dementia at his home in Los Angeles, California, on September 6. Mr. Geoghan was 79.

Geoghan's sitcom writing credits included Too Close for Comfort, The Facts of Life, Empire (1984), Silver Spoons (18 episodes), It's Garry Shandling's Show, Boys Will Be Boys, The Van Dyke Show, Kate & Allie, The Nutt House, Mama's Family, Amen, On Our Own (1995) and Family Matters (32 episodes). Geoghan and Danny Kallis created Disney Channel's The Suite Life of Zack & Cody and its spin-off The Suite Life on Deck

Some of his sitcom producing credits included It's Garry Shandling's Show, Silver Spoons, Boys Will Be Boys, The Van Dyke Show, Amen, Family Matters, The Suite Life of Zack & Cody and The Suite Life on Deck.

Mr. Geoghan's The Suite Life of Zack & Cody launched the careers of the Sprouse twins, Cole and Dylan, as well as Ashley Tisdale, Brenda Song and more. The series was nominated twice for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Children's Program in 2007 and 2008. We thank him for his work on sitcoms. He will be greatly missed.

Actress Carla Jeffery had a recurring role as Keysha Black in Curb Your Enthusiasm. She died at her California home on September 1. No cause of death was disclosed. Ms. Jeffery was only 33.

Jeffery had a recurring role as Keysha Black in ten episodes of the HBO sitcom Curb Your Enthusiasm from 2007 to 2009. The Blacks are a family of African-American victims of Hurricane Edna, a category 5 hurricane reminiscent of Hurricane Katrina. The Blacks consist of single mother Loretta Black (Vivica A. Fox), her children Keysha and Daryl (Nick Nervies), and their Auntie Rae (Ellia English). In season six, Cheryl convinces Larry to take the Blacks in, and they end up leaving in season seven.

Some of her sitcom guest appearances included iCarly, Good Luck Charlie, Shake It Up, Super Fun Night, Suburgatory, Best Friends Whenever and Uncle Buck (2016).

She had a recurring role as Sierra Sherrington in four episodes of American Vandal in 2017. Some of her other television credits included Miss Guided, Lie to Me, Southland (4 episodes), Men of a Certain Age, Torchwood, Crazy Ex-Girlfiend and Scream Queens.

Ms. Jeffery was best known for playing the cheerleader Bree in Disney Channel's Zombies film franchise. We thank her for her work on television and in films. She will be sorely missed.
