SitcomsOnline Digest: How I Met Your Mother Spinoff Still Being Considered; Reboots for King of the Hill and The Munsters?
HIGHLIGHTS FROM SITCOMSONLINE.COM AND AROUND THE WEB
- It has been more than three years since How I Met Your Mother left the air, and it sounds like the How I Met Your Father spinoff idea that has been kicked around before the series even went off the air is still not quite dead yet. (Hollywood Reporter)
- It seems that Fox may be ready to bring back King of the Hill for new episodes, although Brittany Murphy's character of Luanne would certainly need to be recast. (CNN)
- Remember that reboot of The Munsters that NBC kicked around for several years before throwing in the towel and just airing the pilot as a primetime special in 2012? It seems the network is looking to reboot the series yet again, this time with Seth Meyers producing. (Variety)
- Even though his role on The Big Bang Theory keeps him busy enough, Johnny Galecki is in talks to reprise his role at least in some fashion in the reboot of Roseanne. (Variety)
- NBCUniversal is ending their online comedy streaming service, Seeso, which probably isn't all that surprising given that a lot of people have never even heard of it. (Variety)
- Nothing is set in stone, but the creator of Modern Family is saying that it is likely that the series will come to a "graceful" end at the completion of the tenth season, which won't even air until the 2018-2019 season. (Deadline)
- It's always a positive thing when the producers of a series have an entire season to prepare for a final episode, and the executive producer of The Middle says that the one hour series finale for that series (which won't even air until the end of the 2017-2018 season) will be something that fans are sure to love. (Deadline)
- MeTV is adding some new programs to their lineup in just a little over a week, including The Facts of Life and TJ Hooker. (SitcomsOnline)
