Also of note for us, stay up late with getTV, as the network unveils a new Get Lost In TV overnight block, every Sunday at 12 a.m. ET, starting on Jan. 1 with John Cassavetes as a piano-playing P.I. in five episodes of Johnny Staccato. Next, on Jan. 8, Perry King, Joe Penny, and Thom Bray star as crime solving Vietnam vets in five episodes of Stephen J. Cannell's Riptide. Then, tune in for a pair of California crime dramas on Jan. 15, with Steve Forrester and Robert Urich in three episodes of S.W.A.T., and Howard Duff, Ben Alexander, and Dennis Cole in three episodes of Felony Squad. getTV celebrates comedy's funniest ladies on Jan. 22, featuring Betty White and the cast of The Golden Girls on The Merv Griffin Show at 11 p.m. ET, as well as classic specials starring Carol Burnett, Lucille Ball, Mary Tyler Moore, Ann-Margret, and Minnie Pearl. The month closes on Jan. 29, with Western hero Audie Murphy as a Denver lawman in nine episodes of Whispering Smith.
Viewers will have the chance to binge-watch the biggest hit of the fall season, This Is Us, when all 10 episodes of NBC's breakout drama air on sister cable network USA Network. The catch-up marathon kicks off at 1 p.m. ET/PT on Saturday Jan. 7 with the pilot episode airing simultaneously on NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment's USA, Bravo and E! networks. All episodes will then continue on USA Network through 11 p.m. New episodes of This Is Us return to NBC on Tuesday, Jan. 10. The series stars Mandy Moore, Milo Ventimiglia, Sterling K. Brown, Chrissy Metz, Justin Hartley, Chris Sullivan, Susan Kelechi Watson and Ron Cephas Jones. In the series, it is a refreshingly honest and provocative series that follows a unique ensemble whose paths cross and their life stories intertwine in curious ways. We find several of them share the same birthday, and so much more than anyone would expect.
