74th Golden Globes Nominations; Longest TV Marathon in History Sets Records at FXX with The Simpsons

The 74th Annual Golden Globe Awards nominees have been announced! HBO leads with 14 (up from its 7 from last year) nominations. FX (9), ABC (5), Amazon Video (5) and AMC (5) followed. ABC leads the broadcast nominees with 5 this year, up from its 4 last year, followed by NBC with 3 and The CW with 2. The most nominated television series was The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story with 5. black-ish leads all comedies with 3 nods. The telecast airs LIVE on Sunday, Jan. 8, 2017 from 8-11pm ET/5-8pm PT on NBC hosted by Jimmy Fallon. The historic The Simpsons 600 Marathon kept FXX among the Top 10 basic cable networks throughout its 13-day run and reached 18.2 million Total Viewers and 9.9 million Adults 18-49 (unduplicated audience). Beginning November 24, the 27-season, 600-episode, 300-hour The Simpsons 600 Marathon made FXX the #6 basic cable network in Adults 18-49 and #5 network among Adults 18-34 in Total Day average ratings throughout the 13-day marathon that concluded at midnight on Wednesday, December 7. On a Primetime basis, FXX ranked #10 among basic cable networks in Adults 18-49 and #6 in Adults 18-34 over that same period. The Simpsons 600 Marathon is the longest-running marathon in television history, surpassing the previous record holder, FXX's 552-episode, 12-day Simpsons marathon in 2014.
