TBS Adds 'NewsRadio', Other TBS Highlights

TBS has finally announced the missing slots in its October schedule. We previously announced that sitcom The King of Queens will air weekdays at 5 & 5:30 p.m. and Fridays at 8 & 8:30 p.m. starting Oct. 2, along with The Megan Mullally Show coming Sept. 19 at 8 a.m. weekdays (that forces them to push back Saved by the Bell from 6-8am). Now they have set the other changes that we have talked about. Weekdays at 12 & 12:30 p.m. will be another hour of Home Improvement (it will also air in its new slot of 3 & 3:30 p.m.), then at 1 p.m. they will add the sitcom NewsRadio to its line-up, followed by The Cosby Show at 1:30 p.m. and back-to-back episodes of The Steve Harvey Show at 2 & 2:30 p.m. So, NewsRadio will be on two cable channels now, TBS weekday afternoons and Nick@Nite late nights on weekends. Sometimes the TBS movie at 10 a.m. will run to 12:30 p.m., so when that happens, Home Improvement will air 12:30 & 1, then NewsRadio at 1:30. Also, Bosom Buddies will be replaced on Saturdays at 6 & 6:30 a.m. starting Oct. 7 by The Drew Carey Show. Here are the fall highlights and specials:
* EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND Marathon – Sunday, Oct. 1, 6 p.m.-12 a.m.
One of the most popular comedies of all time will make for the perfect autumn warmer as TBS presents 12 straight episodes of fun with the Barone family.
* THE KING OF QUEENS Marathon – Sunday, Oct. 8, 6 p.m.-12 a.m.
As a build-up to the launch of TBS’s latest addition to its comic line-up, the “very funny” network presents 12 memorable episodes from this blue-collar comedy.
* HOME IMPROVEMENT Thanksgiving Day Marathon – Thursday, Nov. 23, 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Tim Allen’s hilarious comedy about a television fix-it man, his wife and three sons gets a six-hour marathon, a perfect addition to any family Thanksgiving gathering.
* SAVED BY THE BELL Day-After-Thanksgiving Marathon – Friday, Nov. 24, 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
What could be better than fighting crowds at malls on the first day of the holiday shopping season? Spending four hours with Zack, A.C., Screech, Lisa, Kelly and Jessica on this ultra-popular comedy.
* ORIGINAL SITCOM: 10 Items or Less
Premieres Mondays at 11:00 p.m. starting November 27, 2006 for five weeks
Laugh all the way down the grocery aisle with TBS' new loosely-scripted original comedy series, 10 Items or Less starring John Lehr. Leslie Pool (Lehr) inherits the family grocery store, Greens & Grains, after his father passes away. The store becomes a tall order for Pool as the employees of Greens & Grains run the gamut from unconventional to out-right odd and Leslie’s do-right attitude goes wrong on many occasions. Don't miss all the fun as TBS turns a trip to the grocery store into endless laughs.
* ORIGINAL SITCOM: My Boys
Premieres Tuesdays at 10:00 p.m. & 10:30 p.m. starting November 28, 2006 for 13 episodes
TBS brings viewers a funny and relatable new original comedy series from the executive producer of Gilmore Girls and Curb Your Enthusiasm. My Boys follows single tomboy PJ Franklin, a sportswriter for the Chicago Sun Times, as she looks for love in her world filled with guy friends. Take a fresh look at the single life as PJ gets the inside scoop on guys from her “boys” and learns the rules of the game from her best (and only) girlfriend. PJ’s no-nonsense approach to dating has the tendency to intimidate potential suitors, but she never lets that get to her. PJ always manages to stay true to her tomboy-ish, sports fanatic, beer-loving self. Don’t miss this very funny comedy only on TBS.
