i Network Adds 'Kotter', 'Amen' in October; Nick@Nite Adds 'Designing Women' at Midnight in October

As we promised, today we will give you details on i Network in October. They will be adding the '70s school-themed sitcom Welcome Back, Kotter starring Gabe Kaplan and John Travolta to Friday nights at 7 and 7:30 p.m. ET/PT starting Friday, October 13. Green Acres will continue to air Mon-Thurs at 7 and 7:30 p.m. ET/PT. Kotter will get a Saturday marathon the very next day (October 14) from 8 to 11 p.m. ET/PT.
Other Saturday marathons are: The Monkees on October 7 and The Partridge Family on October 21, both of which air regularly on Fridays at 6 and 6:30 p.m. (starting September 15, as we mentioned). We will have episode info soon. One little note, though, on Friday, October 6 i network will air a movie from 6 t 8 p.m., pre-empting regular programming. This will be a one time thing only. The Saturday marathon on October 28 will be a launch marathon. The strange part it is not a Sony or Warner Bros. show. It is a Universal owned show. Which makes me wonder, was this show just bought by itself or does i Network plan to announce another studio deal? We will let you know, as soon as we do. Anyway, that show is the '80s sitcom Amen, starring Sherman Hemsley and Clifton Davis. It will get the Saturday marathon on Oct. 28 and then it will join the line-up on Monday, October 30 airing Mon-Thurs at 7 and 7:30 p.m., replacing Green Acres, which will move to Mon-Thurs at 6 and 6:30 p.m., replacing Bonanza, which as of now, will be off the schedule starting Oct. 30. As we saw with the Growing Pains situation, this is all very subject to change. So, keep on coming back. Will i Network add more time periods by November? We'll find out soon!

Moving on to more schedule news, Nick@Nite has finally announced its October schedule. The ladies of Designing Women join the network on October 2, with a four-day marathon running until October 5 from 10 p.m. to approx. 2 a.m. ET/PT. They will also air a Roseanne marathon that week immediately following Designing Women until 6 a.m. So, it seems like it is Designing Women vs. Roseanne week. Click HERE for episode info.
After the marathon, Designing Women will air Mon-Sat at midnight ET/PT and on Thursday nights from approx. 1:30 a.m. to 5 a.m. ET/PT.
Also in October, they will air a special episode of TV Land's original I Pity the Fool on Oct. 11 at 11 p.m. and a "Tricks@Nite" Halloween marathon on Halloween night featuring Hi-Jinks and Roseanne. Click HERE for complete October details.
