TV One Honors Malcolm-Jamal Warner; Comedy Central Season 3 of Mike Judge's Beavis and Butt-Head; Remembering Kenneth Washington of Hogan's Heroes
TV One will celebrate the life of the late actor Malcolm-Jamal Warner, best known as the beloved Theo Huxtable, with two tribute marathons of The Cosby Show this Friday, July 25 beginning at 6 PM ET and Sunday, July 27 beginning at Noon ET. Both marathons will include memorable episodes featuring Warner's character Theo for viewers to indulge and reminisce about his inaugural acting career.
The marathon is an homage to Warner's iconic role and contributions to the series, which originally aired from 1984 to 1992. TV One invites viewers to celebrate his legacy through these unforgettable performances and the beloved character he brought into homes across America. The Cosby Show also airs weekdays on TV One.
Comedy Central announced the return of the hit animated comedy series, Mike Judge's Beavis and Butt-Head. Season three will premiere on Wednesday, September 3rd. From Emmy(R) Award-winning creator Mike Judge, the beloved misfits return with their signature brand of absurd, hilarious, and often painfully relatable antics - cementing their status as enduring pop culture icons. Having originally premiered in 1993, Emmy(R) Award-winning creator Mike Judge has cemented Beavis and Butt-Head as cornerstones in adult animation. Known for its sharp wit and unfiltered take on adolescence, the show remains a significant part of the cultural zeitgeist. Created and voiced by writer, producer and director Mike Judge, the characters of Beavis and Butt-Head originated in Judge's 1992 short film Frog Baseball, which was broadcast by MTV's animation showcase "Liquid Television."
After MTV commissioned a full series around the characters, Beavis and Butt-Head ran for seven seasons, from March 8, 1993 to Nov. 28, 1997. The series was revived in 2011 with an eighth season airing on MTV. During its initial run, Beavis and Butt-Head received widespread critical acclaim for its satirical, scathing commentary on society. The show's popularity spawned various related media, including the theatrical film Beavis and Butt-Head Do America in 1996.
Actor Kenneth Washington, who starred as Sgt. Richard Baker in the final season of Hogan's Heroes, has died. He died on July 18 at his home in Beverly Hills, California. Mr. Washington was 88.
Washington starred as Sgt. Richard Baker in the sixth and final (1970-1971) season of the CBS sitcom Hogan's Heroes. Sgt. Richard Baker assumed the duties of Sgt. James Kinchloe after Ivan Dixon left the series. The cast included Bob Crane, Werner Klemperer, John Banner, Robert Clary, Richard Dawson, Ivan Dixon (1965-1970), Larry Hovis, Cynthia Lynn (1965-1966), and Sigrid Valdis (1966-1970).
Some of his sitcom guest appearances included I Dream of Jeannie, My Three Sons, Petticoat Junction, and The Paul Lynde Show. He made his final acting appearance as Mercer Gilbert, Whitley Gilbert's (Jasmine Guy) father, in a 1989 episode of A Different World. Mercer Gilbert was originally portrayed by Conroy Gedeon in a 1987 episode before Ron O'Neal took over the role in 1990 for four episodes.
He had a recurring role as Officer Miller in eight episodes of the first season (1968-1969) of the NBC police procedural crime drama Adam-12. Some of his other television guest appearances included Dragnet 1967, Star Trek, The Name of the Game, Marcus Welby, M.D. (1970), O'Hara, U.S. Treasury (1971), Hec Ramsey, The F.B.I., The Rockford Files, and Police Story (4 episodes). He appeared as Technician #2 in the 1973 science fiction western film Westworld.
Mr. Washington was the last surviving cast main cast member of Hogan's Heroes. We thank him for his work on Hogan's Heroes and television. He will be sorely missed.
We also remember Hall of Fame professional wrestler and actor Hulk Hogan. He voiced The Dean in the Adult Swim on Cartoon Network animated sitcom China, IL. He died of cardiac arrest at his home in Clearwater, Florida, on July 24. He was 71.
Hulk Hogan starred as Randolph J. "Hurricane" Spencer in the 1994 first-run syndicated action-adventure series Thunder in Paradise, which was later rebroadcast on the TNT cable network. Thunder in Paradise follows the adventures of two ex-United States Navy SEALs, Randolph J. "Hurricane" Spencer and Martin "Bru" Brubaker (Chris Lemmon), who work as mercenaries out of their tropical resort headquarters along Florida's Gulf Coast of the United States. The cast also included Carol Alt, Ashley Gorrell, Patrick Macnee, and Russ Wheeler as the voice of Thunder (their futuristic, high-tech boat).
He provided the voice of The Dean in the 2011-2015 Adult Swim on Cartoon Network animated sitcom China, IL. The series takes place at the "Worst School in America", located at the edge of the fictional town of China, Illinois. The Dean is the unnamed and impossibly macho head of the University of China, IL.
Some of his sitcom guest appearances included The Love Boat, Suddenly Susan (2 episodes), and The Goldbergs in 2019. He provided the voice of various characters for four episodes of Robot Chicken. He voiced himself in a 2012 episode of American Dad!.
Hulk Hogan's other television guest appearances included The A-Team (2 episodes), Baywatch, and Walker, Texas Ranger (2001). He co-hosted Saturday Night Live on March 30, 1985. He starred in the 2005-2007 VH1 reality documentary television series Hogan Knows Best. In 2008, he co-hosted the revival series of American Gladiators on NBC.
He played the part of the wrestler Thunderlips in Rocky III (1982). Some of his other film credits included No Holds Barred (1989), Gremlins 2: The New Batch (1990), Suburban Commando (1991), and Mr. Nanny (1993).
Hulk Hogan was widely regarded as the most recognized wrestling star worldwide and the most popular wrestler of the 1980s. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005, and inducted a second time in 2020 as a member of the nWo. We thank him for his work in the ring and as an actor on television and in films. The Hulkster will be greatly missed.
Grammy-winning jazz musician and voice actor Chuck Mangione had a recurring role as a fictional version of himself on King of the Hill. He died of natural causes in his sleep at his Rochester, New York, home on July 22. Mr. Mangione was 84.
Mangione had a recurring role as a fictional version of himself being a celebrity spokesman for the Mega Lo Mart in nine episodes of the Fox animated sitcom King of the Hill from 1997 to 2003. His composition "Feels So Good" was heard frequently, including a running gag in which he worked it into whatever he was playing.
Some of his other guest appearances included the role of Jimmy Nolan in a 1984 episode of Magnum, P.I. and the role of Little Boy Blue in a 1988 episode of Sharon, Lois & Bram's Elephant Show on CBC.
He came to prominence as a member of Art Blakey's band in the 1960s, and later co-led the Jazz Brothers with his brother, Gap, achieving international success in 1977 with his jazz-pop single "Feels So Good". He released more than 30 albums, beginning in the 1960s. He won Grammy Awards in 1977 and 1979.
Mr. Mangione was a talented flugelhornist and trumpeter. His appearances on King of the Hill were always funny and memorable. We thank him for his music. He will be deeply missed.

Camp Snoopy Premieres June 14 on Apple TV+; Remembering Elizabeth MacRae of Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C.
Attention campers! Apple TV+ unveiled the trailer for the all-new, highly anticipated summer Peanuts series Camp Snoopy, premiering on Friday, June 14.
After discovering their troop is in danger of disbanding, Snoopy and the Beagle Scouts set off to immerse themselves in nature and the Great Outdoors to earn their badges, with the Beagle Scout Manual as their guide. Meanwhile, Charlie Brown and friends enjoy their summer at Camp Spring Lake, crossing paths with Snoopy as they experience hiking, swimming, sitting around campfires and everything summer camp and the outdoors have to offer.
Produced for Apple TV+ by Peanuts and WildBrain, the new series is based on the Peanuts comic strip by Charles M. Schulz and is directed by Rob Boutilier (The Snoopy Show, Snoopy in Space). Executive producers are Craig Schulz, Paige Braddock, Boutilier, Josh Scherba, Stephanie Betts and Logan McPherson.
Actress Elizabeth MacRae, who had a recurring role as Lou-Ann Poovie on Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C., has died. She died on May 27 in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Ms. MacRae was 88.
MacRae had a recurring role as Lou-Ann Poovie in 15 episodes of the CBS sitcom Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C. from 1966 to 1969. Lou-Ann Poovie is Gomer's (Jim Nabors) girlfriend. She debuts in the third season episode "Love's Old Sweet Song" as a singer for a nightclub, but leaves the job at Gomer's urging to return home to Turtle Creek, North Carolina, and marry her beau Monroe Efford. She was hired to play a very lousy singer for just one episode, cast because she was indeed a bad singer, and because of her true bred southern accent. The characters – and MacRae and Nabors – got along so well onscreen, they decided to make her more or less his permanent girlfriend.
Some of her sitcom guest appearances included Harrigan and Son, I Dream of Jeannie, The Andy Griffith Show and Rhoda.
She was cast multiple times on the long-running Gunsmoke, appearing once in the role of Fanny in the 1962 episode "Half-Straight" and then, between 1962 and 1965, appearing four times as April, the girlfriend of Festus Haggen (Ken Curtis), one of the series' main characters.
Some of her other television guest appearances included Naked City, Maverick, The Asphalt Jungle, Surfside 6 (3 episodes), 77 Sunset Strip, Dr. Kildare, The Untouchables, Sam Benedict, Stoney Burke, Death Valley Days, Burke's Law, Route 66 (4 episodes), Rawhide, The Fugitive, The Virginian, Bonanza, Judd for the Defense, Mannix, Petrocelli, Kojak (2 episodes) and Barnaby Jones.
MacRae's soap opera credits included General Hospital, Another World, Days of Our Lives, Guiding Light and Search for Tomorrow.
She starred as Meredith in Francis Ford Coppola's The Conversation (1974). Her other film credits included Love in a Goldfish Bowl (1961), Everything's Ducky (1961), The Wild Westerners (1962), Wild Is My Love (1963), For Love or Money (1963), The Incredible Mr. Lumpet (1964) (as the voice of Ladyfish) and Alien Zone (1978). Her final credit was as a news reporter in Eddie and the Cruisers II: Eddie Lives! (1989).
Ms. MacRae was funny and memorable as Lou-Ann Poovie. She performed in dozens of television series and in nine feature films over her career that spanned 25 years. We thank her for her work on Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C. and other series. She will be deeply missed.
Film and television producer Albert S. Ruddy, who co-created Hogan's Heroes, has died. He died after a brief illness at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles on May 25. Mr. Ruddy was 94.
Ruddy and Bernard Fein created the 1965-1971 CBS sitcom Hogan's Heroes. The series is set in a prisoner-of-war (POW) camp in Nazi Germany during World War II, which concerns a group of Allied prisoners who use the POW camp as an operations base for sabotage and espionage purposes directed against Nazi Germany. It was a critical and commercial success and ran for six seasons and 168 episodes.
In 1976, he produced a western made-for-TV movie called The Macahans, which was subsequently developed into the 1976-1979 ABC western series How the West Was Won. Ruddy, Leslie Greif, Paul Haggis and Christopher Canaan created the 1993-2001 CBS action crime series Walker, Texas Ranger. He was the executive producer for three episodes in 1993. He was also credited on the 2021-2024 The CW prequel series Walker.
He produced The Godfather (1972) and Million Dollar Baby (2004), both of which won him the Academy Award for Best Picture. In the 2022 Paramount+ biographical drama miniseries The Offer, which dramatizes the making of The Godfather and is executive produced by Ruddy, he is played by Miles Teller.
Mr. Ruddy was developing a Hogan's Heroes sequel series in 2019. It will be interesting to see if it ever happens. We thank him for creating the classic Hogan's Heroes. He will be greatly missed.
We also remember actor, screenwriter, television executive, and acting coach Darryl Hickman. He appeared in The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis, The Nanny and other sitcoms. He died on May 22 in Montecito, California. Mr. Hickman was 92.
Hickman played Davey Gillis in three episodes of the first season (1959-1960) of the CBS sitcom The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis. Davey Gillis is Dobie's (Dwayne Hickman) older brother, a college student no more responsible and no less girl-crazy than Dobie. Davey was written out of the series after season one and Dobie is regarded as an only child thereafter.
Some of his other sitcom guest appearances included Love, American Style (1970), Maude and All in the Family. He appeared as various characters in four episodes of The Nanny from 1997 to 1999.
Hickman starred as Ben Canfield in the short-lived 1961 NBC Civil War drama The Americans. Some of his other television guest appearances included The Lone Ranger (2 episodes), The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp, Perry Mason, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Wanted: Dead or Alive, Gunsmoke (2 episodes), Rawhide (2 episodes), The Untouchables (2 episodes), Dr. Kildare and Baywatch. He wrote three episodes of The Loretta Young Show in 1961 and an episode of Hawaiian Eye in 1961.
Some of his voice credits included Space Stars, Pac-Man, The Biskitts, Pole Position, A Pup Named Scooby-Doo and The Greatest Adventure: Stories from the Bible.
He appeared in films such as The Grapes of Wrath (1940), Leave Her to Heaven (1945) and Fighting Father Dunne (1948).
Mr. Hickman started his career as a child actor in the Golden Age of Hollywood and appeared in numerous television series as an adult. He was the older brother of Dwayne Hickman who died in 2022. We thank him for work on television and in films. He will be sorely missed.

Bounce Orders New Sitcom for Spring 2023; Remembering Hogan's Heroes Star Robert Clary, The Bob Newhart Show and Taxi Co-Creator David Davis, and Head of the Class Co-Creator Richard Eustis
Bounce, the popular broadcast and multi-platform entertainment network serving African Americans, announced a partnership with MGM to produce a new original series, Act Your Age. The multiple-camera, half-hour comedy tells the story of three vibrant, successful Washington D.C./Northern Virginia-area women in their 50's who are each at a personal crossroads and who decide the best way forward in life is together. Act Your Age stars Kym Whitley (Curb Your Enthusiasm, Next Friday, Young and Hungry) and Tisha Campbell (Uncoupled, My Wife and Kids, Dr. Ken, Martin) with special guest star Yvette Nicole Brown (Community, The Mayor, Big Shot).
Whitley plays Bernadette, a successful, no-nonsense real estate developer. Campbell plays Keisha, the wild card of the group who is always up to something, and Brown plays Angela, the former First Lady of Norfolk, Virginia, who is looking to redefine her life after being widowed by her husband, a revered career politician. The multi-generational sitcom also features Mariah Robinson (The Wrong Valentine) and Nathan Anderson (All About the Washingtons, Richie Rich) as the 20-something children of Angela and Bernadette, respectively. Alyson Fouse (Big Shot, Everybody Hates Chris, The Wanda Sykes Show) created the series and serves as showrunner and executive producer. The series is produced by Mark Burnett, Barry Poznick and Bradley Gardner (Hot in Cleveland) and co-executive producer Ken Ornstein (Everybody Loves Raymond). The 16-episode first season of Act Your Age has begun production in Los Angeles and will premiere on Bounce in the spring of 2023.
French-born American actor Robert Clary, who was best known for his role as Corporal Louis LeBeau on Hogan's Heroes, has died. He died at his Los Angeles home on November 16. Mr. Clary was 96.
Clary starred as Corporal Louis LeBeau on the 1965-1971 CBS sitcom Hogan's Heroes. The series was set in a German prisoner of war (POW) camp during World War II, and Clary played a French POW who was a member of an Allied sabotage unit operating from inside the camp. Corporal Louis LeBeau is a gourmet chef, and patriotic Frenchman, frequently referred to as "the cockroach" by both Colonel Wilhelm Klink (Werner Klemperer) and Sergeant Hans Schultz (John Banner). The cast included Bob Crane, Richard Dawson, Ivan Dixon (1965-1970), Kenneth Washington (1970-1971), Larry Hovis, Cynthia Lynn (1965-1966) and Sigrid Valdis (1966-1970).
Some of his sitcom guest appearances included Love, American Style (1969), Arnie, Love Thy Neighbor and The Munsters Today. Some of his other television guest appearances included Appointment with Adventure, Play of the Week, Bob Hope Presents the Chrysler Theatre, The High Chaparral, Fantasy Island (1978) and The New Adam-12 (1990).
He starred as Robert LeClair on Days of Our Lives from 1972–1973, 1975–1983 and 1986–1987. He played Pierre Jourdan on The Bold and the Beautiful from 1990 to 1992. He appeared as Pierre Roulland on two episodes of The Young and the Restless in 1974.
Clary was a survivor of the Holocaust. He published a memoir, From the Holocaust to Hogan's Heroes: The Autobiography of Robert Clary, in 2001. He describes his childhood in Paris, the German occupation in 1940, and his deportation in 1942 at the age of sixteen to the infamous transit camp Drancy. He recounts his nightmarish, two-and-a-half-year incarceration in Nazi concentration camps like Ottmuth, Blechhammer, Gross-Rosen, and Buchenwald. He played himself in the 1982 NBC TV movie Remembrance of Love.
Mr. Clary was the last surviving main cast member who starred in all six seasons of Hogan's Heroes, with only Kenneth Washington who played Sergeant Richard Baker in the final season left. He was funny and memorable as Corporal Louis LeBeau. We thank him for the laughs and entertainment that he brought us during his career. He will be greatly missed.

Emmy-winning producer and writer David Davis, who co-created The Bob Newhart Show and Taxi, has died. He died in Los Angeles on November 4. Mr. Davis was 86.
Davis and Lorenzo Music created the 1972-1978 CBS sitcom The Bob Newhart Show. Comedian Bob Newhart portrays a psychologist whose interactions with his wife, friends, patients, and colleagues lead to humorous situations and dialogue.
James L. Brooks, Stan Daniels, Ed. Weinberger and Davis created the 1978-1983 sitcom Taxi, which aired on ABC for four seasons from 1978 to 1982 and the fifth and final season on NBC from 1982 to 1983. It focuses on the everyday lives of a handful of New York City taxi drivers and their abusive dispatcher. Davis won a Primetime Emmy Award for his producing work on Taxi in 1979 when it won for Outstanding Comedy Series. Taxi also won Outstanding Comedy Series in 1980 and 1981.
Davis and Lorenzo Music developed the 1974-1978 CBS sitcom Rhoda. He met actress Julie Kavner (Brenda Morgenstern) on the set. They were partners from 1976 until his death.
Some of his other sitcom writing credits included Love, American Style (3 episodes) and The Mary Tyler Moore Show (7 episodes). He worked as a dialogue supervisor for The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis from 1962 to 1963. He was an associate producer for O.K. Crackerby!, My Mother the Car, He & She and Get Smart. He worked as a production advisor for the 1993-1994 ABC sitcom Phenom.
Survivors include Julie Kavner, daughter Samantha Davis-Friedman, daughter Abigail, and grandsons Joshua, Jacob, Aden, Asher and Elijah.
Mr. Davis was a key player on the MTM Enterprises team in the 1970s. He also shot footage for the title sequences for The Bob Newhart Show and Taxi. We thank him for his work on The Bob Newhart Show, Taxi and Rhoda. He will be sorely missed.
Emmy-winning writer and producer Richard Eustis, who co-created Head of the Class, has died. He died on October 30 in Thousand Oaks, California. Mr. Eustis was 86.
Eustis and Michael Elias created and executive produced the 1986-1991 ABC sitcom Head of the Class. The series follows a group of gifted students in the Individualized Honors Program (IHP) at the fictional Millard Fillmore High School in Manhattan, and their history teacher Charlie Moore (Howard Hesseman).
They created and executive produced the short-lived 1992 ABC sitcom Billy. The spin-off of Head of the Class starred Billy Connolly as Billy MacGregor, a Scottish teacher who moves to America in order to build a new life for himself.
Eustis and Elias created and executive produced the short-lived 1993 CBS sitcom Tall Hopes. The series starred George Wallace, Anna Maria Horsford, Kenn Michael, Terrence Howard and Karla Green.
He wrote a Scrubs episode in 2004 and worked as a consultant for eight episodes from 2003 to 2004.
Eustis won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Special - Comedy-Variety or Music for An Evening with John Denver in 1975.
Survivors include his wife, Tiana, sons John and Ronald, daughter Madeleine, son-in-law Marcel Samek, grandson Julian Eustis Samek and granddaughters Colette Eustis Samek and Linh Eustis.
We thank him for bringing us Head of the Class and his other work on sitcoms. He will be sorely missed.

MeTV Network Fall 2015 Schedule; Remembering Alex Rocco and Roger Rees
The MeTV Network has announced their new fall program schedule premiering on Monday, August 31. The line-up features a timeless and memorable lineup of westerns, dramas, sci-fi, comedies and more. MeTV will have new programs coming to weekdays, prime time and Sundays. With shows chosen and scheduled to appeal to a wide audience of viewers looking to enjoy memorable entertainment, it's easy to see "That's Memorable, That's Me!" The new weeknight prime time line-up features the comedies Happy Days, Laverne & Shirley from 9-10apm and back-to-back Hogan's Heroes at 10, joining M*A*S*H at 7, The Andy Griffith Show (or Mayberry R.F.D. in select areas) at 8 and Carol Burnett and Friends at 11pm. Weekday mornings, beloved MeTV star Andy Griffith stars as folksy criminal-defense attorney Ben Matlock in the memorable legal drama Matlock airing at 10am to kick-off their law/crime block leading into Quincy and Rockford. Other changes to the weekday line-up will be early mornings and late nights, Welcome Back Kotter moves to 5:30am into Gilligan's Island at 6am, followed by Family Affair. At 7am, Donna Reed remains, but The Beverly Hillbillies will move to 7:30am into an hour of I Love Lucy at 8am.
Weeknights in late night following Perry Mason at 11:30pm will now have The Twilight Zone at 12:30am and Alfred Hitchcock Hour at 1am into the Mystery Movie at 2am. On Weekends, "MeTV's Sunday Funnies" delivers laughs Sunday afternoons with a three hour block of comedies including Gilligan's Island from 2-3pm, Happy Days & Laverne & Shirley from 3-4pm and I Love Lucy from 4-5pm, all following the continued success of "The Brady Bunch Brunch" from 12-2pm. More memorable comedy is coming to Sunday evenings with "MeTV's Last Laugh," including M*A*S*H, The Odd Couple, The Honeymooners, Cheers, The Bob Newhart Show, Mary Tyler Moore, Taxi, Get Smart and The Phil Silvers Show all from 9:30pm-2am. The Love Boat sets sail on Sundays from 5-7pm leading into The Andy Griffith Show (or Mayberry R.F.D. in select areas) at 7. Weekend late nights will have The Man from U.N.C.L.E. on both nights at 2am. Naked City and Route 66 will following on Sunday nights from 3-5am. Other weekend changes are all in mornings, with Welcome Back Kotter Saturdays 6-7am, Wagon Train Saturdays at 11am, Abbott & Costello Sundays 6-7am and F Troop Sundays 7-8am. Everything else remains the same as it is now. With returning favorites and new friends, MeTV's fall schedule is refreshed for weekdays and weekends. Actor Alex Rocco, who appeared as Jo Polniaczek's father Charlie in The Facts of Life, has died. He died on July 18 of cancer in Studio City, Los Angeles. Mr. Rocco was 79.
Rocco appeared in the recurring role of Charlie Polniaczek, Jo's father (Nancy McKeon), in The Facts of Life. He made 11 guest appearances from 1981-1988. In 1995, he guest starred as Michael O'Donnell, Annie O'Donnell's (Nancy McKeon) father, in an episode of the CBS sitcom Can't Hurt Love. He appeared in the recurring role of John Exstead Sr., Inspector Jinny Exstead's (Nancy McKeon) father, in 14 episodes of the Lifetime drama The Division from 2001-2004.
He starred as Al Floss, a fast-talking obnoxious Hollywood agent, in the 1989-1990 CBS sitcom The Famous Teddy Z. Rocco received an Emmy Award as Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series in 1990 for the role in the series, which starred Jon Cryer. He starred as Howie Ruscio in the 1991-1992 ABC sitcom Sibs. In 1994-1995, he played the fast-talking bookie Harry Rosetti in the Fox sitcom The George Carlin Show.
Some of his other sitcom guest appearances included Get Smart, That Girl, Lotsa Luck, Mary Tyler Moore, The Love Boat, The Golden Girls, Murphy Brown, Daddy Dearest, Partners, Hope & Gloria, Mad About You, Goode Behavior, Nick Freno: Licensed Teacher, Home Improvement, Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, Just Shoot Me! and Episodes. He provided his voice in episodes of The Simpsons, Pinky and the Brain and Family Guy.
His television drama guest appearances in the 1960s and 1970s included Batman, The F.B.I., Mission: Impossible, The Rookies, Get Christie Love!, Kojak, Cannon, Delvecchio, Police Story, The Rockford Files, Barnaby Jones, Baretta and Starsky and Hutch. His guest appearances in the 1980s included CHiPs, Matt Houston, Hardcastle and McCormick, St. Elsewhere, Simon & Simon, The A-Team, Murder, She Wrote, T.J. Hooker, Hotel and Hunter. Later guest appearances included Early Edition, Michael Hayes, Family Law, Walker, Texas Ranger, ER and The Practice. He had a recurring role in the Starz crime-drama series Magic City from 2012-2013.
Rocco appeared in dozens of films. He was best known for his portrayal of Moe Greene in The Godfather. Some of his other film credits included The Friends of Eddie Coyle, Freebie and the Bean, Herbie Goes Bananas, The Stunt Man, Cannonball Run II, Lady in White, Get Shorty, Just Write and The Wedding Planner.
Survivors include his wife Shannon; sons Sean and Lucien; daughters Kelli and Jennifer; grandchildren Anthony, Kiran, Sarame and Ravi; and sister Vivian. He was married to Sandie Elaine Rocco from 1966 until her death in 2002.
Mr. Rocco was a talented and versatile character actor. It was always great to see him return in The Facts of Life. Although he didn't have many appearances, they were always memorable. He will be greatly missed.

Actor Roger Rees, who played English multi-millionaire industrialist Robin Colcord in Cheers, has died. He died of brain cancer at his home in New York on July 10. Mr. Rees was 71.
Rees appeared as Robin Colcord, an English tycoon who was a love interest of Rebecca Howe (Kirstie Alley), in Cheers. He made 16 guest appearances from 1989-1991. He returned for an episode in the final season in 1993.
He starred as Malcolm in the British sitcom Singles from 1988-1989. In 1997, he had a recurring role as President Harrison Cross in the NBC sitcom Boston Common. His other sitcom guest appearances included Three Sisters and The Middle.
His drama roles included the 1994-1995 Fox sci-fi series M.A.N.T.I.S.. He played the recurring role of British Ambassador Lord John Marbury in The West Wing from 2000-2005. He appeared in 7 episodes of Warehouse 13 as James McPherson. Some of his other drama appearances included My So-Called Life, Oz, The Education of Max Bickford, Veritas: The Quest, Law & Order, Related, Grey's Anatomy, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, The Good Wife, Elementary and Forever.
Some of his film credits included Star 80, If Looks Could Kill, Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, Frida, The Prestige, The Pink Panther, Garfield: A Tale of Two Kitties and Survivor.
He was also known for his stage work. He won an Olivier Award and a Tony Award for his performance as the lead in The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby. Other parts included Shadowlands, Six Degrees of Separation and Indiscretions.
Survivors include his husband, playwright Rick Elice.
Mr. Rees was very funny as Robin Colcord in Cheers. He always did fine work on television and in films. He will be deeply missed.

TV Land's Classic Thanksgiving Weekend Marathon; Baby Daddy Gets Revenge Star
TV Land is going for its overstuffed Thanksgiving weekend marathon once again this year. We'll even see shows that are currently on hiatus from the line-up. On Thanksgiving Day (Thursday, Nov. 27), tune in for I Love Lucy from 9am-12pm, as the series makes an appearance for the holiday. The Andy Griffith Show will follow from 12pm-3pm. Then from 3pm-6pm, it's time for some family game time with Family Feud. Then during dinner time, join in with America's #1 family, the Cosbys with a block of The Cosby Show from 6pm-9pm. The regular schedule will air from 9pm-6am. The fun continues the next day on Friday (Nov. 28) with more three-hour blocks with Family Feud airing from 9am-12pm. Then it's time to strike rich with The Beverly Hillbillies from 12pm-3pm. And it can't be a three-hour tour without Gilligan's Island, which makes an appearance for the holiday, airing from 3pm-6pm. And finally, Friday marathons conclude with latest addition Hogan's Heroes from 6pm-9pm. It's going to be a classic Thanksgiving to remember with lots of laughs and games with your favorite TV families and friends!
Christa B. Allen drove off into the night on Revenge and onto the set of ABC Family's original hit comedy series Baby Daddy, which will return for its fourth season in early 2015. Since Charlotte left Revenge and is headed to rehab and a better life, Christa will recur in Season Four of Baby Daddy as Robyn, a funny, smart, athletic, corporate lawyer who works at Riley's (Chelsea Kane) law firm. When Riley begrudgingly sets Robyn up with best friend Danny (Derek Theler), they immediately hit it off. Christa's episodes will air in early 2015. Baby Daddy of course stars Jean-Luc Bilodeau, Derek Theler, Tahj Mowry, with Melissa Peterman and Chelsea Kane. The series is created and executive produced by Dan Berendsen (The Nine Lives of Chloe King, Sabrina, the Teenage Witch and Hannah Montana: The Movie). Baby Daddy is a multi-camera comedy that shoots in front of a live studio audience in Los Angeles.

Hogan's Heroes Returns to TV Land; CBS All Access Service Includes Classic TV
TV Land is bringing back another '60s sitcom. Now it is Hogan's Heroes. The classic sitcom will launch tonight (Monday, Oct. 20) and air weekdays from approx. 6-7:30pm. As a result, The Beverly Hillbillies will now only air weekdays from 9-10am, followed by The Andy Griffith Show from 10-11am. Hogan's Heroes will lead into encores of The Exes at 7:30pm and that lead into Family Feud from 8-9pm. Returning in primetime from 9-10pm will be Everybody Loves Raymond into Friends at 10. Back to Hogan's Heroes, the series last aired on TV Land in 2010. Hogan's Heroes, the barracks sitcom produced by Bing Crosby's company, premiered on CBS on Sept. 17, 1965, and ran in prime time until July 4, 1971. Set in Dusseldorf in the middle of World War II, the premise is that American prisoners of war would have no desire to escape from a German prison camp if they could use their superior intelligence to aid other allies in escaping, while making their surroundings as comfortable as a luxury resort. Naturally, in order to accomplish all this, the Nazis running the camp, which included the Commandant, Colonel Klink (Werner Klemperer), and his main prison guard, Sgt. Schultz (John Banner), would have to be fairly incompetent.

TV Guide Network to Launch Alan Thicke Reality Sitcom; Remembering Cynthia Lynn of Hogan's Heroes
Television icon, talk show host and comedic bestselling author Alan Thicke (Growing Pains), one of Hollywood's most famous dads on- and off-screen, will star in Unusually Thicke, a 14-episode original reality sitcom for TVGN premiering on Wednesday, April 16 at 10:00 PM, ET/PT. Unusually Thicke puts the spotlight on a real-life modern family - Alan, his beautiful, spicy and much younger wife Tanya, and his dry-witted, often opinionated 16-year-old son Carter - in a series that follows the fun and humor that happens in their everyday lives. Dozens of special appearances from Alan's friends and family are featured throughout the season, including: his son and Grammy Award-winning recording artist Robin Thicke, television star David Hasselhoff (Knight Rider, Baywatch), television star and comedian Bob Saget (Full House), NBA basketball legend Magic Johnson, NHL all-star Wayne Gretzky, TV star and former teen idol John Stamos (Full House), talk show host and political commentator/comedian Bill Maher (Politically Incorrect), actor/writer/producer and talk show host Tom Green (The Tom Green Show), and many more. Actress Cynthia Lynn, best known for her role as Colonel Klink's secretary Fraulein Helga in Hogan's Heroes, has died. She died on March 10 in Los Angeles, California, from multiple organ failure after being stricken with hepatitis. Ms. Lynn was 76.
Lynn appeared as Colonel Klink's secretary Fraulein Helga during the first season of Hogan's Heroes in 1965-1966. She returned in an uncredited part in the 1968 episode Will the Blue Baron Strike Again?. She played Eva in the 1971 episode Easy Come, Easy Go. In 1998, she was interviewed in the E! True Hollywood Story on Bob Crane.
Her sitcom guest appearances included The Farmer's Daughter, Mr. Terrific, The Odd Couple and Love, American Style. Other television shows on which she appeared included Surfside 6, The Eleventh Hour, Dr. Kildare, Mission: Impossible, The Six Million Dollar Man and Harry O. She appeared in the 1964 film Bedtime Story. In 2000, she released Escape to Freedom: An Autobiography of Cynthia Lynn.
Me-TV remembered Cynthia Lynn on March 12 by airing the Hogan's Heroes episode Movies Are Your Best Escape. The series airs Monday-Thursday at 9pm ET/PT.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Brando, whose father was Marlon Brando. Ms. Lynn was a Latvian-born beauty. She will be deeply missed.

TBS Orders Season 2 of Pete Holmes Show; MeTV Pays Tribute to Character Actor; Local NY Reporter on The Crazy Ones
TBS has renewed its new late-night series The Pete Holmes Show, which enjoyed a seven week run at the end of 2013. TBS has ordered an additional 13 weeks of the series starring popular comedian Pete Holmes and produced by Conaco LLC, the company behind the late-night hit Conan. New episodes of The Pete Holmes Show are set to launch Feb. 24 and will air Monday-Thursday nights at midnight (ET/PT), following Conan at 11. The Pete Holmes Show is produced for TBS by Conaco LLC, with Jeff Ross, David Kissinger, Nick Bernstein, Dave Rath and Conan O'Brien serving as executive producers. Taped before a live studio audience, the series showcases Pete's wide-ranging comedic skill set, which led him to be named one of Variety's "Top 10 Comics to Watch." The show packs live comedy, sketches and video pieces into a fast-paced half hour. The Pete Holmes Show has averaged nearly half a million viewers since its premiere, with a remarkably young median age of only 36. The show has quickly made a name for itself in the social media realm, with its viral videos like the X-Men parodies and interviews with Olympian Lolo Jones and NBA all star James Harden amassing more than 20 million views on YouTube and Pete Holmes.com. In addition, Pete and the show have also amassed nearly 300,000 fans through social media.
Canadian character actor Larry D. Mann, who guest starred in many sitcoms, has died. He died of natural causes on January 6 in Los Angeles. Mr. Mann was 91.
Mann had a regular role as Marty Warren, Jerry Webster's (Jerry Van Dyke) friend and lawyer, in the 1967-68 NBC sitcom Accidental Family. His many sitcom guest appearances included My Favorite Martian, Get Smart, Rango, Hey Landlord, He & She, Hogan's Heroes, Bewitched, Green Acres and The New Leave it to Beaver. He was also in The Sting as the train conductor/poker game dealer. He was the voice of Yukon Cornelius in Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.
The MeTV Network is paying tribute to the late character actor Larry D. Mann. MeTV will be airing the Hogan's Heroes episode "The Reluctant Target" in which he guest starred tonight (Thursday) at 9|8c. He has appeared on many other shows MeTV airs including Columbo, Night Gallery, Gunsmoke, Get Smart, Bonanza, Ironside, Dragnet, Love American Style, The Big Valley and Honey West.
And finally, WCBS2-NY's Kristine Johnson will appear as a guest star on the CBS sitcom The Crazy Ones tonight at 9|8c on CBS. Kristine plays a reporter covering a PR disaster at a big company represented by Simon (Robin Williams) and Sydney's (Sarah Michelle Gellar) advertising agency.

MeTV Fall 2013 Schedule "Fall for Me"; Sitcom Stars on Talk Shows (Week of August 12, 2013)
The MeTV Network has announced its "Fall for Me" fall 2013 schedule which will make its debut Monday, September 2, 2013. Joining the MeTV schedule for their maiden voyage on the network are two seaworthy series: Gilligan's Island and The Love Boat. Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale, a tale of a fateful trip....and set a course for adventure! Other brand new shows to the "Fall for Me" schedule, as well as the MeTV library, include the slapstick Civil War-era comedy F Troop, Wanted: Dead or Alive, starring Steve McQueen and beginning in November, The Alfred Hitchcock Hour joins the Sunday Night Noir line up. Among the key highlights for the schedule includes an exciting prime time line up, featuring back to back episodes of Gilligan's Island Monday through Thursday at 8PM, followed at 9 PM by the return of Hogan's Heroes. Then, F Troop joins the ranks at 9:30 PM. Each weeknight beginning at 10 PM, see back-to-back episodes of five classic sitcoms: The Mary Tyler Moore Show on Mondays, Taxi on Tuesdays, The Bob Newhart Show on Wednesdays, Rhoda on Thursdays and The Dick Van Dyke Show on Fridays. New this fall on Fridays in primetime beginning at 8 PM, it's the "MeTV Made for TV Movie." Every Friday night, MeTV will present a made for TV movie based on these iconic shows: Perry Mason, Columbo, The Mod Squad, The Brady Bunch, Canon, Vegas, Diagnosis Murder and The Andy Griffith Show.
While there are new additions to the line-up, there will also be series returning to the schedule. To make room, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, She-Ra: Princess of Power, The Odd Couple, The Mothers-In-Law, The Lucy Show, Burke's Law and That Girl will be off the schedule, while MeTV discontinues the Sunday MeTV Showcase and they say goodbye to Bewitched and I Dream of Jeannie (latter two will move to Antenna TV in late Fall). This fall's MeTV schedule has more than 60 different classic TV programs every week. No other Network has as much variety or as many of the most beloved series of all time. Rhoda Coming to MeTV Network in July 2013; Sitcom Stars on Talk Shows (Week of June 24, 2013)
The MeTV Network is reuniting Mary Richards (Mary Tyler Moore) and Rhoda Morgenstern (Valerie Harper)! Beginning Monday, July 8, The Mary Tyler Moore Show spin-off series Rhoda will join the MeTV line-up and will air weeknights at 9:30PM. This means both The Mary Tyler Moore Show and Rhoda, will air weeknights back-to-back beginning at 9:00PM. The addition of Rhoda will push back The Dick Van Dyke Show from 9:30 to 10PM, while The Odd Couple also gets pushed from 10PM to 10:30PM. The odd show out will be Hogan's Heroes, which was airing at 10:30pm, but will now be off the line-up. These changes are last minute additions to the already announced Summer of Me line-up on MeTV, which we announced before. No other changes will be made. Rhoda is a surprise and welcome addition, though. Relive the comedy and sometimes drama of two best friends who met in Minneapolis, shared an apartment, as well as years of laughter, tears and everything in between. Mary and Rhoda are together again on MeTV!
Rhoda was last seen on AmericanLife TV and FamilyNet a few years back. It was paired with another Mary Tyler Moore spin-off, Phyllis. While MeTV won't be airing Phyllis, we still get Rhoda on MeTV. This is a great way to remember Valerie Harper while she is still with us (as you know she is suffering from a rare, terminal cancer). Stay with us for continued updates!

MeTV, GSN Pay Tribute to Richard Dawson With Marathons; Just My Show Interviews CHiPs Star Larry Wilcox
MeTV Network is celebrating the life and career of Richard Dawson with a Hogan's Heroes special on Saturday, June 9. The episodes feature Dawson's character, Corporal Peter Newkirk, as he navigates the perils of war with his fellow POWs. The two episodes will air back-to-back at 6:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on its regular night and times on MeTV Network. Too bad we don't get more than two episodes, but this is at least something! Last night, Richard Dawson was remembered on MeTV with an episode of The Dick Van Dyke Show at 8:30pm with the episode "Racy Tracy Rattigan," where he played British actor Tracy Rattigan.
GSN (Game Show Network) announced that the network will pay tribute to iconic television host and actor Richard Dawson with a special tribute and a marathon of Dawson's most iconic episodes as host of Family Feud and as a panelist on Match Game. Dawson passed away in Los Angeles on Saturday, June 2, 2012, as we reported. The remembrance of Dawson will air through Thursday during the network's broadcasts of Family Feud and Match Game. The Richard Dawson marathon will air on Thursday, June 7, from 7:00pm-11:00pm (ET). Both series regularly air back-to-back weekday mornings at 8:00am & 8:30am.
As for the special marathon on Thursday, we will see four classic Feud half-hour episodes and two classic Match Games half-hour episodes from 7-10pm. At 10pm, GSN will air the first episode of the return of Richard Dawson on the new one-hour Family Feud in 1994, when he replaced the late Ray Combs.
Our good friend Eric of the Just My Show podcast has released his new episode. Special guest Larry Wilcox from CHiPs is on the show to celebrate the classic motorcycle cop series' 35th anniversary! Larry Wilcox of course played Erik Estrada's strait-laced partner, Officer Jonathan "Jon" Baker. Get the real story behind the show's scary motorcycle stunts, his relationship with series co-star Erik Estrada and the big upcoming CHiPs anniversary event this Fall. With a special appearance by Seven Mary Three's Casey Daniel. Plus, Arsenio Hall's comeback, the remote control and much more in the latest edition of New News About Old Stuff. CHiPs aired on NBC from 1977-1983.

Cheers Comes To USA Network, As Wings & Becker Leave; FX Midseason Has New Animated Comedy, Plus New Season of Archer
USA Network has acquired an off-network sitcom! The popular sitcom Cheers will be joining the USA Network line-up this January replacing Becker and Wings. The sitcom will air regularly Saturdays at 3am & 3:30am, but as with Wings & Becker, it will fill some half-hour during early morning slots on any given day as dictated by movie lengths. Cheers' first actual airing will be Wednesday, January 4 at 6am. Hopefully Cheers gets a more of a regular slot soon, or at least on another Universal-owned network like Universal HD. Cheers will continue airing on cable on Hallmark Channel, WGN America and ReelzChannel TV as well. As for Becker, since it will be leaving USA Network, the only place to catch it will be on ReelzChannel TV. Also as of January, Universal HD will remove Becker (maybe Universal networks are losing rights?), as well as Hogan's Heroes, so you might want to watch both of these sitcoms on Universal HD in December before they leave in January. And with it leaving USA Network, Wings will not be seen anywhere now.
In other Universal-owned cable network news, Cloo (formerly known as Sleuth) will have some cool Old School Saturday marathons in 2012 that they usually do once a month. We'll reveal to you what some are soon, so stay tuned for that. And yes, Universal HD is removing Becker and Hogan's Heroes in January, but they will continue to air Charlie's Angels and TJ Hooker, so don't worry classic TV fans. Unfortunately, the Friday night Universal Rediscovered TV block (the short lived series block from 9-11pm) will also be removed in January for a classic series block featuring an episode each of Charlie's Angels and TJ Hooker.
FX has announced release dates for two of its returning hits, as well as a brand new animated comedy series. FX opens the new year with the return of the Emmy Award®-winning hit drama Justified on January 17, and will continue to run Tuesdays at 10 PM ET/PT. Starring Timothy Olyphant. FX's acclaimed animated comedy series Archer returns for its third season starting January 19 and will air Thursdays at 10 PM ET/PT. Archer is an animated, half-hour comedy that revolves around the International Secret Intelligence Service (ISIS) and the lives of its employees. Archer's three part series "Heart of Archness," which aired this past September, gained 26% in P18-49 (1.37 vs. 1.08 million), 34% in M18-49 (1.04 million vs. 775,000) and 12% in Total Viewers (1.72 vs. 1.53 million) over its second season. And finally, FX will premiere its newest series with the animated comedy Unsupervised, which will premiere on January 19 at 10:30 ET/PT and will air immediately following Archer. This series is a comedy about optimistic best friends "Gary" and "Joel" navigating the harsh landscape of teenage life and trying to do what's right without any parental guidance whatsoever. The series was created by and is executive produced by Rob Rosell, Scott Marder and David Hornsby, all who currently serve as writer/producers on FX's hit comedy series It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia. It features an outstanding voice cast including Justin Long, Kristen Bell, Fred Armisen, Romany Malco, Kaitlin Olson and Alexa Vega, along with Rosell and Hornsby.

Universal HD September 2011 Schedule; ReelzChannel TV To Air 2011 Creative Arts Emmy Awards
Universal HD will continue to air classics Charlie's Angels and T.J. Hooker this fall along with classic comedy Hogan's Heroes, and the sitcom Becker. There is not much to report, but we will highlight the month anyway. You can continue to catch T.J. Hooker weeknights at 6pm & 3am and Charlie's Angels weeknights at 7pm & 2am. These two also air every other week every Wednesday in marathons from 8am-6pm. Universal HD will air a 24-hour Charlie's Angels Labor Day marathon on Monday, Sept. 5 starting at 6am. As of now, nothing is planned for the 35th anniversary on Sept. 22 or anything to tie in with the new series premiering on ABC on the night of the 35th anniversary. Also, catch the 90-minute pilot for the classic Charlie's Angels on Wednesday, Sept. 28 from 4:30-6pm and also the watch the 90-minute pilot for T.J. Hooker the next day (Thursday, Sept. 29) from 6pm-7:30pm.
Elsewhere, movies air during the day on Mondays and Thursdays, with The Unit on Tuesdays, and as we mentioned above "classic" Wednesdays. Universal HD Short-Lived Series for June/July 2011 Includes Aliens in America; Remembering Jeff Conaway of Taxi
Universal HD has a weekly block on Friday nights from 9pm-11pm called "Universal HD Rediscovered" and they will be adding some new ones this summer! First up, the drama Clubhouse returns to the block and will replace drama Wolf Lake starting Friday, June 3 at 9pm. Then a week later on Friday, June 17, the short-lived Fox sitcom Life on a Stick from 2005 (13 episodes, 8 unaired) will replace the 2003 series A Minute with Stan Hooper (13 episodes) at 10pm. And then the final change will be in the last-hour starting Friday, July 22 at 10:30pm, as The CW sitcom Aliens in America from 2007-08 (18 episodes) will replace the short-lived In-Laws from 2002-03 (15 episodes). It's great to see Universal HD continue to air short-lived sitcoms every Friday night. I personally am hoping they air something like The Knights of Prosperity, Crumbs and The Class soon. Something older, like from the 90s or earlier would be nice, too, but they seem to focus on the sitcoms of the last decade. To my knowledge, Life on a Stick and Aliens in America are premieres on Universal HD, so watch! Previously airing this year were comedies such as Out of Practice, Andy Richter Controls the Universe and The Bad Girls Guide. So as soon as every episode airs, they move on to another series.

Actor Jeff Conaway, best known for his roles in the movie Grease and the TV sitcom Taxi, has died. He was found unconscious on May 11 after suffering from pneumonia with sepsis. Conaway was placed in a medically induced coma at Encino Tarzana Medical Center and never recovered. His family took him off life support on May 26 and he died the following day at the age of 60.
Conaway appeared in the Broadway musical Grease for several years in different roles, including the lead male character, Danny Zuko. In 1978, he played Zuko's (John Travolta) buddy Kenickle in the movie Grease. He made his film debut in the 1971 romantic drama Jennifer on My Mind. Other film credits for him included Elvira: Mistress of the Dark, Jawbreaker, Ghost Writer, and Do You Wanna Know a Secret?.
Conaway's television career began in 1975 when he appeared on two episodes of Happy Days as Rocko. In 1978, he was cast as the vain, struggling, but goodhearted actor Bobby Wheeler in Taxi. Conaway left the series after the third season in 1981 due to reported drug abuse. He received two Golden Globe nominations in 1979 and 1980 for his role. Some of his other regular television roles were on the 1983 short-lived fantasy-spoof series Wizards and Warriors, the 1985 drama Berrenger's, a stint on the soap The Bold and the Beautiful in 1989-90, and the sci-fi series Babylon 5 from 1994-1999. His sitcom guest appearances included Mary Tyler Moore, Who's the Boss?, The Love Boat, Hope & Gloria, and George & Leo.
In early 2008, he appeared on the VH1 reality series Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew for two seasons. He had battled drug and alcohol addiction for many years. Mr. Conaway is survived by his sisters, Michelle and Cara. He will be deeply missed.

Conaway's television career began in 1975 when he appeared on two episodes of Happy Days as Rocko. In 1978, he was cast as the vain, struggling, but goodhearted actor Bobby Wheeler in Taxi. Conaway left the series after the third season in 1981 due to reported drug abuse. He received two Golden Globe nominations in 1979 and 1980 for his role. Some of his other regular television roles were on the 1983 short-lived fantasy-spoof series Wizards and Warriors, the 1985 drama Berrenger's, a stint on the soap The Bold and the Beautiful in 1989-90, and the sci-fi series Babylon 5 from 1994-1999. His sitcom guest appearances included Mary Tyler Moore, Who's the Boss?, The Love Boat, Hope & Gloria, and George & Leo.
In early 2008, he appeared on the VH1 reality series Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew for two seasons. He had battled drug and alcohol addiction for many years. Mr. Conaway is survived by his sisters, Michelle and Cara. He will be deeply missed.

BET 2011 Upfront; Remembering Sol Saks and Jon Cedar
We mentioned details on BET's plans for comedy last Friday, but now BET officially announced plans to renew The Game and Let's Stay Together for next season and the new comedy Reed Between the Lines premiering this fall.
We won't repeat ourselves, but we do have more details and casting for the upcoming new comedy. In Reed Between the Lines, Alex is an English professor. Carla's a psychologist. Theirs is quite the contemporary blended Black family, and the couple's hands are beyond full parenting teenage twins and an outspoken 7-year-old daughter. Watch as the couple navigates modern family life and marriage with warmth, wit and humor. Tracee Ellis Ross (Girlfriends), Malcolm-Jamal Warner (The Cosby Show), Anna Maria Horsford (Amen) and Melissa De Sousa (The Best Man) star in this new BET original scripted comedy series.
Sol Saks, a veteran comedy writer who created the classic ABC sitcom Bewitched, died of respiratory failure due to pneumonia on April 16 in Los Angeles at the age of 100. He began his career as a radio actor as a child. Saks would later write for radio comedies such as Duffy's Tavern and early television sitcoms including My Favorite Husband, Mr. Adams and Eve and I Married Joan. In addition to his writing work for radio and television, he wrote the screenplay for Cary Grant's final film in 1966, the comedy Walk, Don't Run. In 1985, he wrote The Craft of Comedy Writing.
In 1964, he created the long-running and successful Bewitched for ABC. According to harpiesbizarre.com, Saks drew inspiration for the story about a witch who weds a mortal man from two films: I Married a Witch (1942), starring Fredric March and Veronica Lake, and Bell Book and Candle (1958), with James Stewart and Kim Novak. He would write only the pilot episode of the series that was titled, "I, Darrin, Take This Witch, Samantha."

His career began as a youngster on the stage. He would travel across the country with his family and appear off-Broadway and in national tours in shows including The Deputy and South Pacific.
Cedar is probably best known for his regular role as the lovable Corporal Langenscheidt on the 1965-71 sitcom Hogan's Heroes. He played one of Sergeant Schult'z guards. Some of his many television guest appearances included Ben Casey, Mission: Impossible, Cannon, Barnaby Jones, Kojak, Starsky and Hutch, The Rockford Files, The Incredible Hulk, The Greatest American Hero, Dynasty, Hardcastle and McCormick, Diff'rent Strokes, Moonlighting, Murder, She Wrote, and Matlock. He wrote, produced and appeared in the 1978 Tony Curtis film The Manitou. Some of his other feature film roles included Foxy Brown, Death Hunt, Capricorn One and Murder in Mind.
Cedar is survived by his actor brother George, actress daughter, Loren Thompson, his producer son, Michael Cedar, and his longtime companion, Elynore Leigh. Mr. Cedar will be missed.

Me-TV Network and Me-Too in Chicago Celebrate New Year's With Marathons/Stunts
The Me-TV Network and the local station in Chicago Me-Too (WMEU) will celebrate the end of 2010 and the beginning of 2011 with some marathons and stunts! The Me-TV Network will air a marathon of first episodes in a stunt called "Day of Firsts" on Saturday, Jan. 1, 2011. The first episodes marathons begins at 11am ET with Perry Mason. Other first episodes include The Streets of San Francisco, The Big Valley, Hawaii Five-O, Hogan's Heroes, Happy Days, Family Affair, The Brady Bunch, The Beverly Hillbillies, Gomer Pyle, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Cheers, M*A*S*H and Taxi. The 12-hour marathon concludes at 11pm ET. The Me-TV Network is available now nationally, but as of now is only in Chicago, Milwaukee and South Bend. We hope to bring you some affiliate news in 2011, so stay with us, as it isn't easy.
Moving on to local station Me-Too in Chicago, Three Stooges fans in Chicago can ring in the new year on Me-Too with a 12-hour "Stooge-A-Palooza" marathon on Friday, December 31, 2010 beginning at noon CT. The marathon will be hosted by Rich Koz, who will also host a midnight countdown from Chicago's original Stooge headquarters! Each title was selected by Rich, who wanted to air episodes that are fan favorites. Plus, watch throughout the marathon for special segments with Rich, featuring his wit and wisdom about the Stooges! Ring in 2011 with Rich and The Stooges! Meanwhile, turn to Me-Too on New Year's Day for The Andy Griffith-thon, beginning at 11 AM CT on Saturday, Jan. 1, 2011 for timeless Mayberry classics! From Aunt Bee's pickles to Barney's single bullet, these are some of the most popular titles in the series. The 12-hour marathon will conclude at 11pm CT. The Andy Griffith Show is regularly scheduled weekdays at 12 & 12:30 PM CT and Stooge-A-Palooza is regularly scheduled Saturday evenings at 7:00 PM, both on Me-Too Chicago. Me-Too Chicago can be seen on WCIU-TV 26.4, Comcast Chicago 247/358, RCN 22, WOW 171 and U-verse 23.

Universal HD Fall 2010 Schedule Has Charlie's Angels, TJ Hooker; Remembering Bernie West - Legendary Producer
Today we continue our fall schedule barrage with a lesser known network, but they are adding two classic series! The network is Universal HD and we last covered them a few months ago when we announced they have acquired The Unit. We also mentioned that they air short-lived series on Friday nights, and come this October, they will be changing up the line-up again. Universal HD's Fall 2010 schedule begins Friday, October 1 with the additions of classic Sony Pictures series Charlie's Angels and T.J. Hooker. They both will air weekdays and also in stack blocks. Charlie's Angels will air weekdays at 6am and 3am with a stack on Mondays from 9am-7pm. Meanwhile, T.J. Hooker will air weekdays at 7pm and 2am with a stack on Tuesdays from 9am-7pm.
As for the short-lived series, joining the line-up on Fridays starting Oct. 1 will be medical drama 3 lbs at 9pm, followed by sitcoms Out of Practice at 10 and Andy Richter Controls the Universe at 10:30. These will be replacing the current batch of Cuts, Love Inc., Sex Love & Secrets and Love Monkey. Leaving the schedule completely will be Six Feet Under, Nash Bridges and That's Life, while Becker will only air Fridays now from 11:30am-2pm & 4:30pm-7pm with Hogan's Heroes from 9:30am-11:30am & 2pm-4:30pm.
Marathon wise, there will be a Six Feet Under 48-hour marathon during Labor Day weekend (Sept. 5-6), a Charlie Angel's 24-hour marathon on Columbus Day (Oct. 11), and a 24-hour marathon of short-lived drama Haunted starring Matthew Fox on Halloween (Oct. 31)

Today we also pay tribute to legendary producer Bernie West. He was an Emmy-winning screenwriter and producer who worked on the classic sitcoms All in the Family, The Jeffersons and Three's Company. He was part of the famous trio of producers known as "NRW" (Nicholl-Ross-West). Mr. West died on Thursday, July 29 at his Beverly Hills home of complications from Alzheimer's disease.
Mr. West won his Emmy in 1973 for writing, with Mickey Ross, the "Bunkers and the Swingers" episode on All in the Family. He received two other nominations as a producer for his work on All in the Family and Three's Company. In 1971, he and Ross submitted a script for All in the Family to Norman Lear and began what Bernie referred to as his first steady job. They worked on the CBS sitcom from 1971-74, where they were writers, script consultants, story editors and eventually, with Don Nicholl, producers. West and Ross created the character of Maude, played by Bea Arthur, on a 1972 episode of All in the Family that spun into another long-running CBS series. And he and his partners worked on the 1974 pilot script of NBC's Chico and the Man.
Nicholl, Ross and West (NRW) later wrote and produced for The Jeffersons, which ran for 10 years (1975-1985), and then Three's Company for eight seasons (1977-1984). Other series included The Dumplings (1976) and two spin-offs of Three's Company: The Ropers (1979-80) and Three's a Crowd (1984-85). Don Nicholl passed away in 1980, while Mickey Ross passed away last May (2009), so now all three members of NRW are no longer with us.
Before Mr. West was producing, he was acting. Among his early acting credits were appearances on The Garry Moore Show, Dixon of Dock Green, The Arthur Murray Show, The Jack Paar Show, The Ed Sullivan Show, The Phil Silvers Show, Car 54, Where Are You? and Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C. He also was on an episode each of All in the Family and What's Happening Now!! years later.
