- Seth Meyers is developing The Game Room, a new workplace comedy for NBC. (Deadline)
- Are we getting a Glee reboot? A script has been written and apparently the original cast is on board. (Entertainment Weekly)
- Despite being a hit, Prime Video has decided to not renew Ride or Die for a second season, but Paramount is not giving up and shopping it to other outlets (perhaps Paramount+?). (Deadline)
- There is still some uncertainty on what is going to happen with the Warner Bros. and Paramount merger, but it's entirely possible that it could be a done deal in the next few weeks, or even days, and it could also involve Comedy Central and BET being sold to another entity. (Variety)
- If you're looking for Ken Jenkins to return to Scrubs in his role as Dr. Kelso, even just for one episode, don't get your hopes up too high. (Deadline)
- For many who watch The Price is Right and remembers how elaborate the series used to be, particularly as it climbed in popularity throughout the Bob Barker years, the cheapening of the show has been evident and recent years, and for the newest season the budget cuts are impossible to ignore. - MeTV Toons has a special treat for classic sitcom fans in their new Sunday night lineup that starts tomorrow, which will feature The Fonz and the Happy Days Gang, The New Adventures of Gilligan, Jeannie, and the 1973 animated series, The Addams Family.
- Saturday Night Live is back for a new season tonight with host Jalen Brunson.
- The Fox Sunday night lineup returns tomorrow night, but don't go looking for staples like Bob's Burgers, Family Guy, or even the newly returned American Dad, as The Simpsons is the only original staple coming back tomorrow night (the rest will come later in the season).
- Scrubs returns Wednesday on ABC.

- If you're waiting for the second season of The Wonder Years, which ABC picked up as a midseason show this year, you'll have to keep waiting until more end of season, as it will debut in the summer. (Variety)
- You'll forget what decade you're in when NBC brings out their midseason lineup when you look at your TV listings and see Quantum Leap, Magnum P.I., Night Court, and Law & Order on the lineup. (Hollywood Reporter)
- Make no mistake, people are watching Abbott Elementary, and ratings for the second season premiere set some record highs for ABC. (Deadline)
- Netflix is no longer the only streaming service out there, and has to find a way to stand out--and exclusive rights to certain live sports may be that way. (Deadline)
- Rich Eustis, writer and creator of Head of the Class, has died at age 86. (Variety)
- NCIS is preparing for a crossover event between all three of the series. (TVLine)
- Glee creator Ryan Murphy now says that the series should've ended after the death of Cory Monteith. (Deadline)

- The sort of odd Fox Christmas limited series, The Moodys, has been renewed for a second season. (Variety)

- NBC launches Peacock this week, but much like the HBO Max drama, it looks like it may not be available for the two largest streaming devices. (CNBC)

Welcome Back (to School), Kotter Marathon on Antenna TV; Lea Michele Gets ABC Holiday Movie

School is in session at Antenna TV with the "Welcome Back (to School) Kotter" Marathon of Welcome Back, Kotter airing on Saturday, August 17, featuring everyone's favorite teacher, Mr. Kotter and his Sweathog students, led by Vinnie Barbarino (John Travolta). With 18 episodes, Antenna TV's Welcome Back (to School) Kotter Marathon airs on Saturday, August 17 from 1-10pm ET. Welcome Back, Kotter regularly airs on Antenna TV right after school on Weekdays at 3:00pm ET/12:00pm PT. The series is set in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn and starred Gabe Kaplan as a wisecracking high school teacher in charge of a racially and ethnically diverse remedial class called the "Sweathogs." The sitcom aired on ABC from 1975-79 and starring Kaplan, Marcia Strassman, John Sylvester White, Robert Hegyes, Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs, Ron Palillo and John Travolta.

ABC announced that it has picked up a special holiday movie Same Time, Next Christmas set to air in December 2019, from Freeform Studios. The movie stars New York Times bestselling author and singer, Lea Michele, who is known for her role as Rachel Berry on the Fox hit series Glee. In Same Time, Next Christmas, Lea Michele will play the lead role of Olivia Henderson, a young woman who met her childhood sweetheart during her family's annual Christmas visit to Hawaii. After being separated by distance and years, the two reunite at the same Hawaii resort years later and the old chemistry between them flares up anew - but circumstances conspire to keep them apart. In addition, Lea Michele is set to release her first Christmas album this coming holiday.
