Abbott Elementary Returns Big After 7 Day Viewing; BET Renews ComicView: Rooftop Series
Abbott Elementary returned for Season 6 with 6.34 million Total Viewers and a 2.07 rating among Adults 18-49 after seven days of multiplatform viewing, with the show's largest overall audience in a year and its best performance among the key Adult demo in a year and a half - since 10/15/25 and 3/26/25, respectively. The premiere episode scored the show's best streaming performance since Season 4, based on views over seven days on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ - since 1/8/25.
Abbott Elementary rose by triple digits over its initial Live+Same Day audience in both Total Viewers (+183% - 6.34 million vs. 2.24 million) and Adults 18-49 (+527% - 2.07 rating vs. 0.33 rating). And as teachers and staff settled in for a new school year, the Season 6 debut jumped over the show's Season 5 average in both Total Viewers (+7% - 6.34 million vs. 5.91 million) and Adults 18-49 (16% - 2.07 rating vs. 1.79 rating).
On this past week's Abbott Elementary ("Tryouts," aired yesterday Wednesday, October 21, on ABC at 8:30 p.m. EDT/PDT, and today on Hulu), the step team tries out for a major competition, Melissa and Barbara take a special ed certification course, while Janine, Gregory and Jacob welcome a new substitute.
BET announced a second season of ComicView: Rooftop Series, with Chris "CP" Powell returning as host. The revival of the landmark franchise behind some of Black comedy's biggest careers builds on a debut season that ranked as cable's No. 1 new unscripted series among Black viewers this summer. The 20-episode order puts 60 comedians on the Hollywood rooftop and cements the series as an anchor of the network's Comedy Fun Night.
Veteran comics Affion Crockett, Cocoa Brown, Lavell Crawford, and Luenell will join the lineup alongside rising talent. Powell comes back fresh off a breakout run that included his BET special Sunday After Six, a spot among the 10 comedians selected for Netflix's The Shortlist at the 2026 Netflix Is a Joke Festival, and his work as a writer and guest star across multiple episodes as "Mac" on the Paramount+ Original series Diarra From Detroit, from BET Studios and Khalabo Ink Society.
