Married with Children Now on WGN America; black-ish Enters National Syndication and Free Sneakers Contest
Married...with Children is gone from TBS, but now those rights are going to WGN America. Viacom networks (Logo, MTV2) will still air the program, as that is a different contract. WGN America hosted a special marathon event of Married...with Children on Saturday, September 15 from 11am - 11pm ET/10am - 10pm CT as well as on Sunday, September 16 from 9 am - 12am ET/8am - 11pm CT. The network aired 54 episodes of the long-running family sitcom in sequential order, beginning with the series' first episode during its network debut. Now it joins the regular line-up beginning tonight! The hit sitcom will air in late fringe every weeknight. Mostly from 12-2am, but check your local listings for exact timings. There will also be weekend morning/afternoon airings.
Married...with Children follows the lives of Al Bundy (Ed O'Neill), a once glorious high school football player turned hard-luck women's shoe salesman; his obnoxious wife, Peggy (Katey Sagal); their attractive, promiscuous, and clueless daughter, Kelly (Christina Applegate); and their girl-crazy, wisecracking son, Bud (David Faustino). Their neighbors are the upwardly mobile Steve Rhoades (David Garrison) and his feminist wife Marcy (Amanda Bearse), who later gets remarried to Jefferson D'Arcy (Ted McGinley), a white-collar criminal who becomes her "trophy husband" and Al's sidekick.
The critically acclaimed hit family comedy series black-ish announced that it has teamed up with prolific designer and influencer Dominic Ciambrone, also known as The Shoe Surgeon, to customize five pairs of black-ish branded sneakers. Playing off of Johnson family patriarch Dre's fondness for Nikes, the five unique pairs of sneakers were exclusively designed and constructed by The Shoe Surgeon to celebrate the launch of black-ish in national syndication five nights a week, beginning today (Monday, Sept. 17, 2018). All five pairs will be included in a prize package posted on Omaze, an online fundraising platform, with proceeds benefiting Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
The "Kick it with The Johnsons" online campaign kicked off on Omaze on Friday, Sept. 14, and will conclude on Oct. 26, at which time a grand prize winner will be randomly selected. In addition to the full set of five custom pairs of black-ish branded kicks, the prize package will also include a trip for two to Los Angeles to attend a black-ish table read and a meet and greet with members of the cast, as well as a tour of the iconic Walt Disney Studios lot in Burbank, California. The Emmy® and Golden Globe®-nominated comedy black-ish takes a fun yet bold look at one man's determination to establish a sense of cultural identity for his family. The series stars Anthony Anderson as Andre "Dre" Johnson, Tracee Ellis Ross as Rainbow Johnson, Yara Shahidi as Zoey Johnson, Marcus Scribner as Andre Johnson, Jr., Miles Brown as Jack Johnson, Marsai Martin as Diane Johnson, Laurence Fishburne as Pops, Jenifer Lewis as Ruby, Peter Mackenzie as Mr. Stevens and Deon Cole as Charlie Telphy. Entering its fifth season on ABC, the series is also airing weeknights in national syndication. Go to blackishtv.com for times and channels (includes WPIX in NY, KCAL in LA and WGN in Chicago).
Fans who donate $10 through www.omaze.com/blackish will be entered for the chance to win black-ish prize package and support the incredible work of Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
