SitcomsOnline Digest: Nancy O'Dell to Host New Daytime True Crime Series; NBC to Use AI Clips of Al Michaels' Voice for Olympics
Welcome to SitcomsOnline Digest! It's a very slow pre-Independence Day week (and that means next week will probably be even slower), but we have some news about a new daytime TV show and more. Let's get going!
HIGHLIGHTS FROM SITCOMSONLINE.COM AND AROUND THE WEB
- Now that the sleazy daytime talk shows are dying out in daytime TV, it seems true crime is the future, and Nancy O'Dell is going to host a true crime daytime show starting in the fall. (Deadline)
- When NBC airs the Summer Olympics, you might be hearing Al Michaels, except it will really be A.I. Michaels. (NBC News)
- Drew Carey has revealed that many contestants who appear on The Price is Right are often high or have been drinking when they "come on down." (Deadline)
- Martin Mull, known for his roles on Roseanne and many other series, has died at age 80. (AP News)
- Actor Bill Cobbs has died at age 90. (SitcomsOnline)
WEEKLY PLANNER (JUNE 29 - JULY 5)
- There is a Batman marathon on Catchy Comedy this weekend.
- Twilight Zone marathons for holidays are become more hit or miss for Syfy, but they do have an all day one on Independence Day, while Heroes and Icons has one that runs Thursday through Sunday.
- If you're not already watching it (because somehow it was omitted in here last week, but we think most people who were awaiting it knew anyway), MeTV Toons launched on Tuesday.
