Raising the comedy stakes, the second season of the hybrid family sitcom/improvisation series Just Roll With It is set to premiere Sunday, March 15 (8:45 p.m. EDT/PDT), on Disney Channel and DisneyNOW. Comedian J.C. Currais becomes a series regular cast member, in the fan-favorite role of Gator, and John Ratzenberger (Disney/Pixar's Toy Story, Cheers) guest stars in a recurring role as Blair's grandfather. The season also includes "wild" animals, real-life wedding vows with legal matrimony as part of a storyline and feats of epic proportions. The studio audience votes for wacky scenarios that the cast must improvise their way through during the show taping. Additional season two guest stars include Charles Shaughnessy (The Magicians, The Nanny), Johnny Pemberton (Superstore), Jason Earles (Disney's Hannah Montana), Debra Wilson (MADtv), Jillian Shea Spaeder (Disney's Walk the Prank) and Kingston Foster (Disney's ZOMBIES).

Just Roll With It follows the newly blended Bennett-Blatt family as they navigate everyday family life and the ups and downs of adolescence. The series stars Tobie Windham and Suzi Barrett as fun-loving newlyweds and parents, Byron and Rachel; talented young actors Ramon Reed and Kaylin Hayman as preteen step-siblings, Owen and Blair; and J.C. Currais as The Gator. In the season two premiere, the Bennett-Blatt family is finally rescued from the sea only to discover Rachel's mischievous and somewhat unpredictable dad (Ratzenberger) - who relishes in being a doting but unruly Grandpa - has been kicked out of his retirement community and needs to move in with the family.

Quibi announced it has greenlit comedy series Q Talks, hosted by comedian, James Veitch. Veitch's TED Talk is one of the most watched talks in history. Individual episodes of Q Talks will feature Regina Hall, Lisa Kudrow, Neicy Nash, Jimmy O. Yang and Kristen Schaal. Q Talks is an original comedy format where celebrity speakers give expert talks - on topics they've never heard before, from a script they've never seen before, presented to them via a rigged teleprompter. To make it to the end of their talk, they'll have to say - and do - anything the prompter tells them. Quibi launches April 6, 2020. 

Antenna TV is not done with adding new shows in 2020! After the announcement of shows a few weeks back of five Sony-owned sitcoms, we have another addition and a possible acquisition as well. Antenna TV has officially acquired the '60s sitcom That Girl starring Marlo Thomas to start airing in January 2020. The series last aired on the multicast network MeTV for a few years from 2012-14 and on cable before that on networks like TV Land. That Girl aired from 1966-71 on ABC and was about Ann Marie (Marlo Thomas), an aspiring (but only sporadically employed) actress, who moves from her hometown of Brewster, New York, to try to make it big in New York City. The sitcom also starred Ted Bessell, Lew Parker, Bernie Kopell and Rosemary DeCamp.

There is still more info to come on That Girl coming to Antenna TV, so stay tuned, but for now it is one of five sitcoms (joining The Facts of Life, Diff'rent Strokes, Designing Women and NewsRadio) that start in January. And more shows may be coming beyond that. We already know Who's the Boss? starts in Fall 2020, but there is word that '80s sitcom It's a Living will also join the Antenna TV line-up sometime next year. Details are still very slim on that, so keep it right here for continued updates on if and when that series joins the line-up. That Girl is from CBS Television Distribution, while It's a Living is from Warner Bros. 2020 should be a major year for Antenna TV with many sitcoms joining the line-up!

Disney Channel has picked up a second season of the unique new comedy Just Roll With It and entered into an overall development deal with its creators and executive producers, Adam Small and Trevor Moore, to write and produce programming for Disney Channel and Disney+. Production on season two will commence in September. Just Roll With It blends a scripted family sitcom with improvisational elements and allows the studio audience the opportunity to vote on the outcome of certain scenes. As previously announced, Disney Channel will present a special LIVE telecast of the series, Just Roll With It: You Decide LIVE! The one-hour special, directed by Emmy(R)-nominated director Sandra Restrepo (Jimmy Kimmel Live!, 2 Dope Queens), will give viewers nationwide an opportunity to join the studio audience in the fun of determining plot twists in real-time as they watch along and vote in DisneyNOW, on Friday, Oct. 4 (9:00 p.m. EDT/6:00 p.m. PDT).

Two adult actors who intuitively know what's funny to kids - Tobie Windham (Disney's Walk the Prank) and Suzi Barrett (Upright Citizens Brigade comedy group, Disney's Kirby Buckets) - play fun-loving newlyweds Byron and Rachel. Byron is an on-air radio personality on BEATZ 101 and Rachel is a decorated military veteran who now produces his daily show in their hometown of Akron, Ohio. At unpredictable intervals unknown to the cast or audience, the scripted action is suddenly interrupted by the sound of a foghorn. The actors are sequestered backstage while the studio audience uses electronic voting devices at their seats to select which of the three comedic scenarios they would like to see take place next. After votes are cast, the crew quickly resets and the actors return to the stage to continue the unscripted scene, improvising throughout it.

Netflix has renewed Atypical, the critically acclaimed original series created, written and executive produced by Robia Rashid (How I Met Your Mother, Will & Grace) for a third season. Atypical season 3 will feature 10 half-hour episodes. In season two of the series, which launched in September 2018, Elsa and Doug faced the aftermath of their marriage crisis and Casey tried to adjust to her new school, while Sam prepared for life after graduation. The cast returning for season three has not yet been confirmed. Disney Channel has ordered Just Roll With It, an innovative multi-camera sitcom from co-showrunners Adam Small and Trevor Moore (Disney XD's Walk the Prank). The first-of-its-kind format is a hybrid of a scripted family comedy and an improvisational comedy, in which the studio audience members select the outcome of certain scenes while the cast just rolls with it. Filmed before a studio audience, the unique series is centered around the blended Bennett-Blatt family and features step-siblings Blair and Owen, who could not be more different. Blair, played by Kaylin Hayman (One Day at a Time), often a rebel without a cause, is the polar opposite of her strict, regimented, ex-military mom Rachel, played by Suzi Barrett (Kirby Buckets). Ramon Reed (Broadway musical The Lion King) plays Owen, a born athlete with a taste for scheduling and organization, who is always trying to clean up his creative and charismatic father and morning radio show host Byron, played by Tobie Windham (Walk the Prank). Despite their differences, the Bennett-Blatt clan, and the actors who play them, know how to take whatever life - and the studio audience - throws at them ... and "Just Roll With It."

At the sound of a horn, the actors break from the scene and go backstage while the audience decides which of three outrageous stunts will take place next. Once votes are cast electronically, the actors return to the stage to continue the scene, waiting for the next surprise, which could be anything from being asked to eat a disgusting sardine, grasshopper and ice cream burrito to a man falling through the roof of the Bennett-Blatt home.
