SitcomsOnline Digest: The Chase Considered for ABC Primetime Lineup; Plex Adds 80 Free Linear Channels

  • Game Show Network has aired a US version of the British game show The Chase in the past (and it's still a popular rerun on the network), but now, it looks like ABC may be eyeing a primetime version featuring the Jeopardy! all stars. (Digital Spy)
  • Free streaming services that resemble cable TV are popping up everywhere lately, and the newest entry into this segment is Plex. (Deadline)
  • It looks like the cable network G4 TV (which had previous lives as ZDTV and TechTV) is coming back in some fashion, though we don't know the details yet. (AV Club)
  • Remember that 2015 episode of Saturday Night Live with Donald Trump as the host? Colin Jost has plenty to say about it. (Vulture)
  • We haven't seen the pandemic play a role in episodes of scripted TV series yet, but get ready, it's coming! (Deadline)
  • Pandemics can't stop the Fox animated comedies from premiering on time. (SitcomsOnline)
