SitcomsOnline Digest: Pilot Season Gets in Full Swing; Jeff Franklin Gets Booted from Fuller House

Welcome to SitcomsOnline Digest! We're starting to get into pilot season and we're hearing a lot about new pilots, and only have a small bit of that news here (there are way too many to mention them all, and a lot will never make it to air anyway). Additionally, Jeff Franklin has been fired from Fuller House, and we're hearing some Murphy Brown casting news. Let's get going!

HIGHLIGHTS FROM SITCOMSONLINE.COM AND AROUND THE WEB
  • Taran Killam, Leighton Meester, and Brad Garrett have all come together for a proposed single camera pilot for ABC, called Single Parents. (Variety)
  • Cedric the Entertainer has been cast as a neighbor in a pilot for CBS. (Variety)
  • The proposed Magnum PI reboot has a star attached to it. (Deadline) 
  • Full House (and Fuller House) may very well be a Jeff Franklin Production, but Jeff Franklin has been fired from Fuller House following some verbally abusive behavior on the set. (Variety) 
  • It's been over a decade since Fox (infamously) shelved a much hyped special where O.J. Simpson reportedly confessed to murder, but now, they're finally repackaging it and airing it after all. (Business Insider)
  • More Murphy Brown cast members have been announced for the reboot, and they are familiar faces. (SitcomsOnline)

  • The NBC series Champions debuts on Thursday night.
  • Love is all around on Decades, as they air a marathon of The Mary Tyler Moore Show all weekend.
  • A new (regular) daily lineup begins on Decades on Monday, and you can see it here.
  • The Oscars are airing Sunday, and ABC will be previewing a new talk show, Sundays with Alec Baldwin, at 11:35 PM ET/10:00 PM PT.

When the insanity at the DMV causes a new hire to quit, Colette worries Noa will follow and tries to make things better despite colleague Gregg’s advice. Meanwhile, employees and customers struggle through a sweltering L.A. day with a barely functional air conditioner.

TV We Love - "The Brady Bunch" (The CW, 8:00PM ET/PT)
The Brady Bunch stars Barry Williams and Christopher Knight open up about growing up Brady, sharing never-before-told stories of America's favorite blended family.
