SitcomsOnline Digest: Netflix's Disjointed to End After One Season; Will & Grace Revival Coming to DVD

- Netflix almost never cancels anything, but for anybody who has tried to sit through even one episode, it probably isn't a huge surprise that the sitcom Disjointed got canceled after one season. (Hollywood Reporter)
- Meanwhile, another Netflix series that is much beloved, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, is set to return for a fourth season on May 30, but only with a half season release instead of a full season. (Variety)
- TBS has released a trailer for their new sitcom starring Tracy Morgan and Tiffany Haddish, The Last O.G., which debuts on April 3. (Deadline)
- It's been pretty clear for some time that he wouldn't be back, but now it is official, Jeffrey Tambor is no longer part of the Transparent cast. (NPR)
- Although Ellen Degeneres and Steve Harvey have been successful in finding an audience, there haven't been any other truly successful daytime TV talk shows that have debuted in quite a while, and now Harry Connick Jr.'s talk show is getting the boot. (Hollywood Reporter)
- Scott Baio is in the news again for even more allegations of sexual misconduct on the Charles in Charge set, this time involving Alexander Polinsky. (Deadline)
- The CW, much like The WB and UPN before it, struggled for years to find an audience, but they seem to have found that in recent years with numerous series that have developed a cult following, and will be expanding to Sunday nights in the fall. (Adweek)
- Netflix's Grace and Frankie has been renewed for a fifth season. (SitcomsOnline)
HOME MEDIA HIGHLIGHTS
- No release date has been given yet, but DVDs for Will & Grace (The Revival) - Season One are available for preorder on Amazon.
WEEKLY PLANNER (FEBRUARY 17 - FEBRUARY 23)
- Last weekend, it was a Diff'rent Strokes marathon all weekend on Decades, and this weekend, it will be the spinoff, The Facts of Life.
- Amazon Prime will be releasing the second half of the first season of The Tick on Friday.
- It isn't quite like the other marathons they do for the series, but Syfy will be airing an 8 hour marathon of Twilight Zone for President's Day (Monday) morning.
- Meanwhile, TV Land has a M*A*S*H marathon in store for Monday.
