Hulu Comedy Freakish Gets New Faces; Hallmark Gets Ready for Christmas in July
Hulu's original teen, horror comedy series Freakish has been picked up for a second season containing 10 half-hour long episodes. In season two, the Kent High School students are still trapped inside by the deadly explosion and will find their relationships tested when a new group of survivors arrives. Friendships will be lost, enemies made, and ventures outside into the dangerous unknown will present life and death stakes for the students. Leo Howard, Liza Koshy, Adam Hicks, Meghan Rienks, Melvin Gregg, and Tyler Chase will reprise their roles. Joining the fun in season two are: Brant Daugherty (Pretty Little Liars) has been cast as Jake - Birdie's (played by Tati Gabrielle) brother-like figure and fellow Keller Chemical experimentee. Ryan McCartan (The Rocky Horror Picture Show) has been cast as Oliver "Ollie"- Anka's older brother and heir to the family empire. Saxon Sharbino (Poltergeist) has been cast as Anka - The favored daughter of a wealthy family, Anka is smart, manipulative and always two steps ahead of the pack.
Also joining the cast are: Niki DeMartino has been cast as Sadie - A recent Kent High transfer student, Sadie passes the apocalypse by listening to music and ignoring pretty much everyone. Jordan Calloway (Riverdale) has been cast as Zane Hiatt - Violet's ex-boyfriend is a player whose handsome face and smooth demeanor are hard for most women to resist. Amanda Steele has been cast as Hailey - A normal girl who had her future planned out before the apocalypse disrupted it. She has no real survival skills, but is sweet and kind. And Jake Busey (From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series) has been cast as Earl - He's an avid hunter and fancies himself a survivalist who saw an opportunity to prove his mettle when the plant exploded.
Crown Media Family Networks, the #1 holiday viewing destination, gifts viewers with an early Christmas present in celebration of its annual programming events Christmas Keepsake on Hallmark Channel and Gold Crown Christmas on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. Both events will feature treasured holiday favorites with celebrated stars including Candace Cameron Bure, Cameron Mathison, Lori Loughlin, Lacey Chabert, Danica McKellar, Rachel Boston and many more! Both events are highlighted with world premieres of original holiday movies Home for Christmas Day starring Catherine Bell and Victor Webster and The Christmas Cure starring Brooke Nevin, Steve Byers and Patrick Duffy.
Gold Crown Christmas on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries will roll out the most popular original movies that have aired on the network during the two-week event (July 7-16). Viewer favorites include The Christmas Card, A Christmas Wish, Magic Stocking, Debbie Macomber's Dashing Through The Snow, The Christmas Note and more. Christmas Keepsake features a two-week lineup (July 14-23) of Hallmark Channel favorites including Christmas Under Wraps and Christmas Detour both starring Candace Cameron Bure, Crown For Christmas starring Danica McKellar, A Christmas Melody starring Mariah Carey and Lacey Chabert and Christmas in Homestead starring Taylor Cole and Michael Rady.
