SitcomsOnline Digest: New Netflix Series to Include Full House Reboot; More Lucy on Blu-ray; Mill Creek Wrapping Up Married... with Children

Welcome to SitcomsOnline Digest! It seems that Netflix is on a roll with new series these days, Grey's Anatomy fans are full of emotions (to say the least) after Thursday night's episode, and CBS is bringing Lucy fans more to love on Blu-ray. Let's get going!

HIGHLIGHTS FROM SITCOMSONLINE.COM AND AROUND THE WEB
  • Even though we've been talking about it for months, we sort of thought it was only a joke that would never come to fruition, but amazingly, it looks as if Fuller House is a real thing that is coming to Netflix. (TV.com)
  • Aziz Ansari is getting a new comedy series on Netflix as well, it seems. (Time)
  • Grey's Anatomy fans are incredibly upset after the developments on Thursday night's episode (don't click on this link if you don't know why). (New York Post)
  • Friday night has typically been described as a time slot where things go to die, but don't tell that to the 16.9 million Americans who watched Diane Sawyer's interview with Bruce Jenner. (LA Times)
  • Sawyer Sweeten, who played the role of one of the twins on Everybody Loves Raymond, died this week at the age of 19. (New York Times)
  • Even if we don't know if they want to live in the Fuller House yet, Nickelodeon is getting a whole lot of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. (SitcomsOnline

HOME MEDIA HIGHLIGHT

  • It seemed a bit uncertain whether or not CBS was going to move ahead with more I Love Lucy on Blu-ray, but now we know that I Love Lucy - Ultimate Season 2 will be coming to Blu-ray on July 14. While it comes at a $129.99 MSRP, it is worth noting that the first season was released at a similar MSRP and now sells for about 1/3 that amount.
  • We can't seem to find a preorder link for it just yet, but Mill Creek's website isn't going to leave Married... with Children fans without the final season, as they will release Married... with Children - Season 11 on July 7.

FOLLOW ME

Who to Follow: Lori Loughlin (Twitter), "Mother, wife, animal lover, actress. Be careful when you blindly follow the masses. Sometimes the M is silent."
Claim to Fame: Full House is coming back as Fuller House, and even though she isn't part of the cast right now, Lori Loughlin would love to be in the family once again. Full House was the first regular sitcom role that she had (she first appeared in the second season and was a regular by the third season). Following the end of that series, she moved on to another ABC sitcom with another ABC sitcom veteran, Hudson Street, in which she starred alongside Tony Danza. Since that time, she has guest starred on lots of things, but she did have "regular" roles along the way in series such as Summerland and the reboot series 90210. Currently, she is in the Hallmark Channel series, When Calls the Heart (which, by the way, begins its second season tonight).
