Boomerang Celebrates St. Patrick’s Day with Stone-Age Salute to The Great Gazoo--Two-Feet Tall, All-Green Futuristic Character from The Flintstones, To be Showcased with Five Best Episodes Today (Friday, March 17).
Helping classic cartoon fans enjoy a “Bit of the Blarney,” Boomerang, Cartoon Network’s 24-hour commercial-free sister network, will celebrate today, St. Patrick’s Day (Friday, March 17), with five favorite episodes of The Flintstones featuring the gloriously all-green character from outer-space, The Great Gazoo. Playing three times throughout the Friday holiday: 9-11 a.m., 4-6 p.m. and 8-10 p.m. (ET).
THE GREAT GAZOO MARATHON pays homage to the beloved feature character so wittily portrayed by comedian Harvey Korman with a distinctively snooty voice. Episodes airing are: "The Great Gazoo,""Seeing Doubles," "How to Pick a Fight With Your Wife Without Really Trying," "Curtain Call at Bedrock," and "Boss for a Day."
In other news, SOAPnet has picked up rights to the CBS soap The Young and the Restless starting April 24 and airing same day episodes. It will air Mon-Fri at 7 p.m. with encores of the week on Saturday nights. SOAPnet also has rights to historic episodes for stunts and specials. USA Network has picked up the cable rights to off-net series NCIS, distributed by Paramount Domestic Television, according to Variety. The five year deal covers 88 episodes, and will go to USA in 2008. Paramount may well also sell the show to broadcast stations, and has also retained the VOD rights. NCIS airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on CBS.
