Turner's TBS has renewed three of the network's most recent hit original comedy series: The Guest Book, People of Earth and Wrecked. All three shows rank among the top 10 cable comedies with adults 18-49 in Live +7, and The Guest Book is cable's #1 new comedy series of the year. The network's summer series join TBS' previous 2017 renewals, including the dysfunctional family comedy The Detour and police procedural spoof Angie Tribeca.

The Guest Book emerged from Emmy® winner Greg Garcia's habit of writing fictitious stories in the guest books of various rental cabins in an effort to freak out the next renters. Season one stars Garret Dillahunt, Carly Jibson, Kellie Martin, Charlie Robinson, Aloma Wright, Lou Wilson, Laura Bell Bundy and Eddie Steeples as residents of a small mountain town who interact with visitors renting vacation home 'Froggy Cottage.' Executive-produced by Emmy® winners Conan O'Brien and Greg Daniels along with creator David Jenkins and showrunner Norm Hiscock, People of Earth centers on a support group for alien abductees in Beacon, N.Y. In season two, StarCrossed's members must reckon with the arrival of FBI Agent Alex Foster and the discovery that they were all previously abducted as children. The ensemble cast stars Wyatt Cenac, Ana Gasteyer, Nasim Pedrad, Oscar
 Nuñez, Michael Cassidy, Alice Wetterlund, Luka Jones, Brian Huskey, Nancy Lenehan, Tracee Chimo, Da'Vine Joy Randolph, Björn Gustafsson and Ken Hall. In season two of the hit survival comedy Wrecked, pirates invade the island. This is bad news for Danny, Owen and the other stranded airline passengers, who've only recently recovered from the loss of wi-fi, indoor plumbing and Steve's attempted takeover of the island. Season two stars Asif Ali, Zach Cregger, Rhys Darby, Brooke Dillman, Will Greenberg, Jessica Lowe, Ally Maki and Brian Sacca.

Everyone needs a happy place and Hallmark Channel offers viewers the perfect escape with the network's premier programming event, "Countdown to Christmas." The annual, 24/7 holiday programming schedule showcases a record 21 new, original holiday premiere movies that are sure to help even the biggest Scrooge recapture the Christmas spirit. From Friday, October 27, until Sunday, December 31, audiences will be able to immerse themselves in feel-good holiday fare throughout the season. Even as the temperatures drop around the country, viewers will be reminded that true love can still burn brightly - even when it's freezing. Whether a returning favorite from holidays past or brand-new yuletide offering, Hallmark Channel's schedule is brimming with tales of love, family and joy.

Returning to spread Christmas cheer are Hallmark Channel's "Queens of Christmas," Candace Cameron Bure (Fuller House) and Lacey Chabert (Mean Girls), who have each previously appeared in five original, world premiere Christmas movies for the network. The star-studded lineup leading the new, original movies continues with Catherine Bell (Army Wives, JAG), Lori Loughlin (Fuller House), Alison Sweeney (Days of Our Lives), Danica McKellar (The Wonder Years), Alexa PenaVega (Spy Kids franchise), Carlos PenaVega (The Loud House) and Jodie Sweetin (Fuller House).

NBC has announced premiere dates for its 2017-18 fall schedule. NBC begins its new season Monday, Sept. 25 at 8pm ET/PT with a two-hour telecast of the Blind Auditions for season 13 of The Voice, which features new coach Jennifer Hudson, as well as the return of coaches Miley Cyrus, Blake Shelton and Adam Levine. The Voice will immediately be followed by the premiere of The Brave, a heart-pounding journey into the complex world of America's elite undercover military heroes, starring Anne Heche as a Washington, D.C.-based D.I.A. Deputy Director and Mike Vogel as captain of an elite overseas Special Ops squad. The cultural sensation and #1 new series This Is Us makes its highly anticipated return on Tuesday, Sept. 26 at 9pm, immediately following The Voice. At 10pm is the premiere of Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders, which stars four-time Emmy Award winner Edie Falco as tenacious attorney Leslie Abramson, who defends brothers Lyle and Erik Menendez in the sensational trial that follows their arrest for the brutal murders of their parents.
Wednesday, Sept. 27 will begin at 8pm with a special one-hour episode of The Voice, concluding a three night event. Law & Order: SVU launches its 19th season at 9pm followed by the fifth-season debut of the Windy City police drama Chicago P.D. A week later (Oct. 4) in the 8pm timeslot, NBC's signature drama The Blacklist, starring three-time Emmy winner James Spader, begins its fifth season. Following a season finale in which a tornado ripped apart Cloud 9, the folks from Superstore begin to rebuild starting at 8 pm Thursday, Sept. 28. Ending its first season with a twist that stunned critics and viewers alike, Mike Schur's The Good Place begins season two at 8:30pm. Eric McCormack, Debra Messing, Sean Hayes and Megan Mullally make their celebrated return to Will & Grace as the 16-time Emmy winner makes its homecoming on NBC at 9pm that night after an 11-year hiatus. A half-hour later, the folks at "The Breakdown" are back for more with season two of Great News, executive produced by Tina Fey, Robert Carlock and Tracey Wigfield. Dick Wolf's Chicago Fire begins its sixth season at 10 p.m. And finally for the fall, Blindspot, starring Sullivan Stapleton and Jaimie Alexander, begins its third season at 8pm Friday, Oct. 27. A premiere date for Friday drama Taken has not been announced yet because NBC has pushed the drama to mid-season 2018, as two-hour Dateline's will air Fridays from 9-11pm.

Rounding out the first season cast is Garret Dillahunt (Raising Hope) as Andrew, Laura Bell Bundy (Scream Queens) as Jessica and Eddie Steeples (My Name Is Earl) as Eddie.

Friday and Saturday at the TCA 2017 Winter Press Tour it was all cable networks. We have a round-up of all the noteworthy news. Let's start with TBS. TBS's upcoming new comedy The Guest Book is filling up quickly with notable entries. The new comedy series from Emmy® winner Greg Garcia (My Name Is Earl) has locked its first-season cast and guest cast. The Guest Book is slated to premiere on TBS in August. Among the regular and recurring cast members joining The Guest Book are Kellie Martin (Life Goes On, Army Wives) as Officer Kimberly Leahy, who serves on the police force in the small mountain town of Mount Trace. Charlie Robinson (Night Court, Hart of Dixie) is Wilfrid, an easygoing, friendly gentleman who manages a group of mountain rental cottages with his wife, Emma, played by recurring guest star Aloma Wright (Suits), Carly Jibson (Broadway's Hairspray) is Vivian, a tough, strong-willed woman who runs a bikini bar called Chubbys with her stepson Frank, played by Lou Wilson (Tween Fest). Rounding out the first season cast in recurring roles will be Garret Dillahunt (The Mindy Project), Laura Bell Bundy (Scream Queens) and Eddie Steeples (My Name Is Earl). TBS has greenlit ten episodes of the animated series The Cops (working title), starring and co-created by Louis C.K. and Albert Brooks. The two also serve as executive producers on the series with Greg Daniels, Dino Stamatopoulos, Dave Becky and Howard Klein. The series is slated to premiere in 2018. The Cops follows Al (Brooks) and Lou (C.K.), two Los Angeles patrolmen trying their best to protect and serve, sometimes failing at both. Ride with them as they patrol one of the biggest cities in the world, then go home with them and be glad you're not married to either. Moving on to sister network TNT, have ordered a second season of its hit drama series Good Behavior, starring award-winning actress Michelle Dockery. Juan Diego Botto, Terry Kinney and Lusia Strus also star in the seductive thriller, which is executive-produced by Chad Hodge and Blake Crouch and based on a series of books by Crouch. The entire first season of Good Behavior is currently available on TNT On Demand and TNT's digital and mobile platforms. The second season is slated to launch in the fall. Dakota Fanning (American Pastoral) is set to star in TNT's The Alienist, the eagerly anticipated series based on the Anthony Award-winning New York Times bestseller by Caleb Carr. Playing Sara Howard, a headstrong secretary at Police Headquarters, Fanning joins recently cast Daniel Brühl (Rush, Inglorious Bastards, Captain America: Civil War), who stars as forensic psychologist Dr. Laszlo Kreizler, and Luke Evans (The Girl on The Train, The Hobbit trilogy), who will play reporter John Moore. The series will follow the three of them as they investigate a series of brutal murders in New York during the Gilded Age. Slated to premiere in late 2017.

IFC announced that its flagship Emmy(R)-nominated and Peabody Award-winning sketch series Portlandia will return in 2018 for its eighth and final season. The series, currently airing Thursdays at 10PM, has captivated viewers and critics alike since its premiere in 2011 by lovingly satirizing our society's idiosyncrasies by exploring the eccentric misfits who embody the foibles of modern culture. Portlandia was created by Fred Armisen, Carrie Brownstein and Jonathan Krisel. In other IFC news, IFC's Brockmire is ready to take the field! The network's newest original comedy, starring Hank Azaria and Amanda Peet, premieres Wednesday April 5 at 10PM. The first season will be comprised of eight episodes airing weekly. The series follows Jim Brockmire (Azaria), a famed major league baseball announcer who suffered an embarrassing public meltdown live on the air a decade ago after discovering his wife's infidelity. Now, looking to reclaim his career, reputation, and love life, Brockmire takes a job in a small American rust belt town, calling minor league baseball games for the Morristown Frackers. Peet co-stars as Jules, the strong-willed and hard-drinking proud owner of the Frackers.

On to TV Land, two months before its March 29, 2017 series premiere, TV Land has picked up a 12-episode second season of Nobodies, starring and executive produced by Hugh Davidson, Larry Dorf and Rachel Ramras. The news was announced at the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour by Keith Cox, President of Development and Production for TV Land. The comedy is executive produced by Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone with Michael McDonald serving as executive producer, director and showrunner. Season two will premiere in 2018. The comedy revolves around the three as they try desperately to land one of their famous friends for a feature script that they have developed, so that they, too, can rise to fame in Hollywood. TV Land has picked up its first ever hour-long series with Heathers. The first season is a 10-episode order and is set to premiere in Fall 2017. Based on the 1988 cult classic film of the same name, Heathers is a pitch-black comedy anthology set in the present day, as our heroine Veronica Sawyer (Grace Victoria Cox, Under the Dome) deals with a very different but equally vicious group of Heathers. Also starring are James Scully as JD, Melanie Field (Wicked National Tour) as Heather Chandler, Brendan Scannell (Funny or Die) as Heather Duke, and Jasmine Mathews as Heather McNamara. It was also revealed in November that original Heathers cast member Shannen Doherty will guest star as a pivotal, unnamed character in the TV Land series.

And finally at HBO, the comedy series Barry, starring Bill Hader, will begin production on its eight-episode season in Los Angeles this spring. Hader (Saturday Night Live) and Alec Berg (HBO's Silicon Valley) serve as co-creators, executive producers and writers on the show, which is slated for 2018 debut on the network. Hader stars in the title role as a hitman who, after following his intended target to an acting class, finds himself intrigued and decides to become an actor and change his life. As well as starring in the series, Hader will direct episodes of the show, marking his directorial debut. Other cast regulars include Stephen Root (HBO's All the Way), Sarah Goldberg (Hindsight), Glenn Fleshler (HBO's True Detective), Anthony Carrigan (Gotham) and Henry Winkler (Arrested Development).

Oh just sit right back, because more classic sitcoms are now on Logo! Logo added Gilligan's Island this past weekend and it will add the '80s sitcom Silver Spoons today! Gilligan is being shared with sister network TV Land, who has aired the series up until recently, but Silver Spoons is totally new to the Viacom family networks. Logo has started somewhat of a regular schedule, and Silver Spoons will air weekday afternoons at approx. 1:30-3:30pm following The Facts of Life two-hour block. Gilligan is before Facts, from 9:30-11:30am. I Dream of Jeannie and Bewitched kick it off in the early morning hours. After Silver Spoons, depending on the day, it is a two-hour block of Roseanne or Will & Grace. The rest of the schedule has All in the Family, Three's Company, movies and more, but there is no set timings, from 6pm-6am. The Friday primetime line-up features three-hours sitcom tours, with All in the Family from 6-9pm, Three's Company from 9pm-12am, Gilligan's Island from 12am-3am, and more All in the Family from 3-6am.

On weekends, it is more sitcom fun! Marathons blocks of Roseanne, All in the Family, Three's Company, and Gilligan's Island air from 6am-10pm on Saturdays leading into the newly added Silver Spoons from 10pm-2am. It will lead into the late night block of All in the Family from 2-6am. Sundays has more blocks, with Roseanne leading it off into Three's Company, All in the Family and Will & Grace usually through 7pm. Then movies and other programming usually air after that, with some more Will & Grace mixed in. Lots of sitcoms indeed, but it looks like some sitcoms like The Golden Girls, Soap and What's Happening!! are off the schedule for now. But they could be back. Enjoy Silver Spoons and Gilligan's Island!

TBS's stable of original comedies is about to expand. The top-rated Turner network has greenlit two new series and ordered another to pilot. Getting straight-to-series orders are The Guest Book, a scripted single-camera comedy created by Emmy Award winner Greg Garcia (My Name is Earl, Raising Hope), and produced by CBS Television Studios, and Tarantula, from creator Carson Mell (Silicon Valley) and Rough House Pictures, the network's first original primetime animated series under the new TBS brand. Both series are slated to launch in 2017. TBS has also ordered a pilot for World's End, a scripted comedy from Electus, writer/executive producer Jonathan Ames (Bored to Death) and executive producer Ben Silverman (Jane the Virgin), with Hamish Linklater (The Big Short) and Wanda Sykes (black-ish) set to star.

In other programming news, TBS has set Halloween night, Monday, Oct. 31, at 9 p.m. (ET/PT), for the premiere of its other-worldly ensemble comedy People of Earth, starring Wyatt Cenac (The Daily Show). TBS also has a unique launch plan in store for the new series Search Party. In order to capitalize on the Thanksgiving week with a captive young audience, TBS will air the entire first season of Search Party during the holiday (Nov. 21-25), with two episodes each night from 11 p.m. to midnight (ET/PT). To build interest even further, TBS will encore the first season during the weeks of Christmas and New Year's, while also making all 10 episodes available on demand the night of premiere to encourage binge viewing. The announcements mark the latest phase in TBS's programming and brand evolution, which began in January with the unique launch premiere of Angie Tribeca and continued with the debuts of Full Frontal with Samantha Bee in February, The Detour in April and Wrecked in June. As a result, TBS now claims four of cable's Top 10 new comedies for the year-to-date, with Wrecked and The Detour topping the list.
