CBS has FINALLY announced its mid-season 2011 plans! Every other network has announced their mid-season plans already. First order of business is that CSI: Miami will move to 8pm for at least three weeks starting Sunday, Jan. 2. All three airings will be all-new episodes. Its current slot of 10pm will be various series repeats for these three weeks (CSI: Miami on Jan 2, Criminal Minds on Jan. 9 and Undercover Boss on Jan. 16). CBS has the NFL's AFC Championship Game in primetime on Jan. 23 and as of now it is unclear what will air following the game at about 10pm ET. It is also unclear if CSI: Miami air at 8pm on Jan. 30, leading into the new Hallmark Hall of Fame Movie: Lost Valentine from 9-11pm. The Super Bowl is Feb. 6 (on Fox), so CBS will air repeats in primetime and CBS has the Grammy Awards on Feb. 13 from 8-11pm. So, CSI: Miami will likely return to its 10pm timeslot on Sunday, Feb. 20, as The Amazing Race starts its new season at 8pm that night. However, the following week (Feb. 27) will be the Oscars (on ABC), so it seems a new episode of Race at least will air since it premieres the week prior.
CBS will give freshman drama Blue Bloods a four-week run on Wednesdays at 10:00pm beginning Wednesday, Jan. 19 through and including Feb. 9. After these four weeks, it will return to its regular Friday time period of 10:00pm on Feb. 11. CBS will air repeats on Fridays at 10:00pm from Jan. 7-Feb. 4 until Blue Bloods returns on Feb. 11. The Defenders, which currently airs Wednesdays at 10:00pm, relocates to Fridays at 8:00pm effective Feb. 4 through and including March 25. The series will have its last Wednesday airing on Jan. 12. After Blue Bloods' four-week run on Wednesdays at 10 is over, CBS will premiere a new 13 episode series. Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior, a spin-off of CBS's Criminal Minds, premieres Wednesday, Feb. 16 at 10:00pm, airing right after the parent series. That is the same night Survivor returns with an all-new season at 8pm. Moving on, CBS premieres new drama Chaos on Fridays at 8pm beginning April 1, the week after The Defenders airs its season finale. The series has a 13 episode order, so it will likely run in the summer as well.
Moving on to sitcom news, CBS will premiere a new sitcom, move a sitcom and end one early. Mad Love, a comedy about a quartet of New Yorkers, two of whom are falling in love while the other two despise each other, premieres Monday, Feb. 21 at8:30pm following How I Met Your Mother. The series has a 13 episode order and will remain in this timeslot for the rest of the season. As a result of this change, Rules of Engagement will move from Mondays at 8:30pm to Thursdays at 8:30pm beginning Feb. 24 and airing after The Big Bang Theory. This means $#*! My Dad Says is off the schedule, but it will complete its on-air order of 17 episodes for the season after its Feb. 17 airing.

Antenna TV has announced its first week (Jan. 1-9) episodes and movies. We are very happy to report that every series they will air will start with the first episode and go in order from there. The only exception to not starting from the beginning will be on the Sunday series Showcase '39 which starts with episodes 153 and 154 ("Mr. Kagle & the Baby Sitter" and "Panic") in the 7am hour. That series is very rare as it is, so it doesn't really matter. There will be a few series that will go in production order, like Maude, but most will go in airdate order (such as Three's Company). The network launch marathon weekend of Jan. 1-2 with The Three Stooges and Benny Hill will also be aired in order, with Benny Hill's first 46 episodes airing. They will start both series from the beginning again on their regular Friday and Saturday night airings starting Jan. 7.
As for the films, they will air the movies weekdays from 1am-1pm and on weekends from 3am-7am. A nice mix of films from the '50s to the '90s will air from the Columbia Tri-Star library. Premiere week films are Real Genius (1985), Beverly Hills Ninja (1997), Dick (1999), Blind Date (1987), Mrs. Winterbourne (1996), The Freshman (1990), Born Yesterday (1950), Picnic (1955), Muppets From Space (1999) and Muppets Take Manhattan (1984). That is just for week one (Jan. 3-9), look for more classics to come! We are about 10 days away from the Jan. 1 launch! Last week we announced that KTLA in Los Angeles will be airing a preview of Antenna TV on Dec. 18, 19 and 26. And Dec. 18 and 19 was a success with shows like Dennis the Menace, Father Knows Best, Burns & Allen, Sanford & Son, Gidget, Circus Boy, The Monkees and The Three Stooges all getting a preview. We announced that on Sunday, Dec, 26 from 1pm-4pm PT, KTLA would have The Adventures of Rin Tin Tin, The Adventures of Wild Bill Hickok and The Iron Horse, but KTLA has changed the scheduled a bit. The Adventures of Rin Tin Tin remains in the 1pm hour, but at 2pm it will now be an episode of Here Come the Brides and the 3pm hour will feature back-to-back episodes of The Partridge Family. Fans in L.A. please take note of the change! After this preview airs in Los Angeles, Antenna TV is less than 6 days away from launch on Jan. 1 nationwide!

TBS is moving American Dad! from weekdays at 7:30pm to weekdays at 1:00pm beginning today. Seinfeld will now air in the 7pm hour, with King of Queens taking the 6pm hour and Everybody Loves Raymond taking the full 5pm hour. The 1pm American Dad! replaces According to Jim's first airing, which now moves to 2pm, replacing one Everybody Loves Raymond airing, but that airing is now at 5:30pm anyway. The animated comedy must have been struggling in the ratings. It only lasted about a month in the evening slot. After tonight, it has also lost its primetime airings. Tonight you'll see it at 8:30pm & 9:30pm, but that's it for primetime now. The Friday 8-9pm airings are replaced by Family Guy. And its Saturdays from 6:30pm-8pm slots are now gone with more Everybody Loves Raymond added earlier in the day (Saturdays 4-6pm) pushing King of Queens (6-7pm) and Seinfeld (7-8pm) to later airings. The latter two air in those slots on weekdays, too. Everything else remains the same as it is now.
A few weeks ago we mentioned when Conan starts on Nov. 8, My Name is Earl will move from 12-1am to 5pm half-hour, replacing Everybody Loves Raymond in that slot...that is SORT OF still happening. Now My Name is Earl will replace Everybody Loves Raymond's 1:30pm slot instead. My Name is Earl will also NOT air on Thanksgiving Day now from 6-7pm, as previously planned. Everything else we mentioned remains as is, such as Sex and the City leaving the schedule and the Seinfeld "Happy Festivus" marathon on Friday, Nov. 26.

CBS has given full season orders to its entire freshman class - Hawaii Five-0, Blue Bloods, Mike & Molly, The Defenders and $#*! My Dad Says. Of the five, Mike & Molly and Hawaii Five-0 have emerged as the net's biggest new hits even though they are not breakout hits. Five-0 continues to drop in its timeslot each week in Adults 18-49, but still wins its hour. Exact episode count for each are not available yet, but all of them will for sure air beyond the original 13 episodes. Word is that $#*! My Dad Says has only gotten an additional six episodes ordered, giving it 19 episodes for the season--so technically it's not a full season order. The others are likely at the full season of 22 episodes, with maybe The Defenders getting a bit less. None of these episode counts are official, though so stay tuned! In mid-season CBS still has the comedy Mad Love, dramas Chaos and Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior, and reality series Live to Dance with Paula Abdul.

Meanwhile, The CW Network gave full season, back nine episode orders to both of its new freshman dramas Hellcats and Nikita, as well as veteran drama One Tree Hill, now in its eighth season. The latter was only ordered for a 13 episode eighth season, but now will get the full 22 episode season.
Since its premiere, Hellcats has dramatically improved The CW's Wednesday 9-10pm time period by 80% in women 18-34 (1.8/5), 100% in adults 18-34 (1.2/4) and 126% in total viewers (2.5mil). With breakout star Maggie Q, Nikita has become the second most-watched show on The CW (3.6mil), paired with the network's most watched series The Vampire Diaries.
The CW has not given any additional episodes to second year drama Life UneXpected yet. It has an order of 13 only, but is struggling in the ratings. The only other series The CW has in the bench is new reality series Shedding for the Wedding.

MY DAD SAYS (pronounced "Bleep My Dad Says"), based on the popular Twitter feed by Justin Halpern, stars Emmy Award winner William Shatner as Ed Goodson, a forthright and opinionated dad who relishes expressing his unsolicited and often wildly politically incorrect observations to anyone within earshot. Nobody is safe from Ed's rants, including his sons, Henry, a struggling writer-turned-unpaid blogger; and Vince, the meek half of a husband/wife real estate duo with domineering Bonnie. When Henry finds he can no longer afford to pay rent, Ed reveals a soft spot and invites Henry to move in with him. Henry agrees, knowing that the verbal assault will not abate and now there will be no escape. Describing their father/son relationship is tricky, but Ed will easily come up with a few choice words.

William Shatner's (Ed) career has spanned over 50 years. He's an Emmy Award and Golden Globe Award-winning actor, director, producer, screenwriter, recording artist, author, and horseman. He is one of pop culture's most recognizable figures and a Hollywood philanthropist. In 1966, Shatner originated the role of Captain James T. Kirk in the television series Star Trek, which rocketed to fame - but only after the show was cancelled and then later re-launched in syndication. The series spawned a feature film franchise in which Shatner reprised the role of Captain Kirk in seven of the Star Trek motion pictures. Shatner played the title role in the series T.J. Hooker before hosting one of television's new generation of reality-based series, Rescue 911, which aired on CBS for six seasons.

He has since guest-starred in several hundred television programs, including classics such as The Twilight Zone, Alfred Hitchcock Presents and Mission: Impossible. He also recurred on other staples, including 77 Sunset Strip and Dr. Kildare before garnering an Emmy nomination in 1999 for his appearances in 3rd Rock from the Sun. He made his feature film directorial debut in 1989 with Star Trek V: The Final Frontier (in which he also starred and helped conceive the story). Since then, he has directed several other features, television movies and series.

In September 2004, Shatner won an Emmy Award for his recurring role as eccentric lawyer Denny Crane on The Practice, the David E. Kelley-created legal drama that finished its run in 2004. Shatner then reprised the role - this time as a series regular - on Boston Legal. He won his first Golden Globe Award in January 2005 and another Emmy Award that September. He has since earned four more Emmy nominations, a second Golden Globe nod as well as two SAG Award nominations. Shatner's Raw Nerve, an edgy and off-beat celebrity interview series, currently airs on the Bio channel.

Jonathan Sadowski's (Henry) film credits include She's the Man, Live Free or Die Hard, Friday the 13th and The Goods. His television credits include starring roles on Our Show, Two Dollar Beer, Courtroom K, Miss/Guided and a recurring role on The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

Before moving from Vancouver, B.C., to Los Angeles, Will Sasso (Vince) starred for five seasons as quirky teen Derek Wakaluk on the award-winning Canadian series Madison. In 1997, he went on to star for five seasons on the hit sketch comedy series, MADtv, playing characters such as the accident-prone handyman Paul Timberman and doing offbeat impressions of Bill Clinton, Kenny Rogers, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Steven Segal and Randy Newman.

Moviegoers know Sasso from his roles in over 30 feature films, including Best in Show, A Mighty Wind, Drop Dead Gorgeous, Beverly Hills Ninja, The Hot Chick and Happy Gilmore. Recently, Sasso appeared in the feature films College Road Trip and Southland Tales and will be seen in the upcoming films, Lower Learning and For Christ's Sake, which Sasso produced under his Lord Mucker Entertainment banner. Due for release in October 2010, Sasso stars in Life As We Know It opposite Katherine Heigl and Josh Duhamel. Sasso has been busy the past several years writing/developing television series for several major studios and networks. In 2010, he teamed with producers Eric Tannenbaum and Mitch Hurwitz as well as writing partner Chad Kultgen, which resulted in the half-hour comedy pilot, Waiting To Die. He can be heard this season as the lead character in the animated series Neighbors From Hell.

Nicole Sullivan (Bonnie) has been acting since she was 7 years old. She attended Northwestern University where she spent four years studying the classics, including Shakespeare and Chekhov. After graduating on the Dean's List, she joined the Greenwich Shakespeare Company. In 1995, Sullivan joined the original cast of the hit sketch comedy show, MADtv, as its youngest cast member. In the six years that she worked on the show, she was credited with some of its funniest moments, playing memorable characters such as the Vancome Lady, and doing scathing impersonations of celebrities such as Britney Spears and Meg Ryan. In 2001, Sullivan joined the cast of The King of Queens on CBS as Holly, the dog-walker. Her numerous television guest appearances include Scrubs, Law & Order: SVU, Boston Legal and Monk. She also appeared in the feature films Guess Who and 17 Again.

As a distinguished comedic voice actor, Sullivan has lent her voice to numerous animated hits such as The Ant Bully and Meet the Robinsons. In addition, Sullivan lent her voice to a number of popular animated television shows, including Kim Possible, Family Guy, Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, Secret Saturdays and The Penguins of Madagascar. Since the end of September 2009, Sullivan has served as a spokesperson for Jenny Craig, chronicling her "baby-weight loss" journey through a series of video and written blogs with a goal of losing 35 pounds. Her reveal was seen in a set of nationally televised commercials in spring and summer of 2010.

Analysis:

I was hoping for a stronger pilot. It is a traditional multi-camera sitcom that is filmed in front of a studio audience. There just aren't enough laughs in the pilot. Some of the lines were very predictable and might be offensive to some. I think they put in a little too much drama and some emotional scenes where people might be expecting more non-stop jokes. It seems like they had a team of four writers on the pilot and they all weren't on the same page. Hopefully they will lighten the mood in future episodes. Legendary director James Burrows helms the pilot.

Henry goes to his father's home and needs to borrow some money after being laid off in the opening scene. Ed brings out a shotgun and tells him "guts or nuts - your choice." Henry wants to crash on the couch, but Ed tells him to use a cot in the attic. Henry's brother Vince and his wife Bonnie drop by to bring some groceries. In the kitchen, Henry tells Vince and Bonnie that he wants to have a relationship with his father, who he really hasn't known since he was 5. While "It Had To Be You" plays on the record player, Henry helps Ed study for his driving test. This is the song that Ed and his ex-wife used to dance to. A huge argument ensues between Henry and Ed. Ed talks to Vince and Eddie and tells them he won't be taking them up on their offer of moving in with them in their condo. Ed goes to the Department of Motor Vehicles to retake the driver's test. A delivery man brings a mattress to the house. Ed has bought him a bed as a nice gesture. Henry and Ed dance in the final scene.

The cast they've put together is a pretty good one. William Shatner does a fine job as the cranky and opinionated dad. He was great on Boston Legal as Denny Crane. The role of Henry was first played by Ryan Devlin in the original pilot. Jonathan Sadowski was recast in the role in July. He does a pretty good job with a mix of comedy and drama in the pilot. Will Sasso and Nicole Sullivan round out the cast. They are only in a few scenes in the pilot. They seem more like brother/sister than husband/wife, so maybe they will develop some more on-camera chemistry. Both bring a lot of comedic experience to the table. Hopefully their roles will be expanded a bit in future episodes. The show is mainly about the father/son relationship, but it will help to have some additional recurring characters. San Diego is the location for the show.

Conclusion:

When CBS first announced the show in the spring with William Shatner in the role of dad, I thought it would be the highest rated new comedy of the season. I was really expecting that they would put it on after Two and a Half Men on Monday nights. The Sh*t My Dad Says Twitter feed by Justin Halpern and best-selling book are very funny, but I don't think they translate as well on a broadcast sitcom. Some of the outrageous things and profanity that the real-life father says obviously can't be heard on network television. The show would be funnier and they could get away with more on cable. There are no bleeped out words in the pilot episode. I would expect the pilot to do well in the ratings. It does have a comfortable time slot between The Big Bang Theory and C.S.I.. I'm sure some people will tune in just because of the name of the show. Pavan has suggested they rename it Shat My Dad Says. DVR users might find it difficult to find under the current title.

William Shatner makes this show watchable. The pilot wasn't really great, so there is a lot of room for improvement in the writing department. There was some hard-hitting drama and emotional scenes that you don't usually find in a pilot episode of a sitcom. It does set up the storyline nicely, but I'm hoping for many more laughs and less seriousness in future episodes. They should also expand the roles of Will Sasso and Nicole Sullivan. Both have a lot of comedy experience, but they are barely used in the pilot. The pilot is more of a mix of comedy and drama, so this is a show that you will probably want to give 3-4 episodes before deciding to watch it for the rest of the season. It could take them a few weeks to find a comedic groove. Meet the Gordon family on CBS on Thursday nights at 8:30-9:00PM ET/PT.

Beginning Monday (September 27, 2010), Hallmark will make another schedule change to its new Martha Stewart daytime block. This week they tried shuffling the shows around a bit. Now next week, the 1pm-3pm block will get replaced with two encores of The Martha Stewart Show. This means, From Martha's Home, From Martha's Garden, From Martha's Kitchen and an encore of Mad Hungry with Lucinda Scala Quinn will be pulled. That's not all, the 3pm-6pm block will be now three airings of Little House on the Prairie, as the "Martha Stewart Home" block gets cut to 11am-3pm only, instead of 11am-6pm. Little House replaces an encore of Mad Hungry with Lucinda Scala Quinn and two encores of The Martha Stewart Show, which will move to 1-3pm, as we mentioned above.
So, if you're wondering this is how the Martha block looks like now: 10am The Martha Stewart Show (premiere), 11am Mad Hungry with Lucinda Scala Quinn (premiere), 11:30am Everyday Food (premiere), 12pm Whatever with Alexis & Jennifer (premiere), 1pm The Martha Stewart Show encore and 2pm The Martha Stewart Show encore. Little House on the Prairie will also remain in its current weeknights at 8pm slot as well.

Sorry for the late post today, but it has been very busy today due to the TCA and to top it off, we are bringing you WGN America's Fall 2010 schedule! WGN America is adding plenty of new sitcoms and dramas to its line-up beginning in September. Joining the weekday schedule, as previously announced, are contemporary comedies Curb Your Enthusiasm, How I Met Your Mother, Old Christine, & Entourage. But today we have the timeslots for them! Curb Your Enthusiasm launches with a mini-marathon on Sunday, Sept. 12 from 8-10pm ET and 11pm-2am ET. The series will then settle into its Mon-Sat 9pm ET timeslot and encores at 2:30am ET on weeknights. The series will also air Saturday nights at 12:30am ET, in addition to 9pm. The other series won't get a pre-marathon but are heavily featured on the primetime schedule. Entourage will be paired with Curb, with it airing Mon-Sat at 9:30pm ET and weeknight encores at 2am ET. It will also air on Saturday nights at 12am ET, in addition to its 9:30pm ET slot.
Old Christine will air weeknights at 8:00pm & 8:30pm ET, except on Thursdays for WWE Superstars. As a result, that preemption will air in the Friday 7pm ET hour leading into the regularly scheduled airings. Old Christine will also air on Sunday nights in the 7pm ET hour. And How I Met Your Mother will air Tues-Sat at 11:00pm & 11:30pm ET and it will also air Sunday nights from 8-10pm ET.
Classic series wise, joining the weekday schedule will be Walker, Texas Ranger airing weekdays at 2pm and 3pm ET, as The Beverly Hillbillies moves into the 9am ET hour and I Dream of Jeannie heads to 4pm ET. Bewitched and Cheers also move up an hour to 5pm and 6pm ET, as Becker's contract has expired and will not be renewed. Also expiring is The Cosby Show. So, yes, this means with TV Land/Nick at Nite also not renewing, The Cosby Show will be out of a cable home for now come this fall. Wonder if any network will pick it up? 7th Heaven will be leaving the daily schedule come this September, as will Outta Sight Retro Night on Sundays, as the contracts to Newhart and Barney Miller are expiring. Retro night had a great run but ratings had softened in recent months. WGN America will instead use Scrubs at 5pm ET and new addition of Just Shoot Me! at 6pm ET to lead into the new contemporary sitcom block on Sunday nights.
As for weekends, WGN America will be losing Boston Legal, however The Unit and Monk are being added to join Law & Order: Criminal Intent and Bones. The Unit will be used with those two on Saturday afternoons, while Monk will air on Sunday nights from 11pm-2am ET. WGN America will also air classic series on weekend mornings with dramas (In the Heat of the Night, Matlock and Walker Texas Ranger) on Saturdays and an hour of Bewitched on Sundays. Saturday nights will have the new contemporary comedies, like every other night.
Also of note, on and off sitcom Coach will get a marathon airing on Outta Sight Retro Night on Sunday, Aug. 29 from 5pm-10pm ET and 11pm-4am ET to kick-off college football weekend! There are no plans to put it on the regular schedule again, though. This is the last night for Outta Sight Retro Night, with the last regular line-up airing a week prior (Aug. 22). There is also an Addams Family sighting on Sunday, Sept. 5 at 5:30pm ET after baseball. It is just filler, but hopefully it gets to air. Movies will follow.

Today is the first day of the TCA Summer 2010 Press Tour and CBS is up first. We are not at the press tour, but our friend Mike of TVTango.com is there and is providing live blogging updates for everyone! You even get to submit a question and he will try to ask for you. Sounds cool right?
Anyway, CBS started the morning off right by having a selection of favorite breakfast items with showgirls and slot machines for added fun in honor of the new Wednesday drama The Defenders. Then the sessions started with Nina Tassler, President, CBS Entertainment taking quesitons. Among the highlights from this session were: Nina commented on the resignation of ABC Entertainment President Stephen McPherson: My first thought was "Dammit, Steve got out of doing a press tour." CBS has given a name to the new CBS Daytime talk show set to replace soap As the World Turns this October. The talk show will be called The Talk. As a result of the talk show, Julie Chen (one of the co-hosts on this new talk show) will continue in a consulting capacity on The Early Show. Nina on pulling The Bridge from Saturday nights: The show wasn't delivering the numbers we needed. Generally, our Summer strategies work. We'll look at doing Canadian shows in future. I haven't decided yet. As for Two and a Half Men and Charlie Sheen: We have no indication that there will be any delay on the delivery of episodes as planned. Nina's comments on the move of Big Bang Theory to Thursdays: It was difficult, but not in the sense that you don't have complete faith and belief in the show...the time felt right. The show is enjoying an extraordinary amount of support and love. This was a great opportunity to move it into a strategic place. We don't expect it to do the numbers it did on Mondays quite yet. CBS is planning to air episodes of the original 1970's Hawaii Five-0 on one of their sister cable networks, Spike TV in September. More info on that will come soon.
Then The Big Bang Theory was up next at the panel. On hand were stars Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco, Simon Helberg, Kunal Nayyar, and executive producers Prod Chuck Lorre & Bill Prady. After that the new sitcom Mike & Molly was up next and on hand were stars Billy Gardell, Melissa McCarthy, Reno Wilson, Katy Mixon, Nyambi Nyambi, Swoosie Kurtz and executive producer Chuck Lorre and creator Mark Roberts. The next panel before was the upcoming new CBS Daytime talk show (tentatively titled The Talk) with co-hosts Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Holly Robinson Peete, Leah Remini and Marissa Jaret Winokur. And the final panel before lunch was Hawaii Five-0 with stars Alex O'Loughlin, Scott Caan, Alex Kurtzman, and executive producer Peter Lenkov.
After a lunch break with boxed lunches, the new drama The Defenders was up at the panel. On hand were stars Jim Belushi, Jerry O'Connell, Jurnee Smollett, Tanya Fischer, executive producer Carol Mendelsohn, co-creator Kevin Kennedy, co-creator Niels Mueller, executive producer Harry Gantz, executive producer Joe Gantz and show runner Greg Walker. Then next at the panel was new Friday drama Blue Bloods. On hand were stars Tom Selleck, Donnie Wahlberg, and executive producers Mitchell Burgess & Robin Green. And finally the last panel was the new sitcom S#*! My Dad Says with the star William Shatner and executive producers David Kohan & Max Mutchnick and co-executive producer Justin Halpern.
Then when everything is over today, CBS asks to join them under the summer sky with stars, producers and executives from CBS, Showtime, The CW and CBS Television Distribution at "The Tent," 9900 Wilshire Boulevard, Beverly Hills, directly across from the Beverly Hilton Hotel, where you can eat, drink and party outside in a fun festive setting.

Before we start don't forget to come back on Monday for the start of our announcements of Fall 2010 cable schedules in our annual fall schedule barrage! First up will be TV Land Sept. 2010 and we will have other networks all next week like Hallmark Channel and WGN America!

At last CBS has announced its Fall 2010 premiere date and they have announced that most of its new and returning series will premiere during the week of Sept. 20, the official start of the 2010-2011 season. The exceptions are Survivor: Nicaragua, which launches a week earlier (Sept. 15), and The Good Wife and CSI: Miami, which both debut a week later (Sept. 28 and Oct. 3, respectively).
CBS will get an early start on the season with the premiere of Survivor: Nicaragua, the 21st edition of the hit reality series, which launches in its new night of on Wednesday, Sept. 15 at 8:00 PM, ET/PT. The season premiere will be a lead-in to the season finale of summer staple Big Brother 12 from 9:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT.
CBS's new season roll-out officially begins on Monday, Sept. 20 during premiere week with the season six debut of sitcom How I Met Your Mother at 8:00 PM, ET/PT), followed by the fifth season premiere of sitcom Rules of Engagement at 8:30 PM, ET/PT, the eighth season premiere of sitcom Two and a Half Men at 9:00 PM, ET/PT, the series premiere of new sitcom Mike & Molly at 9:30 PM, ET/PT and the series debut of drama Hawaii Five-0 at 10:00 PM, ET/PT.
NCIS returns for its eighth season on Tuesday, Sept. 21 at 8:00 PM ET/PT, followed by the two-hour second season premiere of NCIS: Los Angeles from 9:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT. The Good Wife returns for its sophomore season a week later on Tuesday, Sept. 28 at 10:00 PM, ET/PT, while NCIS: Los Angeles will settle into the 9:00 PM hour.
On Wednesday, Sept. 22, Criminal Minds is still at 9:00 PM, ET/PT returning for its sixth season, but now will be followed by the new series The Defenders at 10:00 PM, ET/PT.
On Thursday, Sept. 23, CBS opens its new one-hour comedy block with the fourth season premiere of sitcom The Big Bang Theory on its new night and time at 8:00 PM, ET/PT, the #1 scripted program in adults 18-49 will lead into the irreverent new sitcom, $#*! My Dad Says at 8:30 PM, ET/PT. CSI: Crime Scene Investigation returns for its 11th season at 9:00 PM, ET/PT, followed by the third season premiere of The Menatlist at 10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT.
The new Friday lineup premieres Sept. 24 with Medium's second season on CBS at a new time of 8:00 PM, ET/PT, followed by a new two-hour block of New York-based crime dramas featuring the seventh season premiere of CSI: NY on its new night and time of 9:00 PM, ET/PT and the series debut of the new police drama Blue Bloods at 10:00 PM, ET/PT.
48 Hours Mystery returns on Saturday, Sept. 25 at 10:00 PM, ET/PT, following Crime repeats. Premiering on Sunday, Sept. 26 is the 43rd season of 60 Minutes at approx. 7:30 PM, ET/PT, time is approximate because it will be following late-running football, followed by a 90-minute premiere of The Amazing Race from approx. 8:30-10:00 PM, ET/PT and the second season of Undercover Boss at a special time of approx. 10:00 PM, ET/PT. A week later on Sunday, Oct. 3, CSI: Miami makes its ninth season premiere on its night at 10:00 PM, ET/PT, as Undercover Boss settles into its 9:00 PM ET/PT time period.

CBS has ordered a new mid-season series for early 2011. The comedic drama Chaos, starring Freddy Rodriguez, Eric Close, James Murray, Tim Blake Nelson and Carmen Ejogo, has been ordered by CBS for mid-season.
Chaos focuses on a group of rogue CIA spies in the Office of Disruptive Services (ODS), who combat threats to national security amidst bureaucratic gridlock, rampant incompetence and political infighting.
The late order is the second late order for a CBS mid-season series joining comedy Mad Love.
