Live Staged Reading of Three's Company Episode; Freeform Acquires According to Jim for October

On September 12, 2025, join The John Ritter Foundation For Aortic Health on their LIVESTREAM of a live staged reading of a Three's Company episode (Season 7 episode "Going to Pot" from 2/1/83). Laugh. Give. Impact.

This year's gala will showcase a special livestreamed staged reading of Three's Company, featuring original cast members Richard Kline and Priscilla Barnes playing their own characters Larry & Terri, alongside an all-star lineup: Adam Devine as Jack Tripper, Kaley Cuoco as Janet Wood, Jason Alexander as Mr. Furley, Tom Bergeron will narrate, with guest stars Steven Weber, Ron Funches, Reno Wilson, and Holly Robinson Peete.

Pluto TV is set as the exclusive media partner, hosting the on-demand release at a later date. The gala is set for September 12 at the Sunset Room in Hollywood. In addition, Pluto TV, which has a linear channel dedicated to 24/7 episodes of Three's Company, will air a marathon of Three's Company episodes in Ritter's honor.


According to Jim

According to Jim will air throughout the Freeform schedule starting on Wednesday, October 1. Moslty weekday mornings between 10:30am-12pm on most days and in late night from 12am-2am ET. The sitcom joins Boy Meets World on the schedule, which airs in the morning. According to Jim ran for eight seasons from 2001-2009 on ABC starring Jim Belushi. It has been in broadcast syndication and also on TBS on cable in the past. Currently it also airs on dignet Laff TV since 2019.

Belushi plays an easy-going suburban Chicago father who often finds himself in challenging situations due to his slacker ways. He is frequently at odds with his wife, Cheryl, played by Courtney Thorne-Smith, and together they raise their three children, with twins being born in the seventh season to make it a party of five. Cheryl's brother, Andy (Larry Joe Campbell), is Jim's partner-in-crime, while Kimberly Williams-Paisley plays Cheryl's sister and best friend.

NBC's Password Renewed for Season 3 for 2026; Pluto TV Streaming CBS Shows Ahead of Fall Season

NBC has renewed its hit game show Password for a fun-filled third season of the ultimate word showdown. Get ready for more outrageous clues, wild guesses and comedic moments as Keke Palmer returns as host alongside wordplay master Jimmy Fallon. Filming is currently underway in New Jersey. Episodes will air sometime in 2026 with celebrities including comedian Anthony Anderson and basketball player Josh Hart.

Password is back to build on the classic gameplay elements that made this legendary format a hit. Each episode delivers fast-paced, high-stakes fun as recurring player Jimmy Fallon teams up with a contestant to face off against a celebrity guest/contestant duo. With hilarious one-word clues, teams race to guess the secret password for a chance to win cash prizes.

2024 Christmas Eve and Christmas Day TV Marathons

Welcome to a special Christmas marathon style edition of the News Blog! That means we will recap all of the holiday episode stunts and marathons on TV this holiday on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day!

Some of the major TV stunts we mentioned already were Freeform's 25 Days of Christmas 2024 edition, concluding on Christmas Day after 25 days. That is always a fan favorite pick of course! Some of the stuff that will air on Christmas Eve and Day on Freeform include The Santa Clause and Home Alone. However, our pick of the marathons is once again on Antenna TV! Starting Christmas Eve they have a "Classic Christmas Collection" marathon beginning at 10am on Christmas Eve through 5am Christmas Day. Then they will have a "Christmas Through the Years" marathon on Christmas Day running from 10am-5am following The Yule Log. Shows airing during these two events include Father Knows Best to Bewitched to The Facts of Life to Three's Company! Sister network Rewind TV will have similar marathons on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with shows such as Who's the Boss?, Sabrina the Teenage Witch and The Drew Carey Show. The MeTV Network will also have holiday episodes of their series for their A Very Merry MeTV block but also The Ed Sullivan Show Christmas special on Christmas Eve from 1am-3am.

Streaming networks like Pluto TV has a nice holiday schedule, too, as we mentioned. Laff, Bounce and ION will air some holiday episodes as well. There is something for everyone, including holiday TV movies on Hallmark, Lifetime and GAC.

Saturday Night Live

Paul Mescal will make his Saturday Night Live hosting debut on December 7. The Academy Award-nominated actor stars in Gladiator II, now in theaters. Shaboozey will perform as musical guest for the first time. The six-time 2025 Grammy Award nominee's single, "A Bar Song (Tipsy)," has been #1 for a record-tying 19 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100. Chris Rock will host SNL for the fourth time on December 14. Rock is an Emmy and Grammy Award-winning comedian, actor, writer, producer and director. Gracie Abrams will make her SNL musical guest debut. The Grammy nominee continues her worldwide tour in 2025 in support of her newest album, "The Secret of Us." Martin Short will return for his third individual SNL hosting appearance on December 21 and fifth overall. The Emmy and Tony Award winner stars in Only Murders in the Building, streaming on Hulu. Hozier will take the stage for the second time as musical guest. "Unreal Unearth: Unending," the deluxe version of his chart-topping album "Unreal Unearth," will be released December 6.

In addition to the broadcast on NBC (11:30 p.m. ET / 8:30 p.m. PT), SNL streams live on Peacock. Stream every season of SNL now on Peacock. SNL will mark its 50th anniversary with a celebratory weekend culminating in a live primetime special on Sunday, February 16.

The comedy talk show Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen will be added to the CBS fall late night lineup for a limited run with nightly airings (two back-to-back episodes per night) beginning Monday, Sept. 18 (12:37-1:37 AM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+. Unsolved Mysteries: Behind the Legacy

Unsolved Mysteries: Behind the Legacy is an hour-long tribute to the iconic series that shaped future generations of true crime TV. Sitting down with co-creators Terry Dunn Meurer and John Cosgrove, along with long-time producers and directors of the show, fans will get to pull back the curtain and experience their favorite show in a whole new light. The crew divulges behind the scenes stories, covering all aspects of the show from research to filming to solving mysteries. With never-before-seen outtakes of beloved host Robert Stack and a look into some fan-favorite cases, Unsolved Mysteries: Behind the Legacy honors one of television's most enduring and iconic shows, as well as the fans who were integral to its success. The creators note that it is the loyal viewers who proved what the show always stood for: that someone, somewhere knows the truth.

  • Fans of classic TV should be excited to hear this: Pluto TV is adding 6,300 episodes of classic CBS series from their vault to the streaming service, including Frasier, Cheers, and Petticoat Junction, among others. (Variety)
  • Because almost everything that is proposed at HBO Max get scrapped now that Warner is owned by a company that believes entertainment should be Chip and Joanna Gaines and/or people who are freaks of nature, it shouldn't be a surprise to know that the anticipated Degrassi reboot has met that fate as well.   • But don't worry, as HBO Max continues to bring you less scripted entertainment and more Chip and Joanna Gaines, they have plans to raise the cost of their subscription and double the ads on their ad-free tier. (Deadline)
  • Tuca & Bertie got saved by Adult Swim after Netflix cancelled it but now the network (which is owned by Warner Bros Discover, of course) has cancelled it after two seasons. (The Verge)
  • Just in time for non-stop Christmas movies, Peacock is now streaming Hallmark Channel (as well as the two spinoff channels) for subscribers. (Deadline)
  • CNBC has decided to cancel Shepard Smith's evening news show. (Variety)

Hulu Orders Season 3 of Only Murders in the Building; Pluto Announces New 24/7 Channels Including Let's Make a Deal

Hulu Original comedy series Only Murders in the Building, which hails from 20th Television, has been renewed for a third season. New episodes of the current second season stream weekly on Tuesdays. News is on the heels of a successful first and second season. The first season debuted as the most-watched comedy series in Hulu Originals' history.

Following the shocking death of Arconia Board President Bunny Folger, Charles, Oliver and Mabel race to unmask her killer. However, three (unfortunate) complications ensue - the trio is publicly implicated in Bunny's homicide, they are now the subjects of a competing podcast, and they have to deal with a bunch of New York neighbors who all think they committed murder. Only Murders in the Building hails from co-creators and writers Steve Martin and John Hoffman (Grace & Frankie, Looking). Martin and Hoffman executive produce along with Martin Short, Selena Gomez, This Is Us creator Dan Fogelman and Jess Rosenthal.


Let's Make a Deal - Pluto

As of yesterday, Fremantle and Pluto TV have launched a new streaming channel dedicated wholly to Let's Make a Deal and featuring EMMY winner and multi-talented host Wayne Brady. The Let's Make a Deal channel will be available to all Pluto TV users and will feature episodes 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Pluto TV has also added a Judge Judy channel, and will add Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune channels in August. The classic game show, Let's Make a Deal, features costumed contestants competing for cash and prizes by striking wacky deals. Pluto TV users will be able to get their game show fix as the Let's Make a Deal” channel broadcasts hundreds of episodes from the show's previous seasons. Let's Make a Deal first premiered in 1963 with Monty Hall serving as the original host. In 2009, the show was revived with new host Brady, who has been hosting it ever since. The show also features announcer Jonathan Mangum, model Tiffany Coyne and band leader Cat Gray. This latest version of Let's Make a Deal has received 29 Daytime Emmy Nominations, with three wins including one for Brady as Outstanding Game Show host.

Fremantle and Pluto TV invite you to "Come On Down" for the most exciting new launch in vintage television history. Beginning today, (December 1, 2020) "The Price Is Right: The Barker Era" will be available to all Pluto TV users and will feature Barker-isms 24 hours a day, seven days a week – "Here's the first item up for bid on The Price Is Right". The new channel will celebrate one of the most iconic names in game show history, Bob Barker, bringing him back for fans as well as introducing him to a whole new generation. Having spent 35 years as the host of television's longest running game show, the beloved animal rights activist had the ability to connect with his audience like no other and was the recipient of 19 Daytime Emmy Awards and also received an Emmy Award for Lifetime Achievement in 1999.

As we mentioned a few months back, Nick at Nite has acquired the rights to Young Sheldon. The comedy series will begin airing this Monday (Nov. 30). The first night it will air from 9pm-12am, before settling into the every night from 9pm-10:30pm slot leading into a night of Friends from 10:30pm-5am. Mom will air from 5am-6am and Nick at Nite concludes with a half-hour of Full House at 6am. Young Sheldon will also have a marathon on Saturday, Dec. 5 from 9pm-5:30am.

In the single camera, half-hour comedy Young Sheldon, viewers get the chance to meet the iconic, eccentric and extraordinary Sheldon Cooper in childhood in East Texas, as the young once-in-a-generation mind (series star Iain Armitage) embarks on his innocent, awkward and hopeful journey toward the man he will become in The Big Bang Theory. In addition to Armitage, Young Sheldon stars Zoe Perry, Lance Barber, Montana Jordan, and Raegan Revord, with Annie Potts (Ghostbusters) and Jim Parsons, who narrates as the voice of Sheldon. Created by Chuck Lorre & Steven Molaro, the series is produced by Chuck Lorre Productions, Inc., in association with Warner Bros. Television.

black-ish Returns with Special Episodes on Election; Shout! Factory TV and Pluto TV Launches The Carol Burnett Show Channel

The Johnsons and black-ish return to ABC with a special one-hour television special on Sunday, Oct. 4 from 10:00-11:00 p.m. EDT on ABC. The two back-to-back episodes, which will air ahead of the official season seven premiere, will follow the Johnsons as they navigate the upcoming election, with Junior (Marcus Scribner) embarking on his journey as a first-time voter and Dre (Anthony Anderson) launching an exploration into local politics. The special will be presented in part as an animated episode. Oscar® winner Matthew A. Cherry (Hair Love) is set to direct. An official premiere date for the highly anticipated seventh season will be announced shortly (airdate and timing are subject to the change due to the NBA Finals schedule).

In "Election Special Pt. 1," (10:00-10:30 p.m. EDT), Junior is excited for his first time voting but discovers he has been purged from the voter polls so he does a deep dive into why – trying to understand the systems in place for voter registration. “Election Special Pt. 1" is directed by Matthew A. Cherry and written by Eric Horsted. Then, in a special animated episode, "Election Special Pt. 2," (10:30-11:00 p.m. EDT), Dre's colleague Stevens (Peter Mackenzie) makes an ill-advised decision to run for Congress, so Dre enlists his family's help and campaigns against him but gets caught up with fundraising and private interest groups. "Election Special Pt. 2" is directed by Matthew A. Cherry and written by Graham Towers & Ben Deeb. In its upcoming seventh season, black-ish will continue to tell stories that shine a light on current events through the lens of the Johnson family, addressing the global pandemic, systemic racism and the movement for social justice and equality.

  • Last Man Standing has been doing rather well on Fox, but regardless, they're adding a new regular character to the series, Jen, a foreign exchange student who will live with the Baxter family. (Deadline)
  • It was about time for it to happen: Netflix is set to reboot Unsolved Mysteries. (Deadline)
  • Trial & Error is officially cancelled at NBC, but that doesn't necessarily mean it won't pop up elsewhere (though it isn't looking good). (Entertainment Weekly)
  • Steve Carell is looking to head back into the sitcom realm. (SitcomsOnline)

Parks and Recreation Cast

  • Conan returns to TBS, with a new format, on Tuesday.
  • The last batch of episodes of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt will be released on Friday on Netflix.

Comedy superstars Tracy Morgan and Tiffany Haddish are back for a second helping of The Last O.G., which debuted as 2018's #1 new cable comedy and the biggest cable comedy premiere since 2015, reaching 43.1 million viewers across all platforms in season one.   • Pluto TV, a free live streaming service that you can watch on smart TVs and various streaming media devices, has announced a deal with Sony, and it will include TV titles such as Bewitched and Charlie’s Angels. (Deadline)
  • The Magnum, PI reboot and Hawaii Five-0 will have a crossover event to bring both shows in to the same universe. (TV Guide)
  • If you’ve got $1.85 million, you can buy the house used for the exterior on The Brady Bunch, and we’d really like to see somebody buy it who isn’t planning to tear it down. (Deadline)
  • Freeform and Up TV have both acquired reruns of Fresh Off the Boat. (Broadcasting & Cable)
  • Roseanne has made a video on YouTube that she recorded from her “own personal studio” (we assume that it’s her living room) where she explains why she thinks that she was fired, and it is clear that all is not well with her. (Deadline)
  • Rugrats is returning to Nickelodeon with new episodes. (SitcomsOnline)
