One Tree Hill Reunion on New CBS Series; Bel-Air Announces Recurring Cast, Including Karrueche Tran & Duane Martin
Yesterday, Good Sam star Sophia Bush reunited with her One Tree Hill co-stars Hilarie Burton and Bethany Joy Lenz on the Toronto set of her new CBS medical drama. Burton and Lenz are set to guest star in an upcoming episode, which began shooting today. On Good Sam, Burton and Lenz will play sisters, Gretchen and Amy Taylor, respectively, who cross paths with Dr. Sam Griffith (Bush) when Amy is admitted as a patient at Detroit's Lakeshore Sentinel Hospital. Additional details about the episode will be announced at a later date, including an air date. Currently, the trio co-host the iHeartRadio podcast Drama Queens, which revisits the experience of filming The CW's beloved coming-of-age drama that wrapped 10 years ago. Their characters - Bush's Brooke Davis, Burton's Peyton Sawyer and Lenz's Haley James - were close friends who weathered life's highs and lows, from high school into early adulthood, together.
Good Sam stars Sophia Bush and Jason Isaacs in a drama about Dr. Sam Griffith, a gifted heart surgeon who excels in her new leadership role as chief of surgery after her renowned boss falls into a coma. When her former boss wakes up months later demanding to resume his duties, Sam is tasked with supervising this egotistical expert with a scalpel who never acknowledged her stellar talent. Complicating matters, the caustic and arrogant Dr. Rob "Griff" Griffith also happens to be her father. As Griff defies Sam's authority and challenges her medical expertise, the big question becomes whether this father and daughter will ever be able to mend their own relationship as expertly as they heal the hearts of their patients. Good Sam airs Wednesdays, 10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT on the CBS Television Network, and is available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+.
Peacock's highly anticipated drama series Bel-Air has cast Karrueche Tran, Duane Martin, April Parker Jones, SteVonté Hart, Joe Holt, Scottie Thompson, Jon Beavers, Tyler Barnhardt and Charlie Hall as recurring guest stars. Bel-Air will premiere on Peacock on Super Bowl Sunday (February 13, 2022) with three episodes at launch and new episodes released every Thursday. Karrueche Tran (Claws, The Bay) will play Ivy, a top-tier social media influencer who offers to help Hilary with her influencer business. Duane Martin (All of Us, Real Husbands of Hollywood) will play Steven Lewis, Philip Banks' campaign manager on his run for LA District Attorney. Steven is a seasoned political strategist and has operated in Democratic Party politics for his entire career. He believes that he can help Phil win. April Parker Jones (If Loving You is Wrong, Supergirl) will play Viola 'Vy' Smith, Will's mother and Aunt Viv's older sister. Having always put her son first, Vy makes the tough decision to send Will to live with her sister, even though they haven't spoken in years. SteVonté Hart (Little Fires Everywhere, Queen Sugar) will play Tray Melbert, Will's best friend and basketball teammate from West Philly. With Will's sudden departure to Bel-Air, Tray risks falling victim to the streets of West Philly. Joe Holt (The Walking Dead: World Beyond, The Punisher) will play Fred Wilkes, the Police Chief and Lisa's father. Wilkes and the Banks' family have run in the same circles for years. Scottie Thompson (NCIS, Macguyver, 12 Monkeys) will play Angela, an interior designer, newly married to Police Chief and Lisa's father, Fred Wilkes. Angela tries to navigate her new role in the family. Jon Beavers (Licorice Pizza, Animal Kingdom) will play Kylo, a social media influencer. He provides Hilary Banks with an interview opportunity to join his influencer house. Tyler Barnhardt (13 Reasons Why, Tales From The Loop) will play Connor Satterfield, Carlton's best friend, lacrosse teammate and the most popular kid in school, second to Carlton. Connor crosses boundaries that cause tension between him and Will. Charlie Hall (Single Drunk Female, Moxie) will play Tyler Laramy, a member of the Bel-Air Academy basketball team and one of Will's good friends at school. Tyler is known for being the class-clown and pushing his teachers' buttons.
Set in modern-day America, Peacock's new one-hour drama series Bel-Air imagines the beloved sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air through a new, dramatic take on Will's complicated journey from the streets of West Philadelphia to the gated mansions of Bel-Air. As these two worlds collide, Will reckons with the power of second chances while navigating the conflicts, emotions, and biases of a world far different from the only one he's ever known. Executive produced by Will Smith, and inspired by Morgan Cooper's viral trailer that reimagined the iconic, culture-defining '90s sitcom, Bel-Air takes a fresh and raw approach to this world of swagger, style, and aspiration, while exploring Will's complex journey through a current lens. The new series features an ensemble cast that introduces Jabari Banks as Will and a creative team that includes Cooper, who serves as director, co-writer, and executive producer, and co-showrunners and executive producers T.J. Mr. Mayor follows a retired businessman who runs for mayor of Los Angeles to prove he's "still got it." Once he wins, he has to figure out what he stands for, gain the respect of his biggest critic and connect with his teenage daughter, all while trying to get anything right for America's second weirdest city.

Ted Danson (Mayor Neil Bremer) is a veteran sitcom actor known, of course, for his iconic role as Sam Malone on the classic NBC comedy Cheers. More recently, he was known as Michael on the critic and fan beloved sitcom The Good Place and his other TV work includes Becker, CSI, Damages and Help Me Help You.
Bobby Moynihan (Jayden Kwapis) is best known for being a cast member on Saturday Night Live from 2008 to 2017. He is also known for his voice work on TV shows and films such as DuckTales, The Secret Life of Pets and Monsters University.
Holly Hunter (Arpi Meskimen) is an actress known for her roles in films such as The Incredibles, Raising Arizona, and Crash, as well as her role in TV shows Saving Grace and Succession.
Mike Cabellon (Tommy Tomás) is a comedian known for his role on shows such as Orange Is the New Black, Crashing, and High Maintenance.
Vella Lovell (Mikaela Shaw) is an actress best known as Heather on the fan beloved musical comedy Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, and for her guest roles on shows such as Younger and Girls.
Kyla Kennedy (Orly Bremer) is an actress best known for playing Dylan DiMeo on the ABC sitcom Speechless. She also starred in the television film Raising Izzie and the AMC horror series The Walking Dead.
Pilot Plot:
"Pilot" (Airs Thursday, January 7 at 8:00PM ET)
In the series premiere, Neil Bremer (Ted Danson) starts his first day as mayor of Los Angeles, where he faces new challenges on the job and at home. Also starring Holly Hunter, Bobby Moynihan, Mike Cabellon, Vella Lovell and Kyla Kenedy.
Analysis:
Mr. Mayor is one of the most anticipated new shows of the TV season, and not only because this is a TV season fairly light on new TV shows. The sitcom comes from the minds of Tina Fey and Robert Carlock, who have been some of the most respected modern comedy writers. They, of course, were the creators of the brilliant 30 Rock, which I'd rank among the best sitcoms of all time, and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, which I wouldn't rank quite as highly but was still an incredibly creative and hilarious show, and one of the funniest sitcoms of the streaming era. So Mr. Mayor has some pretty big shoes to fill. Unfortunately, at least in its first two episodes, Mr. Mayor doesn't seem able to do that, as it simply doesn't live up to the lofty expectations I had for a Fey/Carlock sitcom. Looked at as a regular broadcast sitcom, it's a solid example of the form, with a killer cast and a handful of funny lines. But whereas 30 Rock and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt felt like unique breaths of fresh air in their own rights, Mr. Mayor feels like a slightly above average NBC sitcom.
The biggest issue I have with Mr. Mayor is the the characters, at this point, simply feel too generic, lacking the funny specificity that made the characters of 30 Rock and Kimmy Schmidt so iconic. Danson's Mayor Brenner specifically is a problem, not due to any fault of his own, but he just doesn't really have much of a point of view other than "guy who is mayor who probably shouldn't be." I do think that part of this is because Mr. Mayor was initially envisioned as a 30 Rock spin-off with Alec Baldwin's Jack Donaghy in the place of Danson, and it feels like in these early episodes, the writers haven't quite figured out what makes Brenner tick yet. However, some of the other characters are also issues. Holly Hunter's Apri is too screechy and one-dimensional, recalling some of Kimmy Schmidt's most groan-worthy political satire. There is certainly room for satire of the social justice orientated crowd, but as was the issue on Kimmy Schmidt, the satire is just a bit too broad here, nothing more interesting than what you’d find in a Twitter thread. The best character so far is Bobby Moynihan's Jayden (he has the best line in either episode when he declares himself "the first Jayden, the original Jayden," referring to the fact that he's seemingly the only Jaden born before the '90s), who taps into that 30 Rock/Kimmy Schmidt specific weirdness the most. I'd like to see more of that kind of humor, as that's where Fey/Carlock really shine in their writing.
Luckily, if NBC gives it a chance, I think there's a lot of potential for Mr. Mayor to eventually work out its kinks and become a great sitcom. The cast is excellent, doing their best with mostly average material, and the concept certainly has promise. It would be fun to see the unique eye that Fey/Carlock had on NYC in their previous sitcoms be transported to LA. And it's important to note that sitcoms, even great ones, often don't come out of the gate swinging. 30 Rock's first few episodes were fairly average as well, and like Mr. Mayor, felt more like a generic broadcast sitcom than what the show would become. (Kimmy Schmidt was weird and proud pretty much right out of the gate, but that's probably why NBC had cold feet about it and sent it to Netflix.) The world could use some great new Fey/Carlock comedy, so hopefully Mr. Mayor sticks around long enough to discover what really makes it work.
Conclusion:
Mr. Mayor is a funny enough distraction during a season with less broadcast content than usual, even if it doesn't live up to the standards of its predecessors 30 Rock and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, at least not yet. There are hints of things that could eventually turn this into must-watch TV in the way those shows were, as long as the show can find a more original and funny pathways for humor with its characters than the first two episodes provide. Still, in a world desperately in need of some laughs, Mr. Mayor can provide those, even if it's not quite as many as I hoped for.

Five years after their show has ended, they lean on each other as they struggle to reclaim their previous level of success and relevance, awkwardly navigating the perils of life and love amidst a humorously painful coming of age. The series also stars Alexandra Park (The Royals), as Andrea Cooper-Davis, Jeremy's wife who supports her husband both financially and emotionally.

CBS Announces Reality and Movie Plans for May; AMC Launching Friday Night in with the Morgans
CBS announced the three-hour season finale of Survivor: Winners at War will air Wednesday, May 13 from 8:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT on the CBS Television Network. One week later, the new season of The Amazing Race will premiere with a two-hour episode on Wednesday, May 20 from 8:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT. The Amazing Race assumes its regular Wednesday 8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT time period on May 27. Prior to the finale, Survivor will have a special two-hour penultimate episode, Wednesday, May 6 from 8:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT.
CBS announced plans to launch a Sunday movie night in May, featuring five iconic and acclaimed feature films from the Paramount Pictures library. Each week, CBS will give viewers the opportunity to revisit the following beloved films that remain a big part of the cultural zeitgeist: Forrest Gump, Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Mission: Impossible all at 8pm and Titanic will start at 7pm. Now that HGTV has fully renovated the iconic Brady Bunch house into a replica of the original TV set design from The Brady Bunch sitcom, the network will give one lucky winner the chance to "live like a Brady" with the HGTV "A Very Brady Contest." Beginning now through 5 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Sept. 11, Brady Bunch superfans can submit their grooviest, most creative :30- to :90-second video that shares why they deserve to win the ultimate Brady fan prize—a six-night stay at the Brady Bunch house in Los Angeles from Dec. 9 to 15, 2019. The grand prize also includes coach roundtrip airfare for the winner and up to six guests, a curated LA tourist experience and $25,000 cash. Premiering in September, the upcoming HGTV series A Very Brady Renovation will feature the full-scale overhaul of the real Brady Bunch house in Los Angeles. Exterior shots of that house were often used to establish a sense of time and place for the Brady family. HGTV executed a show-stopping transformation of the home by adding 2,000 square feet to its original footprint—all without compromising its instantly recognizable street view. It also renovated and replicated the Brady Bunch house to include the iconic floating staircase, the orange-and-green kitchen, Greg's attic, the kids Jack-n-Jill bathroom and many more memorable spaces. The house will forever hold a special place in television history and American pop culture.

This ensemble comedy follows a group of single parents as they lean on each other to help raise their 7-year-old kids and maintain some kind of personal lives outside of parenthood. The series begins when the group meets Will Cooper, a 30-something guy who's been so focused on raising his daughter that he's lost sight of who he is as a man. When the other single parents see just how far down the rabbit hole of PTA, parenting and princesses Will has gone, they band together to get him out in the world and make him realize that being a great parent doesn't mean sacrificing everything about your own identity.

Kimrie Lewis (Poppy) played reporter Ashley on ABC's Scandal for five seasons. Kimrie has made numerous television guest appearances, including Superstore, 2 Broke Girls, The Mindy Project, New Girl and Raven's Home, to name a few. She starred alongside Kerry Washington, Craig Robinson and David Alan Grier in the Lionsgate film Peeples and will appear on IFC's Brockmire, with Hank Azaria.
Jake Choi (Miggy) performed on stage all over NYC and in film and television before relocating to Los Angeles, where he booked Single Parents as his first series regular role.
Marlow Barkley (Sophie) has done voiceover work for The Loud House on Nickelodeon. This summer, she will be performing as Kate in The Hollywood Bowl's production of Annie.
Tyler Wladis (Graham) is most recognized for his role as Ralphie's little brother Randy in Fox’s A Christmas Story Live (2017). He has performed in many regional stage productions. He was featured on an episode of Nick Jr.'s Sunny Day and did voice-over work for the feature film It Comes at Night.
Devin Trey Campbell (Rory) began his professional acting career at the age of 7 as Young Lola in Broadway's Kinky Boots. Having held the role for two years, he decided to transition to television and can be seen in projects such as Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, Bea Unicorn by Sesame Studios and Nickelodeon's Shimmer and Shine.
Ella and Mia Allan (Amy and Emma) are already quite accomplished in the film and television industry, having landed numerous supporting, recurring and series-regular roles all by the age of 7 years old. Ella and Mia are known for their roles as Bobbi Sparks on Young Sheldon (CBS), Ellie and Anna Solano on Jane the Virgin (CW), Norma Jean on The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe (Lifetime), Nora Braverman on Parenthood (NBC) and Baby Thomas on Sons of Anarchy (FX).
Brad Garrett (Douglas) won three Emmys® and a SAG Award for his role as Robert Barone on the iconic television series Everybody Loves Raymond. He was also nominated for an Emmy and SAG Award for his portrayal of The Great One in the telefilm Gleason. Garrett is a featured regular on season two of Showtime's I'm Dying Up Here. He also starred on the Fox sitcom 'Til Death.

Tyler Wladis (Graham) is most recognized for his role as Ralphie's little brother Randy in Fox’s A Christmas Story Live (2017). He has performed in many regional stage productions. He was featured on an episode of Nick Jr.'s Sunny Day and did voice-over work for the feature film It Comes at Night.
Devin Trey Campbell (Rory) began his professional acting career at the age of 7 as Young Lola in Broadway's Kinky Boots. Having held the role for two years, he decided to transition to television and can be seen in projects such as Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, Bea Unicorn by Sesame Studios and Nickelodeon's Shimmer and Shine.
Ella and Mia Allan (Amy and Emma) are already quite accomplished in the film and television industry, having landed numerous supporting, recurring and series-regular roles all by the age of 7 years old. Brad Garrett (Douglas) won three Emmys® and a SAG Award for his role as Robert Barone on the iconic television series Everybody Loves Raymond. He was also nominated for an Emmy and SAG Award for his portrayal of The Great One in the telefilm Gleason. Garrett is a featured regular on season two of Showtime's I'm Dying Up Here. He also starred on the Fox sitcom 'Til Death.

A premiere episode of a comedy series should have three things to look for in a pilot episode: a good set-up to the series, being funny, and having a cast that is likable. And this pilot does a very good job of that. We meet Will Cooper, a new member of a group of single parents, and he meshes well with them. The pilot is definitely funny and I see a lot of good funniness still to come. It has the Modern Family-feel to it (and it will follow that comedy on ABC every Wednesday night). Modern Family is probably the last epic comedy pilot we have seen, as it was done to perfection. This pilot is no where near that, but we can't really compare it to that. What we can do is compare it to this year's comedy batch, and this is surely the best of the bunch. And this batch of comedies this year are not the duds from last year either, as there are some good ones this year. We have a very likable cast of characters in Single Parents. The series has about 10 regular players, so it will get some time to get used to everyone...but all of the children on this series are amazing and funny. They join ABC's amazing child actors line-up, as nearly all of their comedies have great child characters (see Fresh off the Boat, Speechless, black-ish, and more).
Taran Killam, Leighton Meester and Brad Garrett are all recognizable names on this series, and they are of course good, but don't overlook the performances of the children and the scene stealer Jake Choi as Miggy. Killam, the children, and Choi are clearly the stars of this pilot. The pilot is funny and has the nice heartwarming feel to it, like most ABC comedies. I think it will even get funnier as the episodes go along and we learn more about the characters and their dynamics. As I feel Meester and Garrett will have more of a bigger role in future episodes. I think Garrett could have the magic of Ed O'Neill from Modern Family if we see more of him.

Conclusion:
Overall, this is a solid pilot and near the excellence level. It's certainly not all there yet, but by far has the most potential. It tackles the dynamic of families of single parents, as we really haven't seen a comedy fully devoted to that yet. ABC has heavily promoted this comedy as much as they have A Million Little Things (the fall's best new show) and Nathan Fillion's The Rookie. This comedy is one to watch. And people will watch as it follows Modern Family and leads into the most talked about new drama A Million Little Things. Killam shines with the kids. Hey Fox, this is the show with "the cool kids." We can't wait to see where this show goes!

Remembering Davy Jones, Antenna TV Airing The Monkees Marathon; The CW Announces Season Finale Dates and New Series Premiere
British-born actor and singer-songwriter Davy Jones, best known as a member of The Monkees, has died. Jones had complained of breathing difficulties on Wednesday (February 29) morning in Indiantown, Florida. He was transported to Martin Memorial South Hospital in Stuart, where he was pronounced dead after suffering a heart attack. Mr. Jones was 66.
Jones' career in show business began at age 11 in 1961 on the British soap opera Coronation Street. A year later, he appeared in the BBC police series Z-Cars. He played the role of the Artful Dodger in Oliver! in London and then on Broadway. The role garnered him a Tony Award. Following an appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show on February 9, 1964, with the cast of Oliver!, he was signed by Screen Gems to an acting contract. This led to guest appearances on Ben Casey and The Farmer's Daughter.
In the fall 1965, auditions were held for The Monkees. Due to his contract with Screen Gems, he was shortlisted for the auditions and identified in advance as a potential star for the series. The Monkees premiered on September 12, 1966, on NBC. Although the series ran for only 2 seasons and 58 episodes, it remains hugely popular to this day. They received two Emmy Awards in 1967: Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Comedy (James Frawley). The Monkees music hits include (Theme From) The Monkees, Last Train to Clarksville. I'm a Believer, (I'm Not Your Steppin' Stone, A Little Bit Me, A Little Bit You, Pleasant Valley Sunday, Daydream Believer and Valleri. In 1968, they appeared in the feature film Head. The band has reunited several times over the years for tours.
After the show ended and the band disbanded, Jones had a solo singing career and continued acting. One of his solo hits was Rainy Jane in 1971. He made guest appearances on sitcoms like The Joey Bishop Show, Make Room for Granddaddy, The Brady Bunch (where he performed Girl), Love, American Style, The New Love, American Style, Sledge Hammer!, My Two Dads, The Single Guy, Boy Meets World and Sabrina, the Teenage Witch. In 1995, he appeared in The Brady Bunch Movie.
Mr. Jones is survived by his wife, Jessica Pachecho, and four daughters from his first two marriages, Talia Elizabeth, Sarah Lee, Jessica Lillian and Annabel Charlotte. We were shocked to hear the news of his death at the young age of 66. We'll never forget The Monkees for their classic sitcom and many music hits. He will be deeply missed.

As for a tribute marathon to Davy, we got news for you! As we first broke yesterday, Antenna TV will air a marathon of his sitcom The Monkees. From "Daydream Believer" to "Last Train to Clarksville," The Monkees band won hearts on both sides of the pond. Beginning this Saturday (March 3), Antenna TV remembers Davy Jones with a weekend-long tribute. Antenna TV, which airs on 60 affiliates across the U.S. reaching 58% of TV households, will honor Davy Jones on The Monkees TV series beginning with a special airing of Head (1968 film featuring the band) at 1pm ET on Saturday. Antenna TV will also air a complete 58-episode marathon (that's 29 hours!) of the 1966-68 The Monkees series on Saturday, beginning at 5pm ET, and running straight through to Sunday, March 4 with an encore airing of the 1968 film Head at 10PM ET.
Me-TV will air a special tribute to Davy Jones on Sunday, March 4, 2012, beginning at 12:30pm ET with episodes of The Brady Bunch and Love, American Style featuring the memorable pop idol. Davy Jones took America by storm as a member of The Monkees musical group of the ‘60’s and stole Marcia Brady’s heart in the Getting Davy Jones episode of he Brady Bunch. Jones later starred in two episodes of Love, American Style in the ‘70’s, showcasing his unique style, charm and wit that were his trademark throughout his career. In Love and The Elopement, Davy plays a confused suitor opposite Karen Valentine. Love and The Model Apartment features Davy in a rather unique honeymoon suite.

The CW today announced the dates for the midseason premiere of its new drama The L.A. Complex as well as the finales for the remainder of the season, including One Tree Hill, which will conclude its nine-year run in a special, two-hour series finale Wednesday, April 4 from 8:00-10:00 pm. The finale will include interviews with the show's stars as they look back at the series' most memorable moments and share their favorite One Tree Hill memories.
The CW will premiere the U.S. television premiere of sexy, six-part Canadian drama The L.A. Complex on Tuesday, April 24, at 9:00 pm. The L.A. Complex is a dramatic look into the lives of six young performers striving for stardom in Hollywood. Living in an apartment-style motel for displaced dreamers, each having been dubbed "most likely to succeed" in their hometowns, they now face the challenges and opportunities of a lifetime in the City of Angels. As a result, freshman drama Ringer will continue its freshman run without repeats, airing all original episodes straight through to its season finale Tuesday, April 17. The rest of The CW finales are in May. The Vampire Diaries and The Secret Circle conclude their season runs on Thursday, May 10. Then on Monday, May 14, Gossip Girl and Hart of Dixie will air their season finales, and the following night features the season finale of 90210 at 8:00 pm on Tuesday, May 15. The CW Mid-Season 2012 Schedule; SOAPnet Schedules Brothers & Sisters Thanksgiving Marathon
The CW Network announced their midseason plans for the 2011-2012 season, including the final 13 episodes of long-running drama One Tree Hill, the series premiere of reality series Remodeled and the return of original episodes across the schedule, starting Thursday, January 5 with The Vampire Diaries and The Secret Circle. The final season of One Tree Hill premieres Wednesday, January 11 at 8:00 p.m. ET. The series stars Sophia Bush as Brooke Davis, Bethany Joy Galeotti as Haley James Scott, James Lafferty as Nathan Scott, Robert Buckley as Clay Evans, Austin Nichols as Julian Baker, Shantel VanSanten as Quinn James and Jackson Brundage as Jamie Scott. New reality series Remodeled, premiering Wednesday, January 18, at 9:00 p.m. ET and centers around modeling industry veteran Paul Fisher as he tries to bring together hundreds of small agencies around the world in a new venture called The Network.

Critics' Choice Television Awards Winners; The CW Fall 2011 Premiere Dates, Announces Summer Changes
The Broadcast Television Journalists Association (BTJA), a new offshoot of the Broadcast Film Critics Association, announced the winners of the first-ever Critics' Choice Television Awards. The star-studded luncheon to acknowledge and honor the best in television was held at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Monday and hosted by So You Think You Can Dance star Cat Deeley.
Mad Men took home the prize for Best Drama Series while Modern Family won in the Best Comedy Series category. Cable and satellite network ReelzChannel TV will broadcast the Critics' Choice Television Awards premiering TONIGHT (Wednesday, June 22) at 8 p.m. ET and repeating at 11 p.m. and 2 a.m. ET. The CW Network will launch the 2011-2012 season on Tuesday, September 13, with four new series and returning favorites on new nights. On Tuesday, September 13, the graduates from 90210's West Beverly High move over to Tuesday nights at 8:00 p.m. ET. Following it will be the new drama Ringer (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET), starring Sarah Michelle Gellar as a woman on the run who assumes her twin sister’s identity, only to discover that her sister's life is just as complicated and dangerous as the one she's trying to escape. The next night, Wednesday, September 14, The CW's new reality series H8R, hosted by Mario Lopez, makes its debut at 8:00 p.m. ET, bringing celebrities face-to-face with the people who love to hate them. Then immediately following that premiere will be the first-ever All-Star cycle of America's Next Top Model staying in its new 9:00 p.m. ET slot. On Thursday, September 15, The CW's #1 show, The Vampire Diaries returns in its 8:00 p.m. ET timeslot. However, a new drama will air after the series, as The Secret Circle, also from executive producer Kevin Williamson and based on a series of books by author L.J. Smith, at 9:00 p.m. ET. Britt Robertson stars as Cassie, an orphaned teenage girl who discovers the truth about her lineage – she's a witch who holds the key to an ancient battle between good and evil.
The following week, on September 23, The CW unveils its new action-packed Friday, with Nikita moving to its new night and time of Fridays at 8:00 p.m. ET, followed by the return of the Winchester brothers on Supernatural in its 9:00 p.m. ET timeslot. And last but not least, the Upper East Side of New York drama, Gossip Girl, returns on Monday, September 26, as the teen drama moves back to its former timeslot of 8:00 p.m. ET, followed by new drama Hart of Dixie at 9:00 p.m. ET. From Gossip Girl executive producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, Hart of Dixie stars Rachel Bilson as Dr. Zoe Hart, a sophisticated New York City woman who finds herself practicing medicine in a small Southern town.
Sticking with The CW, they have announced summer repeat changes as well. Beginning Monday, July 18, Gossip Girl repeats will move into its new timeslot of 8:00 p.m. as it gets ready for its new time period this fall. Also beginning Monday, July 18, One Tree Hill repeats will move to Mondays at 9:00 p.m. This means beginning Tuesday, July 19, 90210 will move out of Mondays and move to Tuesdays at 8:00 p.m. as it also gets ready for its fall move. Airing in the 9:00 p.m. on Tuesdays will be repeats of the reality series Shedding for the Wedding. Wednesdays will remain the same all summer long as repeats of America's Next Top Model airs from 8-10:00 p.m. Repeats of The Vampire Diaries will remain on Thursdays as well at 8:00 p.m., but beginning Thursday, July 21 at 9:00 p.m., repeats of reality series Plain Jane will air in the hour, as Nikita gets ready for its Friday move. The CW Network will launch the 2011-2012 season on Tuesday, September 13, with four new series and returning favorites on new nights. On Tuesday, September 13, the graduates from 90210's West Beverly High move over to Tuesday nights at 8:00 p.m. ET. Following it will be the new drama Ringer (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET), starring Sarah Michelle Gellar as a woman on the run who assumes her twin sister’s identity, only to discover that her sister's life is just as complicated and dangerous as the one she's trying to escape. The next night, Wednesday, September 14, The CW's new reality series H8R, hosted by Mario Lopez, makes its debut at 8:00 p.m. ET, bringing celebrities face-to-face with the people who love to hate them. Then immediately following that premiere will be the first-ever All-Star cycle of America's Next Top Model staying in its new 9:00 p.m. ET slot. On Thursday, September 15, The CW's #1 show, The Vampire Diaries returns in its 8:00 p.m. ET timeslot. However, a new drama will air after the series, as The Secret Circle, also from executive producer Kevin Williamson and based on a series of books by author L.J. Smith, at 9:00 p.m. ET. Britt Robertson stars as Cassie, an orphaned teenage girl who discovers the truth about her lineage – she's a witch who holds the key to an ancient battle between good and evil.
The following week, on September 23, The CW unveils its new action-packed Friday, with Nikita moving to its new night and time of Fridays at 8:00 p.m. ET, followed by the return of the Winchester brothers on Supernatural in its 9:00 p.m. ET timeslot. And last but not least, the Upper East Side of New York drama, Gossip Girl, returns on Monday, September 26, as the teen drama moves back to its former timeslot of 8:00 p.m. ET, followed by new drama Hart of Dixie at 9:00 p.m. ET. From Gossip Girl executive producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, Hart of Dixie stars Rachel Bilson as Dr. Zoe Hart, a sophisticated New York City woman who finds herself practicing medicine in a small Southern town.
Sticking with The CW, they have announced summer repeat changes as well. Beginning Monday, July 18, Gossip Girl repeats will move into its new timeslot of 8:00 p.m. as it gets ready for its new time period this fall. Also beginning Monday, July 18, One Tree Hill repeats will move to Mondays at 9:00 p.m. This means beginning Tuesday, July 19, 90210 will move out of Mondays and move to Tuesdays at 8:00 p.m. as it also gets ready for its fall move. Airing in the 9:00 p.m. on Tuesdays will be repeats of the reality series Shedding for the Wedding. Wednesdays will remain the same all summer long as repeats of America's Next Top Model airs from 8-10:00 p.m. Repeats of The Vampire Diaries will remain on Thursdays as well at 8:00 p.m., but beginning Thursday, July 21 at 9:00 p.m., repeats of reality series Plain Jane will air in the hour, as Nikita gets ready for its Friday move. Beginning Friday, July 22, repeats of Nikita will air in its new 8:00 p.m. timeslot leading into repeats of Supernatural, which remains in its 9:00 p.m. timelsot.

68th Annual Golden Globe Awards Nominations; The CW Mid-Season 2011 Schedule
The 68th Annual Golden Globe Awards nominees have been announced! HBO leads with 12 (down 5 from last year) nominations. Showtime follows with 8 (up two from last year). Fox shares the lead with CBS among the broadcast nominees with 6 each this year, followed by NBC with 4 and ABC with 3. Glee was nominated 5 times, for the most of any program. The CW Network announced its mid-season schedule, with the majority of the network's primetime schedule returning with original episodes the week of January 24, including a new night for freshman drama Hellcats. The network also announced the premiere of an all-new cycle of America's Next Top Model and the series premiere of reality series Shedding for the Wedding.
The CW's primetime schedule returns from holiday break with an all-new slate of original episodes the week of January 24, beginning Monday night with original episodes of 90210 and Gossip Girls. Beginning Tuesday, January 25, Hellcats cheers for a new night, Tuesdays at 9 p.m., following new episodes of One Tree Hill. A special season finale of Life UneXpected will air back-to-back episodes on Tuesday, January 18 to close its season and to make room for Hellcats' new night.
America's Next Top Model returns to the catwalk on The CW Wednesday, February 23 with an all-new Cycle 16, followed by the series premiere of Shedding for the Wedding, hosted by Sara Rue (Less than Perfect, Eastwick), February 23 at 9 p.m. The series has an eight episode order and will last through mid-April. And finally, Thursdays and Fridays remain intact with tentpole dramas The Vampire Diaries and Smallville leading off Thursdays and Fridays, respectively, followed by Nikita and Supernatural, all with new episodes starting Jan. 27 and Jan. 28.

The CW Announces Season Finale Dates for 2009-2010; TV Land Announces Honorees for 8th TV Land Awards

TV Land announced today that legendary comedians Mel Brooks and Carl Reiner; the cast of Everybody Loves Raymond including Ray Romano, Brad Garrett, Patricia Heaton, Doris Roberts, Madylin Sweeten, Sawyer Sweeten and Sullivan Sweeten; Charlie's Angels stars Cheryl Ladd, Jaclyn Smith and Glee cast members Jane Lynch, Dianna Agron, Jayma Mays, Jessalyn Gilsig and Kevin McHale are among the honorees at this year's 8th Annual TV Land Awards with more talent to be announced soon.
The entire cast of Everybody Loves Raymond will reunite for the first time since the death of fellow cast member Peter Boyle to receive the Impact Award at this year's show. Everybody Loves Raymond ran on CBS for nine successful seasons and joins the TV Land line-up this week (on Thursday, March 18). This year's Future Classic Award will be bestowed upon Fox's runaway hit, Glee. Previous future classic recipients include Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy and Arrested Development. Mel Brooks (Blazing Saddles) and Carl Reiner (The Dick Van Dyke Show, Ocean's Eleven) -- the Renaissance Men of Comedy who started out on Your Show of Shows -- will each receive the Legend Award. This marks the first time that this award will be given to two recipients. Stars of the 1970's TV phenomenon Charlie's Angels will be on hand to receive the Pop Culture Award and to pay tribute to their cast member Farrah Fawcett, who passed away of cancer in June 2009.
Now in its eighth year, the TV Land Awards pays tribute to classic and contemporary luminaries of television, music and movies. The ninety-minute telecast will feature exhilarating musical performances and will reunite some of the most iconic celebrity TV casts. The show premieres on Sunday, April 25 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT. Comcast onDemand's TubeTime Adds More Series, Removes Some; Comcast onDemand's TheWB Adds More; Scrubs Returns Tonight
Sticking with more Comcast onDemand news...a few weeks ago we told you that Comcast has added TheWB onDemand channel to its onDemand service. They launched with Warner Bros. owned series Martin, All of Us, Hangin' with Mr. Cooper and Jack & Bobby. More episodes of those shows are added each week, and this week they added three more series to the onDemand channel! Three dramas from this decade have been added: One Tree Hill, The O.C., and Veronica Mars. The first 5 or 6 episodes of those were added, while the existing series are now up to the first 8 episodes. So far they seem to be skewing with the newer series, with Mr. Cooper and Martin as their oldest series. Hopefully they add more sitcoms, and more from the past. Some shows hat would be perfect for this service would be Alice, Perfect Strangers, Hogan Family, Head of the Class, Welcome Back Kotter Gilligan's Island, and Chico and the Man. Just my thoughts. All of those are not seen anywhere nationally. Hopefully some of those will come soon. We'll let you know if we get further updates.
Just a reminder that Scrubs returns for an all-new season, its eighth season, tonight at 9pm with two back-to-back episodes...on ABC! I saw both episodes last month, and they were pretty funny, especially the first one...check out my comments. I was never big on this show but did watch a handful of episodes in the past.
Also premiering tonight leading into Scrubs at 8pm ET will be Homeland Security USA, a look at how the Homeland Security Division does its job. It is pretty interesting. I also saw that premiere a few weeks back and I think many will like it also...check out my comments.
Finally, I have to mention this because I'm from the town, but Primetime: What Would You Do? returns tonight at 10pm on ABC and will feature my town of Linden, NJ! I am so actually excited. What Would You Do? explores how people react when they witness blatant racial discrimination. In this scenario, Latino men and women attempt to place an order in broken English at All Aboard Bagel and Deli in downtown Linden, NJ. But their requests are met by extreme prejudice from the cashier. Hidden cameras capture how customers respond to the scenario. Find out what happens tonight at 10pm.

SOAPnet September Fall 2008 Schedule; Bernie Mac Tribute on Larry King Live TONIGHT; Slight Nick at Nite Change; Sony's Cross-Country Seinfeld Tour
As for other schedule changes...there isn't much. An extra One Tree Hill will be added on Saturday mornings at 7am, so it will air back-to-back from 7-9am on Saturdays now. And on Sundays two more back-to-back episodes will air from 10am-12pm replacing a Movie.
As for September stunts, on Labor Day, SOAPnet will have a 24-hour marathon of Beverly Hills 90210 titled "The BFF's of BH." The marathon starts Sunday, Aug. 31 at 11:59pm and runs until 11:59pm on Monday, Sept. 1! SOAPnet will air the ABC fall preview special a few times as well. The special focuses on ABC's Wednesday night dramas (Pushing Daisies, Private Practice, Dirty Sexy Money) and is titled ABC Wednesday Night Starter Kit. We will have more details on that special in our yearly Fall Previews Special post in the coming weeks. Airings on SOAPnet are Saturday, Sept. 13 at 4:30pm and Friday, September 26 at 5:00am.
Finally, SOAPnet will air all 10 first season episodes of the ABC drama Dirty Sexy Money on Saturday, September 27 from 9am-7pm. The marathon is just in time for the second season premiere on ABC on Wednesday, October 1 at 10pm ET/PT. This is a must see series as The Darlings family is today's version of The Carringtons or the Ewings...so if you have not seen an episode yet, this is your chance to catch up since it is only 10 episodes and get ready to watch season two on ABC!

The "Original Kings of Comedy" remember the late Bernie Mac tonight on Larry King Live at 9pm ET on CNN. D.L. Hughley, Cedric the Entertainer and Steve Harvey come together to pay tribute to the comedian only on Larry King Live. It will encore at 12 midnight ET, if you miss it.
Late yesterday afternoon Nick at Nite announced the Mon-Thurs 8:30pm slot would go back to Nickelodeon effective immediately. As a result, Family Matters will not air in that slot anymore, and the Nickelodeon sitcom Drake & Josh will air instead. Sorry we couldn't give you notice yesterday, but we did post it on our message boards. Family Matters is doing very well on Nick at Nite and will continue in its other time slots.
Today Sony Pictures Television (SPT) will set out on a 26-city, 10,000 mile "Seinfeld Campus Tour" in a 60-foot long Seinfeld branded, bio-diesel fueled bus experience designed to integrate the show directly into the digital, on-the-move, multi-tasking lifestyle of college students and members of the 70 million plus millennial demographic.

NBC, Fox, ABC, CW Notes, Includes '30 Rock' Renewal for 07-08 Season; Interview with Maureen 'Marcia Brady' McCormick
Sticking with NBC, we mentioned a few days ago that they would cut The Black Donnellys short and will remove starting on April 23, but after this week's bad ratings, NBC has pulled it effective immediately. A second hour of the new NBC improv series Thank God You're Here will air instead. April 16 is still TBD, but if Thank God does well, NBC is likely to air that again.
And Fox has also pulled a show they promised to air until after its April 20 airing. Friday drama The Wedding Bells will be pulled two weeks earlier than expected. The show will be replaced by encores of Bones starting April 20. A movie will air next Friday. This Friday will be the last for this short lived drama. Meanwhile, Fox will bring back Trading Spouses to Thursdays at 9 starting April 12. April 12 & 19 will be encores and the season finale will be a two-part episode on April 26 and May 3.
The CW is saying that 7th Heaven will have its series finale on Sunday, May 13 at 8 p.m. This looks like it actually will be the series finale as the ratings haven't been that good on Sundays. 7th Heaven aired Mondays at 8 for years prior to this season. Over 7 million tuned in to last year's finale, which was labeled a series finale until The CW made a last minute renewal.
The CW's mid-season drama Hidden Palms finally has a date, but it will launch in the summer. The CW has slotted it for Wednesday, May 30 at 8 p.m. One Tree Hill will follow at 9 p.m. and will be new for the first three weeks Palms airs. The CW is expected to air eight episodes of Palms. The show focuses on Johnny Miller, a teen who is struggling to come to terms with two tragedies in the strange and artificial atmosphere of Palm Springs. The show is produced by Kevin Williamson.
Finally, ABC has confirmed to us that the final two Thursdays of the season following all-new Grey's Anatomy episodes will be the return of Men in Trees. Trees has five episodes left, but ABC will only air two of them (May 10 and May 17 at 10), and hold the other three over for next season likely.

He just did an article/interview for TV Guide. He interviewed Marcia Brady herself--Maureen McCormick! Maureen will be featured in the new season of Celebrity Fit Club, premiering on VH-1 on Sunday, April 22. Maureen will also be reunited with her fellow Brady Bunch gang in the 5th TV Land Awards airing also on April 22 (tapes on April 14), accepting the Pop Culture Award.
