SitcomsOnline Digest: Pluto TV Adds More Channels Including Universal Action; CBS Renews Young and the Restless for Four More Years

Welcome to SitcomsOnline Digest! We are in a slow fall news week, but we have news about some new Pluto TV channels, a long-term renewal of one of the last broadcast network soap operas, and more. Let's get going!

  • The most recent additions don't do much for sitcom fans, but Pluto TV is growing with even more channels yet again (though they did add Universal Action earlier this week as well, featuring some of our favorite 80s action dramas). (Cord Cutters News)
  • The Young and the Restless has been renewed for four more seasons at CBS, keeping the nearly dead soap opera industry alive for at least a bit longer. (Variety)
  • Cable TV rarely has events that really grab viewers anymore, but Where is Wendy Williams? was a success for Lifetime. (Deadline)
  • Actor Richard Lewis has died at age 76. (AP News)

  • Catchy Comedy has a binge of Mama's Family this weekend, with a focus on the syndicated seasons.
  • Animal Control returns for a new season, while Family Guy moves to a new night (you may be getting deja vu from when the series originally got canceled after leaving Sunday nights), on Wednesday night on Fox.

Sam and Jay work to secure Woodstone B&B a coveted spot on a prestigious luxury hotel list, only to face unexpected chaos when a vengeful newly discovered bunker ghost disrupts a crucial visit. Meanwhile, Flower and Thor clash over who gets to call the shots in their relationship.

Animal Control - "Donkeys and Weasels" (Fox, 9:00PM ET/PT) (Repeat)
Frank's dad temporarily moves into Frank's house following a heart attack; Victoria and Patel try to find ways to replace pet food that was destroyed in a fire.

Going Dutch - "Twenty-Year Sitch" (Fox, 9:30PM ET/PT)
To celebrate Major Shah's 20 years of distinguished service in the U.S. Army, the Colonel plans a boy's camping trip; the nature retreat takes a turn when the Colonel learns Shah is considering retiring; General Davidson invites himself to join.
