The Ms. Pat Show Renewed for Season 6; SisterS Returns April 22 on AMC+, Acorn TV and IFC TV

BET and Paramount+ announced the sixth season renewal of its multi-Emmy(R)-nominated comedy The Ms. Pat Show starring Creator, Comedian, Actress and Executive Producer Patricia "Ms. Pat" Williams-Lee. The upcoming season will be among the first BET originals to stream on Paramount+, which becomes the new streaming home for BET content beginning in June, bringing the beloved series to a global platform with nearly 80 million subscribers. In conjunction with the hit series, Pat has headlined three seasons of her unscripted court show Ms. Pat Settles It, along with additional television and film projects across the Network.

Since its debut in August 2021, The Ms. Pat Show, co-created by Williams-Lee and Tony Award nominated Actor and Playwright Jordan E. Cooper, has earned critical acclaim and a devoted fanbase for its fearless, unfiltered storytelling. Inspired by Williams-Lee's life and her NAACP Image Award nominated memoir Rabbit: The Autobiography of Ms. Pat, the groundbreaking R-rated sitcom follows a former drug dealer and convicted felon turned suburban mom. The series showcases the matriarch navigating life with her outspoken, multi-generational African American family. Across five seasons, the series has boldly reimagined the traditional sitcom format, blending sharp comedy with cultural commentary while tackling complex topics including addiction, abortion, racism, sexual abuse, trans issues, immigration, generational trauma, non-binary pronouns, Black hair, school shootings and systemic inequities, all delivered with Ms. Pat's signature humor and unapologetic candor.

SisterS is back! A new season premieres Wednesday, April 22 on AMC+, Acorn TV and IFC TV (11pm ET / PT on IFC); Binge Release on Streaming with Episodes Wednesdays on IFC through May 27.

After being abandoned by her sister Sare (Sarah Goldberg, The Audacity, Barry) in Ireland, Suze (Susan Stanley) discovers unsettling news about her fertility. Meanwhile, in Toronto, Sare is planning her wedding, but hiding a secret health crisis. When an unexpected invitation to Sare's wedding prompts Suze to travel to Canada, a chaotic journey begins - filled with family secrets, unexpected revelations, and strained relationships. As Sare's wedding day approaches, Suze uncovers more about her sister's struggles, and both women are forced to confront their pasts and their futures.

Netflix Renews Nobody Wants This; Alicia Silverstone to Lead Acorn TV Series

Netflix announced that the breakout hit comedy series Nobody Wants This has been renewed for a second season, slated to premiere in 2025. Jenni Konner (Girls, Deli Boys, Welcome to Chippendales) and Bruce Eric Kaplan (Girls, No Good Deed, Six Feet Under) join Season 2 as Executive Producers and Showrunners. Nora Silver (Deli Boys, Welcome to Chippendales, Single Drunk Female) also joins as Executive Producer.

An agnostic podcast host and an unconventional rabbi on the rebound walk into a party. When they walk out - together - the unlikely pair, Joanne (Kristen Bell) and Noah (Adam Brody), can tell there is something between them. But also potentially between them, with their differing outlooks on life, all of the modern obstacles to love, and their sometimes well-meaning, sometimes sabotaging families - including her sister Morgan (Justine Lupe) and his brother Sasha (Timothy Simons).

AMC Networks' international streamer, Acorn TV, announced the greenlight and start of production on Irish Blood, which follows hot-shot Los Angeles divorce lawyer, Fiona Sharpe, who receives a letter from her estranged father and sets out to uncover the mystery of his disappearance. Award-winning actress Alicia Silverstone (Clueless, Bugonia) leads the cast and executive produces this layered, compelling drama from writers Aaron Martin, Christina Ray, Mike O'Leary and John Krizanc.

Irish Blood, a six-part murder mystery (6x60), focuses on Fiona (Silverstone), whose path in life is earmarked by her father, Declan, who seemingly abandoned her and her mother on her tenth birthday. After years of channelling anger toward him, to the benefit of her litigious clients, a message from her father sends her to Ireland. There she learns key truths about her father as well as a family that doesn't know she exists, and, moreover, that the story of abandonment that has shaped her entire life - was a lie. A lie intended to protect her and her mother from her father's shady business dealings. Fiona resolves to uncover the full truth about her father and reconnect with the parent she only thought she knew.

Joining Silverstone as series regulars are Wendy Crewson (We Were Liars, Tracker), Jason O'Mara (The Man In The High Castle, The Good Wife), Dearbhla Molloy (Wild Mountain Thyme, Rendezvous), Simone Kirby (His Dark Materials, Kneecap), Ruth Codd (The Fall of the House of Usher) and Leonardo Taiwo (Wheel of Time, Ant-Man & The Wasp).

South Park Extended to 2027 for Season 30; Xena Reunion on Acorn TV Series

MTV Entertainment Studios announced a new and expansive deal with co-creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone which includes extending South Park on Comedy Central through 2027 and taking cable's longest-running scripted series - 2022 marks the franchise's 25th - through an unprecedented 30th season. In addition, 14 South Park original made-for-streaming movies will premiere on Paramount+, including two for 2021. South Park continues to keep its place in the cultural zeitgeist with this year's South ParQ Vaccination Special which ranks as the #1 cable telecast of the year with nearly 3.5M total viewers across the night and The Pandemic Special, which reigns as cable's #1 scripted telecast of 2020. In addition, South Park received its 19th Emmy nomination with a nod for The Pandemic Special in the Outstanding Animated Program category. The series has earned five Emmy Awards to date and a George Foster Peabody Award.

Acorn TV's My Life is Murder is reuniting Lucy Lawless with her former castmate from the iconic Xena: Warrior Princess series, Renee O'Connor, in season two, which premieres on AMC Networks' acclaimed streaming service Acorn TV on Monday, August 30. In an upcoming episode of the hit New Zealand mystery series, Alexa (Lawless) investigates the death of a self-help guru and finds herself in a cat-and-mouse game with the victim's mysterious wife (O'Connor). Season two will reunite Lucy with several former castmates from her most iconic series, including Anna Hutchison (Spartacus), Graham Vincent (Spartacus), Jay Ryan (Beauty and The Beast, It Chapter Two, Mary Kills People) and Bruce Hopkins (Lord of the Rings, Xena: Warrior Princess), as well as an array of previously announced guest stars including William Shatner (Star Trek, Haven), Martin Henderson (Grey's Anatomy, Virgin River), Michelle Ang (Fear The Walking Dead, Triple 9), Sara Wiseman (A Place to Call Home, Rake), Bill Bailey (Black Books, Ralph Spaced), Matt Whelan (Narcos: Mexico, The Sounds) and popular drag performers Kita Mean and Amanduh La Whore.

Billboard Music Awards Postponed on NBC; Acorn TV Extends Free 30-Day Trial

dick clark productions and NBC announced that the 2020 Billboard Music Awards - scheduled to air live on NBC from Las Vegas on Wednesday, April 29th - is postponed and will be rescheduled to air on NBC at a later date. In a statement the two companies said, "In accordance with the current guidelines set forth by national and local health officials and in order to ensure the health and safety of our artists, fans, guests and staff - we are postponing the Billboard Music Awards. For more than two decades, the Billboard Music Awards has honored the best in music based on the Billboard charts, and we look forward to celebrating the incredible artists who topped those charts over the last year. dcp and NBC will announce a new date and venue for the show in the near future."
