NBC Schedules Peyton Manning Game Show; Apple TV+ Comedy Mythic Quest Returns in May

NBC is set to reignite some of the nation’s greatest college and university rivalries in the ultimate battle of brains in the new summer series Capital One College Bowl, premiering after the conclusion of this season's New Amsterdam, and airing after AGT starting on Tuesday, June 22 at 10 p.m. ET/PT through September 7 (preempted during Olympics). It will also encore on select Sundays at 7:00 p.m. ET/PT. Hosted by Peyton Manning, with his brother Cooper Manning serving as sidekick, the series challenges college students out of the classroom and puts their knowledge to the test as they compete for academic scholarships. From Universal Television Alternative Studio, a division of Universal Studio Group, and Village Roadshow Television, the series is a reboot of the classic Emmy and Peabody Award-winning College Bowl that previously aired on NBC in the U.S., and for decades has been part of campus life at colleges and universities around the world.
In each episode of Capital One College Bowl, teams of three representing some of the nation’s top schools will battle it out in a bracketed tournament over four rounds. Teams must work together to answer questions on a wide variety of subjects. The top two schools advance to the final where they compete head-to-head for the Capital One College Bowl trophy and a scholarship to put toward their education. Participating schools include University of Alabama, Auburn University, Columbia University, University of Michigan, University of Minnesota, Ole Miss, Morehouse College, University of Tennessee, University of Southern California, UCLA, University of Virginia and Xavier of Louisiana.
Apple TV+ released the global trailer for the sophomore season of Mythic Quest, the critically hailed Apple Original workplace comedy series from creators Rob McElhenney, Charlie Day and Megan Ganz. The first two episodes of the nine-episode second season will premiere globally on Friday, May 7 exclusively on Apple TV+, with new episodes premiering weekly, every Friday thereafter. The new trailer is unveiled ahead of the premiere of "Everlight," a special standalone episode from season one of Mythic Quest that will make its global debut this Friday, April 16 on Apple TV+. The award-winning ensemble cast of Mythic Quest is set to return for season two, and will be joined by new guest stars including multi-platinum artist Snoop Dogg, Drunk History creator, comedian, actor Derek Waters, and more.
Mythic Quest follows the team behind the biggest multiplayer video game of all time. Season two finds everyone back in the office (well, almost everyone), attempting to build upon the success of Raven's Banquet by launching an epic new expansion, but Ian (Rob McElhenney) and the newly promoted co-creative director, Poppy (Charlotte Nicdao), struggle with the game's direction. Meanwhile, C.W. (Academy Award-winner F. Murray Abraham) reconciles some unresolved issues from his past, the testers (Ashly Burch and Imani Hakim) test the bounds of an office romance, and David (David Hornsby) loses yet another woman in his life as Jo (Jessie Ennis) leaves him to assist Brad (Danny Pudi). The second season will also feature ensemble cast members Naomi Ekperigin, Caitlin McGee, Humphrey Ker, Chris Naoki Lee and Jonathan Wiggs.
