Welcome to SitcomsOnline Digest! We are in yet another slow news week, but we're hearing of the death of a man who shaped TV in the 70s and early 80s, a reboot that won't be going forward, and a few renewals. Let's get going!

  • Fred Silverman, the man who effectively shaped all three broadcast television networks in the 70s and 80s and is in some way had some role in giving the green light to much of what we call the "classic TV" of this era, has died at age 82. (New York Times)
