Search Party Moving to HBO Max for Seasons 3 and 4; Disney Gets More Gabby Duran & the Unsittables

HBO Max announced that two more seasons of the critically beloved comedy Search Party will be coming to the streamer set to launch in Spring of 2020. The first two seasons aired on TBS from 2016-2017. The dark comedy about a group of privileged, self-absorbed twenty-somethings covering up a murder starring Alia Shawkat, Meredith Hagner, Brandon Micheal Hall, John Early and John Reynolds has repeatedly been hailed as one of television's best shows by publications including The New Yorker, New York Times, Vanity Fair, Vogue, GQ, NPR, and more. Season three finds the gang swept up in the trial of the century after Dory and Drew are charged for the semi-accidental murder of a private investigator. As Elliott and Portia grapple with whether or not to testify as witnesses, the friends are pitted against each other and thrust into the national spotlight as notorious public figures. As Dory’s sanity begins to fracture, it becomes increasingly clear that they may not have brunch together for quite some time.
Disney Channel has ordered a second season of the interstellar family comedy Gabby Duran & the Unsittables ahead of the series' launch date on Friday (October 11 from 9:00-9:30 p.m. EDT/PDT), on Disney Channel and DisneyNOW. The single-camera series stars actress and musician Kylie Cantrall as Gabby Duran, a courageous 13-year-old girl who inadvertently lands a job babysitting an unruly group of VIP extraterrestrial children who are hiding out on Earth disguised as everyday kids. Production on season two will begin in February 2020 in Vancouver. Starring alongside Cantrall is Maxwell Acee Donovan (Good Kids) as Gabby's bestie and conspiracy theorist, Wesley; Coco Christo (We Take the Low Road) as Gabby's overachieving little sis, Olivia; Nathan Lovejoy (The Code) as the wacky Principal Swift; Valery Ortiz (Switched at Birth) as Gabby's caring and career-driven mom, Dina; and Callan Farris (Kings) as Jeremy, a shape-shifting alien and Gabby's first babysitting assignment.
