Fresh off the Boat Launches Sept. 1 on UPtv; New Sabrina Begins Oct. 26 on Netflix
A few weeks ago we told you Fresh off the Boat is coming soon to UPtv and Freeform, but now we have details on UPtv's launch this fall. UPtv brings you Fresh Off The Boat, starting Labor Day weekend, a hilarious series set in the '90s that follows the lives of parents, Louis and Jessica Huang, and their family of three boys. With humor and heart, the Huang family creates memories as they make the move from Washington D.C.'s Chinatown to Orlando, start a restaurant business, and experience life’s milestones along the way. UPtv will launch Fresh off the Boat with a "Boatload of Fresh" Labor Day weekend marathon, on Saturday, September 1, and Sunday, Sept. 2, from 7am–3pm ET and Labor Day itself, Monday, September 3 in primetime from 7–11 pm ET. Fresh Off the Boat will then air regularly on Wednesdays in primetime from 8-11 pm ET and Saturdays in primetime from 7-11 pm ET, joining the network's other family-friendly syndicated series, including: Home Improvement, 7th Heaven, Gilmore Girls, AFV and Whose Line Is It Anyway?
Netflix released the first two official photos from the highly anticipated new series Chilling Adventures of Sabrina written by Riverdale showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa. Premiering October 26, the series imagines the origin and adventures of Sabrina the Teenage Witch as a dark coming-of-age story that traffics in horror, the occult and, of course, witchcraft. Tonally in the vein of Rosemary's Baby and The Exorcist, this adaptation finds Sabrina wrestling to reconcile her dual nature — half-witch, half-mortal — while standing against the evil forces that threaten her, her family and the daylight world humans inhabit.
Cast includes: Kiernan Shipka, Miranda Otto, Lucy Davis, Ross Lynch, Michelle Gomez, Chance Perdomo, Jaz Sinclair, Richard Coyle, Tati Gabrielle, Adeline Rudolph, Abigail Cowen, Lachlan Watson, Bronson Pinchot and Gavin Leatherwood. Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, who also serves as chief creative officer of Archie Comics, is an executive producer alongside Riverdale collaborators Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Archie Comics CEO Jon Goldwater and Lee Toland Krieger. The drama hails from Warner Bros. Television-based Berlanti Productions.
