SitcomsOnline Digest: NBC Plans Next Live Musical; Step by Step Finally Coming to DVD

- NBC has chosen their next live musical, and it will be Hair. (Hollywood Reporter)
- ABC is shaking up their daytime lineup by cancelling The Chew and giving Good Morning America an extra hour. (Hollywood Reporter)
- ABC's The Middle came to an end this week, and the co-creator is reflecting back on the past nine seasons. (Deadline)
- In what is probably a surprise to nobody, Fox has cancelled LA to Vegas. (Deadline)
- FX has renewed Baskets for a fourth season. (Variety)
- In perhaps another sign that physical media is in decline (we still love it around here), TVShowsOnDVD.com has officially closed this week, although the site has some yet-to-be-revealed plans to continue a presence on Facebook and Twitter. (The Digital Bits)
- As always, MeTV is bringing back their Summer of Me lineup, and The Jeffersons and Charlie's Angels will be part of that lineup this year. (SitcomsOnline)

- We've already had one big story that has likely been missed by many due to the demise of TVShowsOnDVD.com, and that is Warner Archive will be releasing Step by Step - The Complete First Season on June 12.

- Different Strokes - The Complete Final Season (DVD, $22.97): Oddly enough, with the demise of TVShowsOnDVD.com being this past week, one of our favorite sitcoms around here will be wrapping up on DVD this week.
WEEKLY PLANNER (MAY 26 - JUNE 1)
- SundanceTV is celebrating the Memorial Day weekend with a marathon of M*A*S*H that doesn't end until Monday night.
- The Streets of San Francisco is this weekend's binge on Decades.
- MeTV begins a new lineup on Monday, which will feature new additions The Jeffersons and Charlie's Angels.
- Nash Bridges is coming to H&I, and it all begins with a 14 hour marathon on Monday.
- Arrested Development returns for a fifth season on Netflix on Thursday.
- Also on Netflix this week, on Friday, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt returns for a fourth season.

Graduation day is approaching and everyone, especially Adam, is ready – except for Beverly who is not coping well with the idea of an empty nest. Meanwhile, with Geoff’s encouragement, Erica decides to try out for Cyndi Lauper as a one-time backup singer replacement. Ultimately, resurrecting her singing dreams doesn’t manifest, but bigger and exciting new beginnings await her and the Goldbergs.
The Wonder Years - "Love, Dean" (ABC, 8:30PM ET/PT)
It’s the end of the school year, and summer excitement is all around. When Bill and Lillian each receive major career opportunities, tension builds as they decide who will handle more of the household responsibilities. Meanwhile, Dean and Keisa take shelter together as a tornado tears through Montgomery, providing the perfect moment for Dean to tell her how he really feels.
The Conners - "A Judge and a Priest Walk Into a Living Room..." (ABC, 9:00PM ET/PT)
The Conners gear up for a megawedding! Jackie and Neville, Darlene and Ben, and Harris and Aldo are planning for a shared big day, but along the way they discover that some of the couples may not be on the same page about their happily ever afters. Meanwhile, Dan and the family have decked out the house for the occasion, but will all six of the lovebirds make it to “I do”?

Tom attempts to keep Connor grounded after he announces his plans to go to space then falls into a rough patch himself after learning some bad news. Meanwhile, Marina gets stuck while trying to transform their attic into a writing space for Tom.

When Christian wins Student of the Year, Laura gets him an autographed football jersey from a popular NFL player; Miranda takes umbrage with the gesture, citing the player's history of domestic violence.
