TCA 2017 Winter Press Tour: FX; Sitcom Stars on Talk Shows (Week of January 16, 2017)

FX

FX was up yesterday for Fox's second day of the TCA 2017 Winter Press Tour. FX Networks has set the premiere dates for Ryan Murphy's highly anticipated, star-studded limited series FEUD: Bette and Joan, the new season of the critically-acclaimed and award-winning drama series The Americans, and the eighth season of the Emmy(R) Award Winning animated comedy series Archer. First up, FEUD: Bette and Joan, the first installment of the new limited series from Emmy(R) and Golden Globe(R) award-winning Executive Producer Ryan Murphy, will premiere on Sunday, March 5 at 10 PM ET/PT on FX. FEUD: Bette and Joan, the first installment of the new FX anthology series from Ryan Murphy, tells the story of the legendary rivalry between Joan Crawford (Jessica Lange) and Bette Davis (Susan Sarandon) during their collaboration on the Academy Award(R)-nominated thriller What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?, and well after the cameras stopped rolling. The series explores how the two women endured ageism, sexism, and misogyny while struggling to hang on to success and fame in the twilight of their careers. The Americans will return for its fifth season on a new night, moving to Tuesdays starting on March 7 at 10 PM ET/PT. Archer moves to FXX for its eighth season on Wednesdays, starting April 5 at 10 PM ET/PT.

FX Networks has extended its order of American Horror Story for two additional installments, adding an 8th and 9th year to the previously announced seventh installment. The Emmy(R), Golden Globe(R) and AFI Award(R) winning series from co-creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk will return to FX in 2017 for the seventh installment. And finally, FX Productions (FXP) has signed Atlanta creator and Golden Globe(R) Award winner Donald Glover to an exclusive overall television production deal. Under the overall deal, Glover will develop television series for FX Networks and other networks and streaming services, in addition to continuing to executive produce, write, direct and star in Atlanta.
