TV Land Picks Up 4th Season of The Exes; TBS Orders Marlon Wayans Hosted Series
TV Land has picked up its hit original series The Exes for a 12-episode fourth season. The series stars critically-acclaimed actors, Donald Faison (Scrubs), Wayne Knight (Seinfeld), David Alan Basche (The Starter Wife), Kelly Stables (Two and a Half Men) and Kristen Johnston (3rd Rock From The Sun), with Leah Remini (The King of Queens) featured in several of the episodes in season three. The show currently airs on TV Land every Wednesday at 10pm ET/PT with the season finale scheduled for February 26. Season four will debut this summer. Stay with us for continued updates and a premiere date.
The Exes revolves around the unlikely trio of Phil (Faison), Haskell (Knight) and Stuart (Basche), three roommates and divorcés who have finally found bromance after initially being forced to live together by their divorce attorney and landlord, Holly (Johnston). Most recently, Leah Remini joined the sitcom in a recurring role, appearing in seven of the 10 episodes this season as Nicki, a tough talking, no-nonsense woman from Staten Island. After discovering that her husband had an affair, she retreats to Manhattan, seeking comfort from her brother Stuart and integrating herself into the lives of his friends.
TBS is teaming up with comedy heavyweight and WhatTheFunny.com founder Marlon Wayans (Scary Movie, In Living Color, The Wayans Bros.) on a new competition series that's all about the laughs. The network has greenlit Funniest Wins (working title), in which Wayans, along with some of his comedian friends and family members, will set out to find the funniest multi-talented comedian out there today. Funniest Wins joins TBS's popular lineup of comedic competition series, including King of the Nerds, which is currently in its second season on Thursday nights, and Deal With It, which returns for a new season on March 19. TBS has ordered eight one-hour episodes of Funniest Wins, with plans to launch the series this summer. Funniest Wins is being produced for TBS by Workaholic/Marlon and Eyeworks USA. Serving as executive producers are Marlon Wayans (A Haunted House, A Haunted House 2), Rick Alvarez (A Haunted House, White Chicks) and Lisa Blum (Scary Movie, Legit) for Workaholic/Marlon, and JD Roth, Todd A. Nelson, Brant Pinvidic and Adam Kaloustian for Eyeworks USA (Extreme Weight Loss, Bar Rescue). Steve Harris (The Jacksons, Mob Wives) serves as producer.
