The Exes Premieres Nov. 30 on TV Land, Hot in Cleveland Hits Season High; Sitcom Stars on Talk Shows (Week of July 25, 2011)

TV Land announced that production starts this week on the network's new original sitcom, The Exes (working title). The series, which is written by Mark Reisman (Frasier), will debut on TV Land on Wednesday, November 30 at 10:30 pm ET/PT immediately following the season three premiere of Hot in Cleveland. The series was originally slated to begin in winter 2012, but will now begin in late fall! The program stars critically-acclaimed actors Donald Faison (Scrubs), Wayne Knight (Seinfeld, Hot in Cleveland), David Alan Basche (The Starter Wife), Kelly Stables (Romantically Challenged) and Emmy® Award-winner Kristen Johnston (3rd Rock From The Sun).
In TV Land's latest sitcom, divorce attorney Holly (Johnston) introduces her newly-single client Stuart (Basche) to his new roommates – ladies' man Phil (Faison) and homebody Haskell (Knight), who share an apartment which Holly owns. Things start off a little shaky when the two bachelors have reservations about living with clingy Stuart, but Holly is right across the hall to help them avoid any catastrophes. To top it all off, Holly's assistant, Eden (Stables), doesn't exactly let her professionalism get in the way of prying into her boss' personal life.
The addition of The Exes to TV Land's original sitcom roster takes the network to a total of four scripted comedy series with several more in development. The network recently announced that it has picked up Fran Drescher's Happily Divorced for a second season with 12 new episodes slated to air in Spring 2012. TV Land's other hit sitcoms, Hot in Cleveland and Retired at 35 (latter returns in early 2012), have also been picked up for new seasons.

Meanwhile, TV Land's audience continues to grow as last night's all-new episode of Hot in Cleveland guest starring Doris Roberts (who got punched by Betty White's Elka character) scored a season high with total viewers. On the heels of two Emmy® nominations, including Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for Betty White, Hot in Cleveland averaged 2.44 million total viewers at 10 PM ET/PT, up 22% over the prior week, according to Nielsen. Additionally, the series scored a 1.0 rating with A25-54, also up 22% versus the prior week and it posted a 1.5 rating with Women 25-54, up 31% from last week. Among Adults 18-49, it posted a 0.6 rating. TV Land recently renewed Hot in Cleveland for a third season with a 24-episode order, which we learned today will start airing on Wednesday, November 30, 2011.
