Week 28 (March 28-April 3) Analysis: Week 28 saw a good series debut for Body of Proof out of a new Dancing with the Stars for ABC on Tuesday helping them through the first four nights. We don't have final network averages for the first four nights again but we can project Fox is winning across the board. ABC is in second and CBS is in third, but with NCAA coverage on Saturday being big, they could overtake ABC. NBC is way back in fourth across the board. Fox should win the week but CBS could catch up due to the good performances for the NCAA tournament on Saturday. Last week, week 27, had CBS win the week in HH/viewers but Fox edged out the NCAA push by CBS for first in 18-49. CBS was second in 18-49 while Fox was second in HH/viewers. ABC was in third everywhere. And NBC was in fourth place.

Monday saw ABC clean up again. ABC started with a new Dancing with the Stars doing 22.77 million and a 5.2 18-49 rating, on par with previous week's season premiere. Amazing. At 10pm ABC aired Castle and it did another season high doing 12.56 million and a 3.2 18-49 rating, up some from previous week. CBS was almost all in repeats with its comedies and Hawaii Five-0. At 8pm, a repeat of How I Met Your Mother started it off with a below average 5.54 million and a 1.9 18-49 rating. At 8:30, Mad Love was new and also did 5.54 million and a 2.1 18-49 rating, down some from previous week. Two and a Half Men followed with what else, a repeat, doing 7.79 million and a 2.3 18-49 rating, which is down from previous week and its lowest showing since the all repeats started. At 9:30, Mike & Molly was also a repeat and did 7.0 million and a 1.9 18-49 rating, which is below its usual repeat ratings. Charlie Sheen has screwed up this line-up. Winning for him. A repeat of Hawaii Five-0 at 10pm did 5.95 million and a 1.6 18-49 rating, which is OK for a repeat. Fox was in repeats with House doing 4.9 million and a 1.9 18-49 rating. The first repeat of Chicago Code followed at 9pm with 3.95 million and a 1.1 18-49 rating, almost beating a new NBC. NBC started with Chuck being preempted for a special called All Together Now: A Celebration of Service doing 4.21 million and only a 0.9 18-49 rating. The Event was next and did just 4.53 million and tied its series low again of a 1.2 18-49 rating. At 10pm, a new Harry's Law did 8.54 million but just a 1.6 18-49 rating again. The CW was in repeats with 90210 doing only 660,000 viewers and a 0.3 18-49 rating, which was on par with previous week. Gossip Girl followed and was even worse with a repeat doing 520,000 viewers and a non-existent 0.2 18-49 rating, on par week-to-week.

Tuesday had ABC edge out CBS for the win! But first, CBS started with a new NCIS and did 18.73 million and a 3.9 18-49 rating which is down in viewers but up a tenth from previous week. NCIS: Los Angeles followed with a new episode and did 15.34 million and a 3.5 18-49 rating, which was also down in viewers but up some in 18-49 from previous week. The Good Wife was new and did 10.16 million but only a 1.9 18-49 rating, for series lows. The only CBS drama that critics like, is doing not so good in the ratings. For ABC, No Ordinary Family was preempted in the 8pm hour for a recap of the first two weeks of Dancing with the Stars called The Story So Far and did an amazing 12.85 million and a 2.8 18-49 rating. At 9, Dancing with the Stars: The Results premiered and did great with 19.3 million and a 4.3 18-49 rating. Both in first place. At 10pm, the series premiere of Body of Proof did very well and won its hour with 13.94 million and a solid 3.1 18-49 rating. If it drops even 20% this week, it will win its time period still. Fox started off with a repeat of Glee and did 4.37 million and a 1.4 18-49, which is down from previous week. Next Fox aired a repeat of comedy, Raising Hope and did only 3.45 million and a 1.3 18-49 rating, down some week-to-week. New comedy Traffic Light was next but was NEW and did only 2.51 million and a 1.1 18-49 rating only, but on par really with previous week. NBC aired a two-hour The Biggest Loser doing 7.34 million and a 2.7 18-49 rating, which was down some from previous week. Then at 10pm, Parenthood was new and did 4.89 million and and tied for second with a 1.9 18-49 rating. The CW was in repeats with One Tree Hill doing 740,000 viewers and a 0.3 18-49 rating, on par week-to-week. Next at 9pm was a repeat of Hellcats and that did 680,000 viewers and a 0.3 18-49 rating, also on par with previous week's repeat.

Wednesday had a different leader, this time it was Fox thanks to a two-hour American Idol carrying it. Idol did 24.18 million and a 7.7 18-49 rating, down some from previous week in 18-49. CBS started the night off with Survivor: Redemption Island doing 11.01 million and a 3.1 18-49 rating, which was on par with previous week. Veteran drama Criminal Minds was next with a new episode doing 13.05 million and a 3.51 18-49 rating. At 10pm, a new Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior did 9.53 million and a 2.3 18-49 rating, up a tenth from previous week when its lead-in was a repeat. ABC had its Laugh On comedy block and had a repeat of The Middle open the night with 4.77 million and a 1.4 18-49 rating. Then at 8:30, Better With You was preempted again for another repeat of The Middle doing 4.89 million and a 1.5 18-49 rating, down some week-to-week. Then ABC aired a repeat of Modern Family at 9pm doing 5.46 million and a 2.1 18-49 rating. Then at 9:30, Mr. Sunshine was new with 4.02 million and a 1.4 18-49 rating, obviously down from previous week as its lead-in was a repeat this week. As I keep saying, Cougar Town will return with a special airing on Monday, April 18, and then return to Wednesdays starting April 20. Let the countdown begin for the cul-de-sac crew! At 10pm, a new episode of new drama Off the Map aired and did 4.23 million and a 1.3 18-49 rating, down some from previous week. Season finale is this week. NBC aired a new Minute to Win It and did 4.19 million and a 1.2 18-49 rating, which was on par with previous week. Then a repeat of Law & Order: SVU did 3.63 million and a 1.1 18-49 rating, while a new episode at 10pm did 8.54 million and a 2.5 18-49 rating, winning its hour but down a tenth from previous week. The CW had a new America's Next Top Model starting it off at 8pm doing 2.18 million and a 0.9 18-49 rating, which was down some from previous week. This show is getting killed by Fox and CBS' reality series, so it will move to 9pm on April 20. At 9pm, new reality series Shedding for the Wedding did only 926,000 viewers and a 0.4 18-49 rating, on par with previous week again.

Thursday saw Fox win the night for the second night in a row, as Idol aired. But first, ABC opened the night with a new episode of the spring edition of Wipeout doing a solid 6.38 million and a 1.9 18-49 rating, but down from previous week as it was preempted in 2% of the country for some reason. Then Grey's Anatomy was all-new at 9pm with a special "musical event" doing 13.09 million and a 4.9 18-49 rating, sharply up from previous week and its best showing since the season premiere in September. A new Private Practice at 10 closed the night with 7.35 million and a 2.7 18-49 rating, up a tenth from previous week. CBS returned with its regular line-up as The Big Bang Theory at 8pm did a solid 11.92 million and a 3.7 18-49 rating. Rules of Engagement was next but below normal with 8.25 million and a 2.5 18-49 rating. At 9, CSI did 12.76 million and a 2.9 18-49 rating and at 10pm The Mentalist was new too and jumped to 14.27 million but dropped to a 2.8 18-49 rating. Onto Fox, it was all American Idol as an one-hour airing did 22.63 million and a 6.8 18-49 rating, up some from previous week. Fox preempted Bones at 9pm for a special called Mobbed doing a decent 10.82 million and a 3.8 18-49 rating. Seems better than the usual Bones. NBC comedies were almost in all repeats. Community started it off with a repeat doing only 2.19 million and a 0.9 18-49 rating. Then the canceled Perfect Couples was new and did only 2.05 million and a 1.0 18-49 rating. Just one more pathetic airing left. The Office was a repeat and did 3.23 million and a 1.5 18-49 rating, which is the best of this low rated block this week. Parks and Recreation was next with a repeat doing 2.35 million and a 1.1 18-49 rating. 30 Rock followed at 10 with a repeat episode doing just 2.14 million and a 1.0 18-49 rating. And the likely doomed Outsourced was preempted for a repeat of The Office doing 2.14 million and a 1.0 18-49 rating. These comedies do not have any repeat value, which makes me think 30 Rock will bomb in syndication this coming fall. The CW was next with a repeat of Vampire Diaries doing 1.16 million and a 0.4 18-49 rating, on par with previous week. Then a repeat of Nikita did 1.2 million and a 0.3 18-49 rating, down some week-to-week.

Now, final numbers for Friday and Saturday are not available as usual, but Friday had CBS edge ABC for a low rated win. Chaos premiered on CBS at 8pm to low ratings, losing to Shark Tank and a two-hour 20/20 did well for ABC. Fringe was a repeat. Saturday had CBS easily win with NCAA coverage doing a big number, best since 2005.

Tonight ABC is all-new with AFV, Secret Millionaire, Desperate Housewives and a special airing of Body of Proof which airings its second episode. NBC has a new episode of dead on arrival America's Next Great Restaurant & another two-hour Celebrity Apprentice, all starting at 8 following Dateline at 7. CBS has a new 60 Minutes, followed by The Academy of Country Music Awards from 8-11pm preempting The Amazing Race at 8 and Undercover Boss & CSI: Miami from 9-11pm. Fox is somewhat all-new with Animation Domination starting at 8pm, but only at 7:30 & 9:30pm.

As for the week (week 28), Fox will likely win the week but CBS and ABC will not be far behind. In fact, CBS could take the week in 18-49, thanks to the NCAA on Saturday. NBC is the only certain one at fourth place. And for the coming week (week 29), has the NCAA Finals tomorrow on CBS and the premiere of new comedy Breaking In on Fox on Wednesday. Last Sunday Sitcoms (counts for week 27 -- March 21-27)

• American Dad! (Fox) - A repeat did 3.82 million and a 1.7 18-49 rating at 7:30pm, which was up from previous week. An all-new episode at a special time of 9:30pm did 4.99 million and a 2.5 18-49 rating, which is OK.
  
• The Simpsons (Fox) 2 episodes - A new showing in its normal 8pm slot did 6.05 million and a 2.8 18-49 rating, which seems below normal. Earlier, a repeat at 7pm did 3.4 million and a 1.5 18-49 rating, up a good amount from previous week.
• Bob's Burgers (Fox) - A new episode did 4.65 million and a 2.2 18-49 rating, on par really with previous week, even when the lead-in was new this week.
• Family Guy (Fox) - A repeat did 5.52 million and a 2.7 18-49 rating, which is great for a repeat.
• The Cleveland Show (Fox) - preempted.

Monday Sitcoms

• How I Met Your Mother (CBS) - A repeat did 5.54 million and a 1.9 18-49 rating, below normal.
• Mad Love (CBS) - 5.54 million for a new episode and a 2.1 18-49 rating is nothing to write home about and expected to do better in the historically good sitcom block.
• Two and a Half Men (CBS) - 7.79 million for a repeat and a 2.3 18-49 rating, down week-to-week. How many times can these episodes air? It's already repeating so many times in syndication and on FX.
  
• Mike & Molly (CBS) - 7.0 million for a repeat and a 18-49 rating of 1.9 is decent for a repeat, but below normal for this show.

Tuesday Sitcoms

• Raising Hope (Fox) - A repeat did 3.45 million and a 1.3 18-49 rating, down from previous week's repeat.
• Traffic Light (Fox) - A new episode following repeats did only 2.51 million and a 1.1 18-49 rating, on par basically from previous week. Previous week was new, too, but I mentioned it was a repeat. I apologize for the error.
  

• The Middle (ABC) 2 airings - A repeat of this sitcom did 4.77 million and a 1.4 18-49 rating. Then a repeat at a special time of 8:30pm did 4.89 million and a 1.5 18-49 rating... building from the first half-hour.
• Better with You (ABC) - preempted, returns April 13.
• Modern Family (ABC) - A repeat did 5.46 million and a 2.1 18-49 rating.
• Mr. Sunshine (ABC) - A new episode did 4.02 million and a 1.4 18-49 rating, its lowest ratings yet but the lead-in hasn't been new much since start of March.

Thursday Sitcoms

• The Big Bang Theory (CBS) - A new episode did a good 11.92 million and a 3.7 18-49 rating.
• Rules of Engagement (CBS) - A new episode did 8.25 million and a 2.4 18-49 rating. This show is affected more by Idol than $#*! My Dad Says.
• Community (NBC) - A repeat did only 2.19 million and 0.9 18-49 rating.
• Perfect Couples (NBC) - A new episode did only 2.05 million and a 1.0 18-49 rating. Just one more week left.
• The Office (NBC) - A repeat did 3.23 million and a 1.5 18-49 rating, the best of the NBC block. A repeat at a special time of 10:30pm did only 2.14 million and a 1.0 18-49 rating, holding all of its 10pm lead-in though.
  
• Parks and Recreation (NBC) - A repeat did 2.35 million and a 1.1 18-49 rating.
• 30 Rock (NBC) - A repeat at 10pm did just 2.14 million and a 1.0 18-49 rating.

Airing tonight (Sunday) are Fox's animated comedies from 7-10pm, with new episodes only at 7:30 & 9:30pm.

Summing it up. The Big Bang Theory, Modern Family (R), Two and a Half Men (R) were impressive for the week. Everything else was OK (such as Mad Love, Rules of Engagement) or just plain old terrible (such as Perfect Couples, Traffic Light).
