WGA Nominations Announced; Arrested Development to Showtime or ABC?; Nick@Nite January Sneak Peek
Could Arrested Development be moving to Showtime or ABC next season? It is quite possible if Fox does "officially" cancel the series. It seems Fox doesn't want to pay the hefty $1.6 million an episode price anymore. The show has never been a ratings hit, so maybe if it moves to another network it could garner higher ratings, just like JAG did when it moved from NBC to CBS some years back. You can discuss your thoughts here.
Nick@Nite finally announced its January line-up today! There will not be many changes though. The Saturday line-up will now be the same as the Friday line-up, so no more Fresh Prince all night on Saturdays. And the Sunday line-up will be the same as the Mon-Thurs line-up, so no more Roseanne all night on Sundays. Ratings was not the issue, as both blocks did well but they can't keep airing those shows all night long for too long. That was a nice two month stunt by Nick@Nite. The only other change will be Mon-Thu 2 a.m. will now be Roseanne instead of Three's Company. That is good because Three's Company was being wasted at 2 a.m. The show is already low on contract airplays, so why waste an airing at 2 a.m.? I think it should rest until it is ready to come back strong and help TV Land again.
And again we leave you tonight with a reminder to make your top 10 episode selections for Perfect Stranger's upcoming DVD set. And as Balki would say during the holiday season, "On Reagan, on Nixon" -- let's keep the selections going! The deadline is 3 p.m. ET/12 noon PT on Friday, so hurry! Click here to get there.
