Swedish Dicks, a new scripted procedural comedy from Lionsgate and MTG about a mismatched pair of L.A.-based detectives, premieres on Pop on Wednesday, August 2 at 8:00 PM, ET/PT. Starring Peter Stormare (John Wick: Chapter 2, Fargo, American Gods) and actor/comedian Johan Glans (Best Male Comedian, Swedish Comedy Awards) with special recurring guest star Keanu Reeves (John Wick, The Matrix), Swedish Dicks is a half-hour single camera comedy about an aging ex-stuntman (Stormare) stuck in the past and an overly optimistic Swedish DJ (Glans) stuck in the digital world. Together they get unstuck by forming the private detective firm Swedish Dicks, solving some of the strangest and wildest cases L.A. has ever seen. The 10-episode first season features an array of guest stars, including Traci Lords (Cry-Baby, Melrose Place), Margaret Cho (Fashion Police, Drop Dead Diva), Anthony LaPaglia (Without a Trace, Frasier) and Eric Roberts (The Dark Knight, Suits).

Starz announced the highly-anticipated Season Four return of critically-acclaimed STARZ Original comedy series Survivor's Remorse on Sunday, August 20th at 10PM ET/PT. The upcoming season of Survivor's Remorse executive produced by Tom Werner, Maverick Carter, LeBron James, Mike O'Malley, Paul Wachter and Victor Levin will include ten half-hour episodes and include guest stars: Isaiah Washington, Vanessa Bell Calloway, Neal McDonough and DJ Khaled to name a few. In Season Four of the Mike O'Malley-created comedy series, Cam Calloway thought he'd finally reached the top when he signed his massive contract to play basketball in Atlanta. But the higher you reach, the farther you have to fall. His success has impacted the lives of everyone in his life and that kind of change comes with unintended and far-reaching consequences. The past that he has been desperately trying to avoid comes rushing back with a vengeance and family secrets threaten to destroy everything he has worked so hard to achieve. CMT revealed the premiere dates for its 2017 scripted series including Nashville, Million Dollar Quartet (working title) and sitcom Still The King, marking the biggest scripted slate in the network's history. Additionally, CMT has ordered a new scripted sitcom pilot, His Wives & Daughters. The three series join an impressive roster of CMT originals that fueled +11% ratings growth year over year among Adults 18-49. Nashville makes its triumphant season five debut on CMT with Ed Zwick and Marshall Herskovitz (the creators of Thirtysomething) at the helm, returning with a special two-hour premiere on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at 9pm ET/PT. Still The King starring Billy Ray Cyrus and Joey Lauren Adams will return for a 13 episode second season in spring (exact date and time TBD). The premiere on June 8 marked CMT's highest-rated original series premiere to date, grossing 3.6 million total viewers (L+3) and a stellar 1.03 rating A18-49 rating across a 3 network simulcast (CMT, TV Land, Nick@Nite). Additionally, CMT has ordered a pilot for His Wives & Daughters. The soapy, comedic series centers on the eclectic and cunning wives and daughters of larger-than-life country music legend (and infamous womanizer) Eddie Ray Banks. After his estranged family is brought together unexpectedly, tempers flare and old rivalries resurface setting the stage for startling secrets to emerge as an unforgettable mystery begins to unfold. Casting is underway now with production slated to begin in the fall.

Starz announced that it has ordered a fourth season of the critically-acclaimed comedy series Survivor's Remorse from executive producers Mike O'Malley, Tom Werner, LeBron James and Maverick Carter for SpringHill Entertainment, Paul Wachter, Victor Levin and Hilton Smith. Season Three of Survivor's Remorse has seen record increases in its audience, averaging 2.9M viewers per episode among all reportable platforms, an increase of more than 20 percent above Season Two and 60 percent above Season One. Episode 306, which aired Sunday, August 21, showed a 20 percent gain over the previous week, making it the second highest premiere viewing ever for the series. Survivor's Remorse is a top-4 scripted program on cable among African-American viewers and a top-6 weekend program on cable among African-American viewers.

Survivor's Remorse follows the life of Cam Calloway (played by Jessie T. Usher), a hard-working, young basketball star who is thrust into the limelight after signing a huge contract with a pro basketball team in Atlanta. In Season Three, fame and fortune can't shield pro-basketballer Cam Calloway against tragedy. Each member of the Calloway family copes with the fallout of Uncle Julius' accident in their own way. Family bonds are tested, as a new season of Survivor's Remorse explores themes of love and loss, the comforts and doubts found in religion, the danger of seeking out ancestral roots, the power of bad parenting, the pitfalls of public utterances, and the pain of dredging up the past. The cast also includes RonReaco Lee, Tichina Arnold, Teyonah Parris and Erica Ash.

Starz announced orders for a third season of the critically-acclaimed STARZ Original comedy series Survivor's Remorse from executive producers Tom Werner, Maverick Carter, LeBron James, Mike O'Malley, Paul Wachter and Vic Levin. O'Malley has signed on again to serve as executive producer and showrunner. After achieving series-high weekend viewership with its second season premiere on Saturday, August 22, the second episode of season two continued the Survivor's Remorse winning streak, as the Live+SD weekend viewership grew 18% week over week to establish another series-high benchmark (1.34 million vs. 1.13 million Live+SD viewing). The Facts of Life is coming to TV Land and will launch with a Labor Day marathon on Monday, Sept. 7 from 9am-8pm! But wait, there's more! The Facts of Life will also air regularly on TV Land every weekday from 6-8pm following Gilligan's Island at 5. No other schedule changes will be made, except Gilligan's evening slot moves to 5-6pm instead of 6-8pm, cutting Bonanza by an airing. The Facts of Life has been airing on Viacom for some months now on sister network Logo, where it has done pretty well...and it will continue to also air on Logo as well. So it's double the fun for The Facts of Life! The series aired from 1979-1988 on NBC and starred Charlotte Rae, Lisa Whelchel, Kim Fields, Mindy Cohn and Nancy McKeon. Eliza Dooley (Karen Gillan) has 263,000 followers who hang on to her every post, tweet and selfie. But one lonely day, she has a revelation: being friended is not the same as having actual friends. She asks marketing guru Henry (John Cho) to 'rebrand' her self-obsessed reputation and teach her how to connect with people in the real world. Loosely based on My Fair Lady, Selfie explores the modern struggles of Eliza and Henry, as he tries to teach her how to live life offline - whether she 'likes' it or not.

Karen Gillan (Eliza Dooley) is a Scottish actress best known for her long-running tenure as companion Amy Pond on the British sci-fi series Doctor Who. She also starred as Nebula in the blockbuster film Guardians of the Galaxy. Her other film and TV credits include a starring role in Oculus and a recurring role on NTSF:SD:SUV::.

John Cho (Henry Higgins) is best known as Harold Lee in the popular Harold and Kumar film series. He also had a starring role in the NBC sitcom Go On. He has numerous other film and TV credits, including roles on FlashForward, Sleepy Hollow, Children's Hospital, 30 Rock, Ugly Betty, and Grey's Anatomy.

Tip Peper (Ethan Chase) is a Broadway actor primarily known for his stage work, including a starring role in Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoats. He also had guest roles on Law & Order, Guiding Light, and NCIS on television.

Da'Vine Joy Randolph (Charmonique) is best known for her starring role in Ghost: The Musical.

Allyn Rachel (Bryn) has appeared on several TV series, including Workaholics, Weeds, Comedy Bang! Bang! and New Girl.

Pilot Plot:

"Pilot" (Tuesday, Sept. 30 at 8:00PM ET/PT)

After an embarrassing incident, social media-obsessed Eliza Dooley must find a way to reinvent her image into someone that's actually capable of friendship. She enlists her co-worker Henry Higgins to help "re-invent" her into someone who's just friended into someone with actual friends.

Analysis:

Selfie is a show that I wanted to like more than I actually did. I was a fan of Emily Kapnak's previous creation (the dearly departed Suburgatory) and I'm a huge fan of both Karen Gillan and John Cho. All of these people are immensely talented, and I have faith that all of their combined talents will eventually form a show that's at least pretty good, if not fantastic. But the pilot isn't quite there yet, and it's not helped by the show's frankly unappealing concept, which boils the vast medium of the internet and the advent of social media into a bunch of obnoxious stereotypes. The shows' focus on the social trends of the moment strangely make it feel slightly dated in parts - there's a handful of internet memes from the not-too-distant past referenced that already feel more like throwbacks than current references (Flappy Bird was the biggest offender, along with the phrase "epic fail"), which might have been current when this script was being written but now demonstrate some of the issues of a show on this kind of time schedule attempting to be as "of the moment" as this show is.

The parts of Selfie that do shine are the parts that leave the annoying internet speak by the wayside and instead focus more closely on the potentially interesting characters that Eliza and Henry are at their core. Gillan and Cho both play these aspects well enough to suggest that the show could become something to look out for if it starts heading more towards that direction, and although Eliza Dooley needs to be turned down from the 15 out of 10 she's currently at on the cartoonish scale, both of these characters have potential to turn into something interesting. The last scene of the pilot suggests the show's ultimate goal is not the "let's fix this shallow person" plot it starts off as but rather a far more promising "let's have these two flawed people learn from each other route." And that's what will determine whether or not Selfie will be a show to look out for or not - if it can tone down its grating internet satire and and highlight the more nuanced details about this fairly interesting pair of characters, it could turn out to be something. There's no guarantee it'll go in that direction, but here's to hoping.

Conclusion:

Selfie isn't all there yet, but there's bits and pieces of a promising show lurking around the center of this pilot. If it can get the irritating meme-based comedy out of its system and start to become a more grounded, character-focused show about two flawed human beings, then this talented cast and writing team might be able to produce a show that's worth taking a look at. Let's hope that's the case, because there's far too much talent on Selfie to be wasted, and there's parts of this pilot that suggest there's a really good show hiding in here somewhere.

The comedy is a six-episode half-hour comedy series that follows Cam Calloway, played by Jessie T. Usher, a basketball phenom in his early 20's who is suddenly thrust into the limelight after signing a multi-million dollar contract with a professional basketball team in Atlanta. Cam, along with his cousin and confidant Reggie Vaughn, played by RonReaco Lee, move to Georgia to start Cam's journey to success. The two confront the challenges of carrying needy family members and their strong ties to the impoverished community that they come from. Cam, Reggie and an unforgettable group of characters wrestle with the rewards and pitfalls of stardom, love, and loyalty. The series is executive produced by Tom Werner, Maverick Carter, LeBron James, Mike O'Malley, Paul Wachter and Victor Levin and the cast includes Mike Epps, Tichina Arnold, Teyonah Parris, and Erica Ash.

The STARZ Original series Survivor's Remorse has been in production in Atlanta on the six-episode first season of the half-hour scripted single comedy series from LeBron James, Tom Werner, Mike O'Malley, Maverick Carter, Victor Levin and Paul Wachter. Set in Atlanta, the story follows Cam Calloway, a basketball phenom in his early 20's who is suddenly thrust into the limelight after signing a multi-million dollar contract with a professional basketball team, and explores the comedy and drama of an experience that everyone reads about, but few understand - what happens when you make it out. The series will premiere on STARZ in the fall of 2014. The cast is led by Jessie T. Usher in the role of Cam Calloway, Ronreaco Lee as Reggie Vaughn, Erica Ash as M-Chuck, the sister of Cam Calloway, and Tichina Arnold (Martin, Everybody Hates Chris) as Cassie, Cam's mother. They join Teyonah Parris who was cast as Reggie's wife Missy and Mike Epps (Being Mary Jane) as Cam's Uncle Julius.

Two classic sitcoms set in New York City have returned to the airwaves on local New York television. WPIX-11 has started airing The Cosby Show and The Jeffersons every morning as of Monday (June 16) morning. The classic comedies starring Bill Cosby & Sherman Hemsley are airing in the 4-5am hour replacing the early news hour of PIX11 Morning News (which will remain from 5-9am). The Cosby Show and The Jeffersons of course join fellow classic New York sitcom The Honeymooners on the PIX11 line-up. That sitcom airs every weekend at 11 & 11:30pm and is a PIX11 staple. And if that's not all PIX11 also airs other sitcoms set in New York like Seinfeld and Friends. WPIX-11 certainly has the New York themed laughs covered! Tune in every weekday morning bright and early for The Cosby Show and The Jeffersons to start your mornings off right on PIX11. Hopefully more New York based sitcoms join the PIX11 line-up soon, maybe a return of The Odd Couple and Taxi, or adding series like All in the Family, Barney Miller, Welcome Back Kotter, Diff'rent Strokes and Night Court?
