Nick at Nite Late Night Change; Fox's Dads Gets Cut By 3 Episodes
Nick at Nite made a last minute schedule change late last week. They added two more airings of George Lopez in late night, while dropping My Wife & Kids for now. This means George Lopez will air four times. It was already airing 1-2am, but now 2-3am had been "re-added." My Wife & Kids was airing 3-4am, but now Old Christine will slide from 2-3am to 3-4am. And Yes, Dear will remain from 4-5am. Now remember Nick at Nite goes "off-the-clock" in late night, so George Lopez technically airs from 1:24am-3:48am, followed by Old Christine from 3:48am-4:57am and Yes, Dear from 4:57am-6am. If they are not airing "off-the-clock" then all those shows air regularly on the half-hour and Full House is airing 5-6am. Back to My Wife & Kids, the sitcom has gone on hiatus from the network before but it came back before so it could always return. Sister network BET will continue to air the Damon Wayans sitcom on weekdays at 1:30pm & 2pm. So you still will have your Kyle family fix! Stay with us for continued update.
A little over a month ago Fox picked-up a full season order of 22 episodes for its new multi-camera sitcom Dads, but now they have kind of changed their minds. The sitcom will now tape 19 episodes this season rather than 22, so it will be cut three episodes short of a full 22-episode season. Dads has struggled in the ratings but it does lead-off the night with other comedies that are not the same type of comedy. As of this writing, eleven episodes of the nineteen have already aired, so eight episodes still remain and Fox will return the series in January. It is unclear if all 8 of the remaining episodes will air in January and February because starting Feb. 18, as we already mentioned, the sitcom will be off the line-up (a special American Idol on Feb. 18 and then Glee moves to Tuesdays at 8 starting Feb. 25). Keep it right here as soon as we know what the Dads situation will be. Will all 18 air by Feb. 18? Stay tuned.
