TNT Acquires NUMB3RS for Fall 2009; New Season of The Game on BET?
There will be a NUMB3RS marathon on Sunday, October 11 from 12pm-12am ET/PT. NUMB3RS will be exclusive to TNT until fall 2010 when local broadcast syndication will start airing it on weekends. Criminal Minds and NUMB3RS will join weekends in local syndication replacing CSI: NY and CSI: Miami. Criminal Minds will be on ION Television this fall as wel as A&E on cable.
Anyway, view the full TNT Fall 2009 schedule.
The sitcom The Game was just canceled by The CW after three seasons, but now cable network BET could pick it up for another season, the Hollywood Reporter is reporting! BET currently airs repeats of the sitcom in its weekday line-up. BET is in talks with CBS Television Studio for another season. BET is owned by Viacom, so it would make sense.
Series creator Mara Brock Akil in April pitched an hourlong version of the show as a way of to keep it on The CW, which was exiting the half-hour comedy business...but that didn't work. If it would come to BET, it would be a half-hour version, I'm sure. The options on the actors have expired, so if a deal is reached with BET, CBS TV Studios would have to make new deals with them. As they say, stay tuned...
