Summer Week 5 Sitcom Ratings; Coming Week Preview

It is summer time! Which means repeats, but there will be some originals, such as burn-off episodes of the Fox sitcom The Loop. Like last summer, we will just look at the sitcoms, but we will be back in the fall with our normal weekly reports. Here are the summer week 5 sitcom numbers:

Last Sunday Sitcoms (counts for week of June 18-24)
  • King of the Hill (Fox) - 2.57 million for a repeat.
  • The Simpsons (Fox) - A repeat did 3.69 million, doubling from lead-in.
  • The Loop (Fox) 3 all-new episodes - 7:30, 8:30 and 9:30pm: 1.52, 2.66 and 3.06 million, down from lead-ins each time...and by a lot!
  • Family Guy (Fox) - 4.59 million for an encore.
Monday Sitcoms
  • Family Guy (Fox) 2 episodes - Just 3.65 and 4.1 million, on par from previous week's encores of Simpsons/American Dad which did 3.76 and 3.07 million .
  • Old Christine (CBS) - No Creature Comforts, so this sitcom soared...5.54 and 6.51 million for repeats, not bad! Just 4.32 million for previous week.
  • Two and a Half Men (CBS) - 9.12 million for a repeat, again down from last week's 9.24.
  • How I Met Your Mother (CBS) - 7.08 million for a repeat.
  • Everybody Hates Chris, All of Us, Girlfriends, The Game (The CW) - Repeats of these sitcoms did all under 2 million this week with Chris, the highest at 1.93 million.


Tuesday Sitcoms

  • According to Jim (ABC) 2 episodes - Just 3.6 and 3.74 million from 8-9pm, on par from previous week's 3.45 and 3.75 million, but that was 9-10pm.
Wednesday Sitcoms
  • King of Queens (CBS) 2 episodes - 5.16 and 5.35 million for two repeats, much better than Creature Comfort encores from two weeks ago which did 3.48 and 3.1 million.

Thursday Sitcoms

  • My Name is Earl (NBC) - 5.2 million for a repeat, slightly up from two weeks ago's 4.94 million.
  • The Office (NBC) 3 episodes - 4.39, 4.45, and 4.46 million, better than last week's 8-10pm stunt of 4.09, 4.33 and 4.22 million.
Friday Sitcoms
  • None
Saturday Sitcoms
  • None


So what is new or notable this week that you might want to catch? Tonight Fox will burn-off more all-new episodes of sitcom The Loop at 7:00, 8:30 & 9:30p. NBC will have a Concert for Diana at 8pm. On cable, The 4400 and The Dead Zone will be all-new on USA and at 10pm on Lifetime, Army Wives.
On Monday it will be a battle of new at 9pm, an all-new Hell's Kitchen on Fox, ABC will bring back Extreme Makeover, and NBC airs episode three of the new reality series Age of Love also at 9pm, followed by a new Dateline at 10pm. On the cable front, it is an all-new Kyle XY on ABC Family at 8/7 central. TNT will air a new episode of The Closer followed by the new series Heartland!
Tuesday NBC will air a repeat of America's Got Talent from 8-10pm...so fans take note. Fox will continue to air low-rated reality series On the Lot at 8pm. ABC will air a new Shaq's Big Challenge at 9pm, followed by Primetime: Family Secrets at 10.
Wednesday ABC will be all repeats tonight so take note, with The Next Best Thing at 8pm, followed by American Inventor, and finally at 10pm the action packed drama Traveler. Fox will burn-off two new episodes of the canceled drama Drive. NBC will a Macy's 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular at 9. CBS will air the Boston Pops Fireworks at 10. The CW will air Hidden Palms at 8 . And on the cable front, a marathon of the new sitcom House of Payne on TBS.
Thursday CBS will bring back Big Brother with the premiere at 8pm, followed by a new episode of Pirate Master at 9. On cable, Burn Notice at 10 on USA Network.
Friday ABC will air a repurposed episode of Kyle XY at 9 and at 10pm the always new 20/20. Fox will burn-off an episode of Standoff at 9pm.

Friday, November 21

Happy's Place - "Straw Man" (NBC, 8:00PM ET/PT)
When Gabby asks Bobbie to help vet men to be her potential donor, Bobbie is happy to participate until she discovers Gabby is considering Emmett for the donation; Isabella is asked to be the guest speaker for Takoda's daughter's class.

Stumble - "In Sync" (NBC, 8:30PM ET/PT)
It's back to school for Heådltston State JC, which means in addition to her coaching, Courteney must get her kids settled into the dorms and begin classes; when the girls' periods sync up, Courteney's doesn't and she worries she may be pregnant.

  • Sydney Sweeney (Everything Sucks!) - Sydney is a guest on a repeat of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert at 11:35pm on CBS.
  • Matthew Broderick (Better Things) - Matthew appears on a repeat of Late Night with Seth Meyers at 12:36am on NBC.
  • Dave Franco (The Afterparty/Scrubs/Do Not Disturb) - Dave appears on a repeat of Late Night with Seth Meyers at 12:36am on NBC.
