TV Land Acquires 'Extreme Home Makeover', And Detail Summer Plans; Additional ABC Summer News
The hit series will begin its fifth season on ABC this fall. Like Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy, & Medium on Lifetime, the show will air just once a week, but it is likely the deal will allow for 5-days-a-week play in a few years, like those series will on Lifetime.

And TV Land announced its full summer slate today. TV Land kicks off the summer armed with a slate of new original programming, a month-long tribute to Elvis Presley in August, the addition of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (Tuesdays at 11PM starting Aug. 7) to its line-up, blockbuster movies and a programming marathon featuring the network's roster of hit shows -- all of which cater to Baby Boomers, America's "TV generation." New original programming premiering throughout the summer includes brand new episodes of the series TV Land Confidential (Wednesday at 10PM starting July 11), the premiere of the new series Back to the Grind (Wednesdays at 10:30PM starting July 18) and an original special airing as part of "Elvis Month" entitled Myths and Legends: Elvis (Thursday, Aug. 16 at 10PM).
TV Land also continues to air pop culture movie favorites viewers know and love like Parenthood, Arthur, Dragnet, Top Gun, Honeymoon in Vegas and more during its Friday night movie block.
Finally, "TV Land's Cocktail Party" -- airing weeknights starting June 4 -- showcases some of the network's most beloved shows such as The Andy Griffith Show, M*A*S*H, Three's Company, Good Times and more.

We have some ABC summer news for you. Repeats of According to Jim replaces George Lopez Tuesdays at 8PM for June 26, July 3, and July 10. According to Jim will still remain at 8:30PM.
Men in Trees encores return to the schedule Thursdays at 10PM until further notice.
George Lopez will air Fridays at 9 & 9:30PM for two weeks: June 29 and July 6. National Bingo Night's season finale is June 22.
Replacing George Lopez on Fridays at 9 starting July 13 will be repurposed episodes of ABC Family's new original series Greek on Fridays, July 13, 20, 27 and August 3.
Extreme Makeover returns with all-new episodes Mondays at 9PM for weeks of July 2, 9 and 16. The Ex-Wives Club season finale is June 25.
New game show Set for Life will air Fridays at 8PM starting July 20, replacing Kyle XY ABC Family repurposing until further notice. Kyle XY will be repurposed only on June 15, 22, 29, July 6 and July 13.
Finally, new drama Masters of Science Fiction will air Saturdays at 10PM for four weeks (Aug. 4, 11, 18 and 25).
