TV Land Makes Some Changes, More 'Andy' and 'Beaver', 'What's Happening' Gone; TV Land Discusses New Original Series

We are breaking in bright and early at midnight ET to let you know TV Land has made changes that will start later today (Monday, Dec. 18). TV Land has decided to air The Andy Griffith Show in a two-hour block. It is currently airing at 8 & 8:30 p.m. with an encore at 1:10 a.m. and 1:45 a.m., but now they will expand that and add 9 & 9:30 p.m. with an encore at 2:20 a.m. and 2:55 a.m. The 9 & 9:30 p.m. slot will remove What's Happening!! What's Happening!! came back to the schedule on Dec. 7, so it is quickly off after just a handful of days of airing. Some other changes will start Tuesday, with the evening line-up and overnight line-up changing a bit. Green Acres will now air for a full hour at 5 p.m. (it was just 5 p.m. before), Leave it to Beaver was at 5:30 p.m., but now it will air for a full hour at 6 p.m., replacing All in the Family. All in the Family will still air at 12:30 p.m. and 1 p.m. weekdays. The overnight changes are a result of Andy being added with two more slots, so The Jeffersons, Sanford & Son, Green Acres, and Leave it to Beaver will slide an hour ahead (3:30am-6am now, before it was 2:20am-5am), and Little House on the Prairie's encore at 5 a.m. will be gone as a result. We mentioned last week TV Land has slotted a new original for 6 episodes starting Jan. 10 called Myths & Legends, but now TV Land has given much more details on it. TV Land takes a look at the most compelling and intriguing mysteries in Hollywood with the premiere of TV Land Myths and Legends on Wednesday, January 10 at 10 p.m. (all times ET/PT). From delving into the secret of which of Carly Simon's former lovers inspired her hit song "You're So Vain", to the truth behind a possible Poltergeist curse, to if Lucille Ball was a Communist, to if Gilligan's Island was a metaphor for hell, to whether Barry Williams was really high during an episode of The Brady Bunch -- this six-part series goes behind-the-scenes to investigate Hollywood's most fabled myths and legends.
