Official statement: "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert will end its historic run in May 2026 at the end of the broadcast season. We consider Stephen Colbert irreplaceable and will retire The Late Show franchise at that time. We are proud that Stephen called CBS home. He and the broadcast will be remembered in the pantheon of greats that graced late night television.
This is purely a financial decision against a challenging backdrop in late night. It is not related in any way to the show's performance, content or other matters happening at Paramount.
Our admiration, affection, and respect for the talents of Stephen Colbert and his incredible team made this agonizing decision even more difficult. Stephen has taken CBS late night by storm with cutting-edge comedy, a must-watch monologue and interviews with leaders in entertainment, politics, news and newsmakers across all areas. The show has been #1 in late night for nine straight seasons; Stephen's comedy resonates daily across digital and social media; and the broadcast is a staple of the nation's zeitgeist.
The accomplishments of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert are memorable and significant in performance, quality and stature. With much gratitude, we look forward to honoring Stephen and celebrating the show over the next 10 months alongside its millions of fans and viewers."

Character actor Philip Baker Hall, who played Lt. Joe Bookman on Seinfeld, has died. He died of emphysema at his home in Glendale, California, on June 12. Mr. Hall was 90.
Hall's early sitcom guest appearances included Good Times, M*A*S*H, It's a Living, Benson and Bagdad Cafe. He appeared as Dr. Harrison in the 1988 three-part Family Ties episode "Heartstrings," in which Steven Keaton has a heart attack and has to undergo heart surgery.

He played Lt. Joe Bookman, a detective pursuing a long-overdue library book, in the Seinfeld episode "The Library." It aired in the third season on October 16, 1991. Jerry learns he has a library fine from 1971, for the then-controversial book Tropic of Cancer, and that the "case" has been turned over to the library investigations officer, Lt. Bookman. Hall reprised the role in "The Finale," which aired on May 14, 1998.

Hall starred as Russ McDonald on the 2006-2007 Fox sitcom The Loop. TCA Winter 2020 Press Tour: ABC Includes Modern Family Finale, The Conners Live and Return of Millionaire

Yesterday was day two of the TCA Winter 2020 Press Tour and ABC was up. We got many announcements, including the finale date for Modern Family. The Pritchett-Dunphy-Tucker clan are ready to say goodbye but not before giving fans one final night of belly laughs as one of television's great family comedies. Currently in its 11th and final season, ABC announced that the Emmy(R) Award-winning series Modern Family will air its series farewell episode on Wednesday, April 8, on ABC. In addition, ABC is giving fans the power to program an entire night filled with their favorite Modern Family episodes that will air Wednesday, March 11 from 8:00-11:00pm EDT. The night will kick off with the episode that started it all - the Modern Family series premiere - followed by five additional fan-chosen episodes, giving viewers a chance to gather their families for the ultimate Modern Family binge and relive some of the Pritchett-Dunphy-Tucker clan's most hilarious, jaw-dropping and monumental moments. Voting for your favorite Modern Family episodes will begin Monday, Feb. 3, via a daily Twitter poll from the show's Twitter handle and concludes Friday, Feb. 7. Each day, a different selection of episodes will be available for fans to choose from for a curated night of Modern Family fun!

ABC will air a special live episode of top-rated comedy The Conners the night of the New Hampshire primary on Tuesday, Feb. 11 at 8:00pm EST. The cast will perform the episode live for both the East and West coast broadcasts. ABC News coverage of the first-in-the-nation New Hampshire primary will be incorporated into the story in real time as the results roll in during the evening. The live episode will find Mark (Ames McNamara) watching the results of the primary for a school report with Harris (Emma Kenney), who is apathetic to the electoral process and believes money's influence in politics means real change is impossible. The rest of the Conners share their differing takes on why they all think everyone should vote, including their working-class perspective that you may have to vote for a candidate you don't love but one that will "screw you the least." All of this happens against the backdrop of romance when Louise (guest star Katey Sagal) gets an opportunity that might send her away from Lanford, prompting the family to interfere in Dan's (John Goodman) complicated relationship with her by throwing Louise a surprise going-away party, creating major new tensions between Dan and his daughters.
Friday nights are about to see some shark-infested waters when Shark Tank, the critically acclaimed and multi-Emmy® Award-winning entrepreneurial-themed reality show currently in its 11th season, returns to its Friday time slot on Feb. 28 at 8:00pm EST, while the hit comedy American Housewife moves to a new spot on the ABC comedy block beginning Wednesday, April 15 at 9:00pm EDT, following the conclusion of Modern Family. But before that, American Housewife will air at 9:30pm EDT for a few weeks starting March 18 once Single Parents wraps before moving to 9:00pm EDT on April 15. ABC has not announced what will air Wednesdays at 9:30pm beginning April 15 yet. Multi-camera comedy United We Fall hasn't been scheduled just yet.
Other scheduling news: ABC's compelling new modern-day fairy tale, The Baker and the Beauty, will take viewers on a flavor-filled adventure between relatable everyman Daniel and international superstar Noa. The drama premieres Monday, April 6 at 10:00pm EDT. In celebration of the 20th anniversary of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, which debuted in the U.S. as a prime-time series in January 2000, ABC's celebrated late-night staple and Emmy® Award-winning producer Jimmy Kimmel will be stepping into prime time as host of a special run of episodes featuring celebrity contestants playing for charity. In addition, a new interactive game will allow viewers to play along from home. Millionaire is set to premiere on Wednesday, April 8 at 10:00 pm EDT. The power of love knows no bounds as ABC further expands its hit-making Bachelor franchise with an all-new Bachelor Nation series, The Bachelor: Listen to Your Heart, set to premiere Monday, April 13 from 8:00-10:00pm EDT. ABC announced the explosive series finale of How to Get Away with Murder will air Thursday, May 14 at 10:00 p.m. EDT. The critically acclaimed series, which will return for its six-episode killer farewell event on Thursday, April 2, is currently in its sixth and final season.
Finally, ABC is bringing back the classic TV game show Supermarket Sweep, hosted and executive produced by Emmy® Award-nominated comedienne and actress Leslie Jones. Produced by Fremantle, the fast-paced and energetic series follows three teams of two as they battle it out using their grocery shopping skills and knowledge of merchandise to win big cash prizes. The original format aired on ABC from 1965-1967 and went on to become a global sensation. It was adapted in 13 international territories and, most recently, relaunched in the UK. Production on the 10-episode order is set to begin this spring. An airdate will be announced at a later date. thirtysomething(else), a sequel to the groundbreaking series thirtysomething, has received a pilot pickup from ABC. The show will follow an ensemble of new faces playing the grown-up, 30-something children of the original cast reprised by Ken Olin (Michael Steadman), Mel Harris (Hope Murdoch), Timothy Busfield (Elliot Weston) and Patty Wettig (Nancy Weston). Apparently, raising children (even grown children) never ends, but who could have known how hard it would be for them to raise their parents? And finally, ABC announced that the network has picked up The Brides, a new pilot drama from executive producer/writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (Riverdale, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television to pilot. Maggie Kiley (American Horror Story, Riverdale, upcoming Katy Keene) is set to direct. Downs, Janeane Garofalo, Richard Kind, Thomas Lennon, David Krumholtz, Ana Gasteyer, Darrell Hammond, Jackie Hoffman, John Early, James Monroe Iglehart, Matt Malloy, and more.
Each week of At Home with Amy Sedaris revolves around a conventional homemaking theme, with subversive twists taking segments in delightfully wacky directions. New topics explored this season include how to entertain teenagers, game nights, caring for the ill and makeovers. Hailed as "a disturbing and delicious beast" (The New York Times), "life-affirming" (The A.V. Club) and "bonkers DIY" (Variety), the series emerged as a critical hit in its debut season, garnering massive social engagement and earning an Emmy nomination in the Variety Sketch category, as well as a recent WGA Award nomination in the Comedy/Variety Sketch Series category.

TCA Summer 2014 Press Tour: NBC Networks; More Info on Apt. 23 on Logo, With 8 Unaired Episodes
Yesterday as we mentioned was NBC's second day for the TCA Summer 2014 Press Tour. It was all NBC Cable, Syndication and Sports, though. We'll cover some noteworthy items only. CNBC expanded plans to air its exclusive off-network cable run of ABC's Shark Tank Monday through Friday beginning September 22, 2014. Shark Tank currently airs Tuesdays ("Shark Tank Tuesdays") at 8 & 9 pm ET/PT on CNBC. Timeslots for the weekday airings will be announced at a later date. Meanwhile, Oxygen Media unveiled its new logo and tagline, very real, as part of the network rebrand scheduled to launch on Tuesday, October 7 across all platforms. The new Oxygen will feature authentic, proudly imperfect and diverse characters with stories that are culturally relevant for young, modern women. And that's about it. Tomorrow, we'll cover ABC, which is up today at the press tour. Among the panels that will be featured are for ABC Family's Chasing Life, followed by ABC's upcoming new series like How to Get Away with Murder, Selfie, black-ish, Forever, Manhattan Love Story and Cristela.
Two weeks ago we broke the news about Don't Trust the B in Apt 23 repeats coming to Logo starting July 19... now Logo has officially announced it with more details. The B is Back! Logo TV revives cult favorite, Don't Trust the B in Apt 23, with a "The B is Back" marathon on Saturday, July 19 from 1:00PM-10:00PM ET/PT, as we mentioned. Eight hours of totally inappropriate and bitingly funny episodes lead up to the network premiere of the first of eight, never before seen on TV, episodes for the series that was cut short by cancelation amid fan outrage. The remaining, previously unaired episodes will roll out on Saturdays at 10PM ET/PT starting July 19. It may have been canceled too soon, but this B isn't going down without a fight. After June, a naïve small town girl, has her dreams to make it in New York City end in disaster, she is forced to move in with Chloe, a party girl with sociopathic tendencies who wants to drive June out. June turns the tables on her conniving roommate, creating an unlikely friendship. Join Krysten Ritter, Dreama Walker, and James Van Der Beek for a full-day bitchfest on July 19.

ABC Mid-Season Change Has Happy Endings Moving to Fridays; I Dream of Jeannie President's Day Marathon in New York
ABC has announced midseason scheduling moves, with Celebrity Wife Swap, the reality series that shines a light on how controversial celebrities really live their lives, returning on Tuesday, February 26 at 8:00pm ET with all-new episodes, and competitive cooking show The Taste moving back an hour to 9:00pm, starting that same night. And beginning Friday, March 29, critically acclaimed comedy Happy Endings will move to a new night and time on Friday nights, airing back-to-back original episodes at 8:00pm & 8:30pm, ET. The Friday night comedy block of Last Man Standing and Malibu Country will have aired their season finales the week prior to Happy Endings taking over that timeslot on March 22, after both wrap up their 18 episode orders. The comedy will be the lead-in to Friday's #1 show Shark Tank at 9pm. ABC had planned to launch Primetime Nightline in April at 9pm, but that might be pushed back to May or early summer.
Happy Endings is scheduled to air for five straight Fridays to fulfill the ten episodes that are left to air this season, so the season finale will likely be on April 26. The sitcom last aired on Tuesday, Jan. 29 from 9-10pm, as it was preempted last week (Feb. 5) for a special The Bachelor and this week for the State of the Union Address. On Feb. 19 The Bachelor: Sean Tells All special will air before Celebrity Wife Swap takes over on Feb. 26. ABC has only scheduled three Celebrity Wife Swap episodes for now (Feb. 26-March 12). The first episode features the unlikeliest of moms swapping lives -- Splash contestant and Playmate Kendra Wilkinson and reality super mom Kate Gosselin of Kate Plus Eight fame (and both former Dancing with the Stars contestants). The 3 episodes will keep the timeslot warm for Splash when it premieres on March 19, while The Taste will wrap up on March 12 at 9pm. No word on what ABC will air at 9pm on Tuesday, March 19 yet, but they could expand the Splash premiere to two-hours, as Dancing with the Stars: The Results will not launch until the following week on March 26. Stay tuned for the casting announcement for Dancing on Feb. 26 during Good Morning America. And among the stars on Splash, we have former sitcom stars Nicole Eggert and Keshia Knight Pulliam, along with TV stars Drake Bell and Louie Anderson, and Chuy Bravo, Ndamukong Suh, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Rory Bushfield, Katherine Webb and Kendra Wilkinson rounding out the cast.
Moving on, if you had one wish, what would it be? This President's Day, anything can happen – with a little help from a certain genie. WLNY-TV 10/55 in New York is rounding up another classic TV show for a holiday. This time the holiday is President's Day and WLNY-TV 10-55 is making all your wishes come true with an I Dream Of Jeannie marathon. I Dream of Jeannie, starring Barbara Eden and Larry Hagman, will air for a full-day marathon event on Monday, February 18, 2013 from 9am-9pm. Episode information is still not available. WLNY has aired marathons of Taxi, The Odd Couple, The Munsters, Andy Griffith Show, and I Love Lucy on holidays already since last July.
Rescued from a bottle (and a deserted island) by a U.S. astronaut, a scantily clad genie named Jeannie becomes his slave and eventually falls in love with him. But unlike most genie stories, there are no three wishes rule - so Jeannie uses her magic all the time, often without talking to her rescuer about it first.
