It's time to say goodbye to Cal U! Hulu just launched two collections on the Grown-ish series page with favorite episodes handpicked by stars Marcus Scribner and Yara Shahidi. Fans of the "-Ish" Universe will also be able to easily access both Black-ish and Mixed-ish under the new "-Ish Universe" tab on the Grown-ish series page.

Apple TV+ New Peanuts Special; grown-ish Star Gets Prime Video Film
Apple TV+ released the trailer for the all-new, highly anticipated Peanuts special Snoopy Presents: One-of-a-Kind Marcie, premiering globally on Friday, August 18. Sometimes the people who make the biggest difference, aren’t the ones who grab the spotlight. In Snoopy Presents: One-of-a-Kind Marcie, we get to see first-hand how our lovable introvert, Marcie, makes a monumental difference from behind the scenes both for her friends and her community. To train for the school golf championship, Marcie assists Peppermint Patty as her caddie, offering thoughtful and deliberate advice to help her win. Meanwhile, after coming up with brilliant solutions to her classmates’ problems – from hallway traffic jams to lunchtime pizza shortages – Marcie is unexpectedly elected as class president...a role she never wanted. Suddenly thrust into the spotlight, Marcie struggles to cope with the expectations of her new job and retreats as far from the public eye as possible. Prime Video revealed first-look images for the upcoming comedy film Sitting in Bars with Cake, starring Yara Shahidi (grown-ish), Odessa A'zion, Ron Livingston, and the legendary Bette Midler. An open-hearted look at friendship and finding yourself in early adulthood, the film is directed by Trish Sie (Pitch Perfect 3) and inspired by real-life events and the book of the same name by Audrey Shulman, who also wrote the screenplay. Shahidi is also an executive producer on the film, which marks her first project as an executive producer. On September 8, Sitting in Bars with Cake will be available exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories around the world.
Inspired by true events, Sitting in Bars with Cake follows best friends Jane (Yara Shahidi) and Corinne (Odessa A'zion) navigating life in Los Angeles in their twenties. Corinne, the ultimate extrovert, convinces her shy-but-extremely-talented home baker best friend Jane to commit to a year of baking cakes and bringing them to bars, with the goal of meeting people and developing confidence-also known as "cakebarring." During their year of "cakebarring," Corinne receives a life-altering diagnosis, and the pair face a challenge unlike anything they've experienced before. Sitting in Bars with Cake isn't only a madcap joyride through some of L.A.'s most colorful watering holes, it's a moving celebration of female friendship, forging identity, and finding joy in the most unexpected places.

Freeform Summer 2023 Schedule; Hulu Renews Reasonable Doubt for Season 2
Freeform is set for a sun-sational summer with the debut of the new series Praise Petey and the returns of grown-ish and record-breaking hit series Cruel Summer. New episodes will be on Hulu the next day. The highly anticipated season two of smash-hit anthology series Cruel Summer will debut on Monday, June 5, at 9:00 p.m. EDT with a special two-episode premiere before moving to its regular 10 p.m. timeslot. Set in an idyllic waterfront town in the Pacific Northwest, the next chapter of Cruel Summer follows the rise and fall of an intense teenage friendship. Approaching the story from three different timelines surrounding Y2K, the season twists and turns as it tracks the early friendship between Megan, Isabella and Megan's best friend Luke, the love triangle that blossomed, and the mystery that would impact all of their lives going forward. The series stars Sadie Stanley, Lexi Underwood, Griffin Gluck, KaDee Strickland, Lisa Yamada and Sean Blakemore. Paul Adelstein and Braeden De La Garza will recur.
grown-ish will debut the first half of its sixth season on Wednesday, June 28, at 10:00 p.m. EDT. Justine Skye and Tara Raani have been upped to series regulars. Skye plays Annika, a funny, sharp, extremely ambitious future media mogul who chose Cal U because it was best for her brand. Raani plays Zaara, a first-generation Indian American. She is a junior, type-A overachiever with a lot of swagger. Zaara is queer and open with her sexuality. After following in his big sister Zoey's footsteps and taking on her alma mater, Andre Johnson Jr., aka Junior, makes moves to step out of his sister's shadow and become a big man on campus. The series stars Marcus Scribner, Trevor Jackson, Diggy Simmons, Daniella Perkins, Justine Skye and Tara Raani and is produced by ABC Signature. Kenya Barris, Craig Doyle, Yara Shahidi, Anthony Anderson, Laurence Fishburne, Helen Sugland, E. Brian Dobbins and Michael Petok serve as executive producers. Doyle also serves as showrunner for the sixth season.
Freeform makes its animated debut with Praise Petey, premiering on Friday, July 21, at 10:00 p.m. EDT with two back-to-back episodes each week as part of Family Guy Friday. The series follows Petey, a New York City "it" girl who has it all until her life comes crashing down around her. As luck would have it, a mysterious gift from her father gives her a new lease on life: She's going to "lean into" modernizing his small-town cult. The series stars Annie Murphy (Schitt's Creek), John Cho (Cowboy Bebop), Kiersey Clemons (The Flash), Stephen Root (Barry), Amy Hill (Magnum P.I.) and Christine Baranski (The Good Fight).
Onyx Collective and ABC Signature announced a season two renewal for Hulu Original drama series Reasonable Doubt, from executive producers Raamla Mohamed, Kerry Washington and Larry Wilmore. Morris Chestnut (The Best Man) has been served to join the sophomore season, alongside series regulars Emayatzy Corinealdi, McKinley Freeman, Tim Jo, Angela Grovey, Aderinsola Olabode and Thaddeus J. Mixson. Reasonable Doubt centers on Los Angeles-based high-powered criminal defense attorney Jacqueline "Jax" Stewart (Corinealdi) as she deals with past traumas, a failing marriage, motherhood and a murder case, all while trying to keep her life together. Chestnut is set to play Corey Cash, a charming, media-savvy defense attorney who often represents the underdogs. When Jax brings in Corey to help on a new high-profile case, she soon realizes that he's more shine than substance and that he's threatening her position at the firm.

TCA Winter 2023 Press Tour: ABC/Freeform; Antenna TV's Designing Women Super Belle Special
On the heels of its three wins at the Golden Globe(R) Awards ceremony, ABC has renewed hit comedy series Abbott Elementary from Warner Bros. Television and 20th Television for a third season. It was announced at the 2023 Winter Television Critics Association Press Tour. Abbott Elementary delivers a 3.58 rating in Adults 18-49 after 35 days of viewing across platforms, growing 31% over its prior season and ranking as ABC's No. 1 series this season. In addition, the sophomore ABC sitcom averages 9.1 million Total Viewers in its second season after 35 days of cross-platform viewing, marking an increase of 13% over last season. New episodes air Wednesdays at 9:00 p.m. EST. In last night's episode, "Fight," during a day of touchdowns and missed plays, the Abbott Elementary faculty find themselves learning lessons in teamwork. Two of Janine's students aren't getting along in class, leading her to seek advice from her colleagues on how to help repair their friendship. Meanwhile, Melissa and Ava plot to bring down Mr. Johnson in fantasy football.
ABC has ordered an embedded pilot episode of The Good Doctor called The Good Lawyer, from Sony Pictures Television and ABC Signature. In the episode airing March 6, Dr. Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore) seeks legal representation to help him win a case and puts his faith in a promising, young lawyer who has obsessive compulsive disorder. The episode is written by co-showrunners David Shore and Liz Friedman, and directed by Ruben Fleischer. Kennedy McMann ("Nancy Drew") is set to guest star as Joni DeGroot, the brilliant, funny and self-aware lawyer who is relatively new to her prestigious law firm when she takes Shaun's case. Emmy(R) Award-winning Felicity Huffman (American Crime) is set to guest star as Janet Stewart, a highly regarded attorney and partner at the law firm with a fierce intellect and dry wit.
ABC's Emmy(R) Award-winning daytime drama General Hospital will celebrate its 60th anniversary on April 1, 2023. To honor the milestone, the network is set to present the cast and crew with a stage dedication on the Prospect Studios lot, permanently commemorating the show's legacy and serving as a reminder of the history that has been made in that very spot. The show will kick off its anniversary programming at the end of March with a special episode honoring the late Sonya Eddy, who played GH head nurse Epiphany Johnson on the series since 2006. Then, the beloved Nurses Ball returns starting the week of April 3, a fictional glamorous charity event complete with red-carpet fashion and musical performances from the illustrious citizens of Port Charles dedicated to HIV/AIDS awareness. This marks the first time the Nurses Ball has aired since 2020. The festivities will then continue as icons of Port Charles unite to stop a legendary threat from the past. Jane Elliot is set to reprise her role as the legendary Tracy Quartermaine in April.
The second season of the critically acclaimed comedy Single Drunk Female will debut on WEDNESDAY, APRIL 12, at 10:00 p.m. EDT/PDT, with the entire 10-episode second season available on Hulu and on-demand platforms the next day, Thursday, April 13. Ian Gomez (Cougar Town) has been elevated to series regular as Carol's boyfriend, Bob. Busy Phillipps (Cougar Town) and Ricky Velez (The King of Staten Island) will recur as new people in Sam's life, and Charlie Hall (The Sex Lives of College Girls) will once again recur as Sam's ex, Joel. As previously announced, Molly Ringwald will guest star as Carol's sister-in-law Alice. Emmy(R)-nominated grown-ish is being picked up for a sixth season. The series returns for the second half of its fifth season on Wednesday, Jan. 18, at 10:30 p.m. EST/PST, next day on Hulu. And finally, Cruel Summer, the highest-rated series in Freeform history, will return for its second season in Summer 2023. The anthology series features a brand new cast and mystery. The series now stars Sadie Stanley, Lexi Underwood, Griffin Gluck, KaDee Strickland, Lisa Yamada and Sean Blakemore. Paul Adelstein will recur.
If you are fed up with football and have had it with halftime shows, Antenna TV calls time out with the all-day "Designing Women's Super Belle Sunday" special, starting Sunday, February 12 at 5am Eastern on Antenna TV. The "Designing Women's Super Belle Sunday" special features a "best of collection" from the sitcom that follows a group of successful women working at an interior design firm in Atlanta. Designing Women originally aired from 1986 to 1993 over seven seasons with 163 episodes. The original cast included Delta Burke, Jean Smart, Dixie Carter, Annie Potts, and Meshach Taylor. Freeform Announces Premiere Dates for Winter; ABC Broadcasts Special Airing of Reasonable Doubt
Freeform announced the winter premiere dates for the series premiere of The Watchful Eye from Ryan Seacrest Productions and returning favorite grown-ish. The Watchful Eye will premiere Monday, Jan. 30, with a double episode premiere at 9 p.m. before moving to its regular 10 p.m. timeslot. The series follows Elena Santos, played by Mariel Molino, a young woman with a complicated past, maneuvering her way into working as a live-in nanny for an affluent family in Manhattan. She quickly learns that everyone in the mysterious building has deadly secrets and ulterior motives. What they don't know, however, is that Elena has some shocking secrets of her own.
The Watchful Eye is from Ryan Seacrest Productions and stars Molino, Warren Christie, Amy Acker, Jon Ecker, Aliyah Royale, Lex Lumpkin, Henry Joseph Samiri and Kelly Bishop. It is created by Julie Durk (Grace and Frankie), who also serves as consultant. Emily Fox (Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist) is showrunner and executive producer. Ryan Seacrest, Nina Wass, Andrea Shay and Jeffrey Reiner serve as executive producers, with Reiner (Dirty John) directing the pilot. The series is produced by ABC Signature, a part of Disney Television Studios.

Onyx Collective's first scripted series, Reasonable Doubt, in anticipation of its season finale on Nov. 15 on Hulu, the series will make its broadcast television debut on ABC with a special airing of its premiere episode on Thursday, Nov. 10 from 10:01-11:00 p.m. EST. The drama series - from writer and executive producer Raamla Mohamed, and executive producer and director Kerry Washington - is produced by ABC Signature and streams exclusively on Hulu in the U.S. Mohamed leads an all-Black writing staff on the series.

Freeform Summer 2022 Schedule; The Waltons Return to The CW This Holiday Season
Freeform released its summer schedule, including a slate of highly anticipated new and returning original series. New comedy series Everything's Trash, from Phoebe Robinson, will premiere on Wednesday, July 13 with double episodes at 10 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. EDT/PDT, then weekly at 10:30 p.m. EDT/PDT. Our favorite unit of witches returns for one last fight in the upcoming third and final season of Motherland: Fort Salem, which will premiere on Tuesday, June 21 at 10:00 p.m. EDT/PDT. In addition, Good Trouble will be back for the second half of season 4 on Thursday, July 7 at 10:00 p.m. EDT/PDT, and Emmy®-nominated grown-ish will return for season 5 on Wednesday, July 20 at 10:00 p.m. EDT/PDT.
The CW Network announced a new, original made-for-television movie The Waltons' Thanksgiving will debut in the fourth quarter 2022. An exact air date and time will be announced later. In The Waltons' Thanksgiving, the holiday spirit is in the air on Walton Mountain in 1934 as the Walton family eagerly prepares for the annual Harvest Festival Fair in town. Carnival rides, talent shows and pie contests come around every year, but at this year's Harvest Festival Fair, a young boy arrives that will dramatically change the Waltons' lives in ways that they could have never imagined. From Warner Bros. Television, The Waltons' Thanksgiving is a follow-up to The CW's original television movie The Waltons' Homecoming, which was the network's second most-watched special of the 2021-22 season. The Waltons' Homecoming took home a 73rd Annual Christopher Award in Television, Cable and Streaming, as well as two Movie Guide Awards for the Epiphany Prize in Television and star Bellamy Young for the Grace Prize in Television for most inspiring performance of the year. It was also the winner of the Environmental Media Association’s Green Seal Award for implementing sustainable practices and raising environmental awareness.
The Waltons' Thanksgiving stars Bellamy Young (Scandal, Promised Land) as Olivia, Logan Shroyer (This Is Us) as John Boy, Teddy Sears (The Flash) as John Sr., and Richard Thomas, who originally starred as John Boy Walton in the beloved television series The Waltons, as adult John Boy, who narrates the movie. The television movie is produced by Magnolia Hill Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television, with Emmy®-winning executive producer Sam Haskell, writer/co-executive producer Jim Strain, co-executive producer Hudson Hickman, producer Billy Levin, and producer Bobby Kelly. - The thing that is difficult about a show about students at a college or high school is that you can't really keep the series going more than about four seasons without "graduating" some cast members or at least coming up with some viable explanation as to why they haven't graduated, and grown-ish is going to be going through that just before season five. - Amazingly (for a series that doesn't get a whole lot of attention or water cooler talk), it looks like The Goldbergs may be headed for a 10th season. (Deadline)
- Smile, Shout! Factory has acquired the rights to Candid Camera for digital streaming. (Deadline)
- It doesn't appear that they have much (if anything) that can't be seen elsewhere, but YouTube has added 4000 free (with ads) episodes of various TV series, in an effort to compete with the other streaming giants. (Variety)
- Although reruns will continue for at least another season (and probably far beyond that if Jerry Springer is any indication), Maury, TV's longest running paternity test, is finally ending production. (Deadline)

grown-ish Season 5 Gets black-ish Star; Lilly Singh Joins Muppets Comedy Series
As the final season of black-ish comes to a close and the current grown-ish class graduates Cal U, the beloved -ish universe continues with Emmy®-nominated grown-ish picked up for a fifth season. black-ish star Marcus Scribner heads over to join his TV sister Yara Shahidi on the Freeform spinoff, reprising his role as Andre Johnson Jr. as he embarks on his own journey to being "grown." Award-winning playwright and producer Zakiyyah Alexander (Russian Doll, La Brea) and black-ish executive producer and showrunner Courtney Lilly will come on board as co-showrunners. grown-ish, which is currently in its fourth season and airs on Thursdays at 10 p.m. on Freeform and streaming the next day on Hulu, follows Zoey and her classmates on the road to graduation. The final season of black-ish returns with new episodes on Tuesday, March 22, on ABC, and all seasons are available to stream on Hulu. Disney+ announced The Muppets Mayhem, a comedy series starring the world-famous Muppets, has been greenlit. The series will take audiences on a music-filled journey as, at long last, The Electric Mayhem Band records its first ever album. Comedian/talk show host Lilly Singh (A Little Late with Lilly Singh, Dollface) will play the (human) lead role of Nora the junior A&R executive tasked with managing and wrangling the mayhem that is The Electric Mayhem Band. The series was developed by Adam F. Goldberg, Bill Barretta and Jeff Yorkes based on characters created by Jim Henson. It is written by Adam F. Goldberg (ABC's The Goldbergs), Bill Barretta (ABC's The Muppets, Muppets Haunted Mansion) and Jeff Yorkes, the executive producers are Goldberg, Barretta, Michael Bostick and Kris Eber. Yorkes is a co-executive producer. The Muppets Studio's David Lightbody and Leigh Slaughter are also executive producers. The Disney Branded Television series is produced by ABC Signature and The Muppets Studio for Disney+.

Freeform Acquires The Office Starting January 2022; 27th Annual Critics Choice Awards Nominees
Freeform announced that it has licensed all nine seasons of The Office from NBCUniversal Global Distribution in a non-exclusive deal and will begin airing the series beginning on Jan 1, 2022. Comedy Central will continue to air on cable through 2025. To celebrate this new addition, Freeform will air two marathons over New Year's weekend, starting with a countdown of the 30 Best Episodes, as determined by fans and multiple publications, on Saturday, Jan 1, from 1 p.m.-12 a.m EST/PST. On Sunday, Jan. 2, Freeform will air a second marathon of episodes showcasing cast favorites, based on interviews with the cast of The Office, from 1 p.m.-11 p.m EST/PST. In celebration of the news, The Office star Melora Hardin recorded a video announcement as well.
The addition of the beloved show also signals a change in Freeform's weekday program lineup. The Office will air Monday-Thursday from 6:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. EST/PST. The network will continue airing its originals throughout the week (such as grown-ish/Single Drunk Female on Thursdays from 10-11pm), as well as episodes of Family Guy on Fridays from 1pm-1am and movies now airing exclusively on weekends. This updated program schedule reflects Freeform's shift toward more irreverent, adult comedy and content while still providing family favorites on the weekends. The rest of the schedule on weekdays has black-ish from 7-9am, The Middle from 10:30am-2pm (Fridays it is 10:30am-1pm), Movies from 2pm-6pm, and The Simpsons from 12am-2am.
The Critics Choice Association (CCA) announced the TV category nominees for The 27th Annual Critics Choice Awards. The winners will be revealed at the star-studded Critics Choice Awards gala, which will broadcast LIVE on The CW and TBS on Sunday, January 9 from 7:00 - 10:00 pm ET (delayed PT). HBO's Succession leads this year's TV contenders with eight nominations. In addition to Best Drama Series the show racked up a slew of acting nominations including nods for both Brian Cox and Jeremy Strong for Best Actor in a Drama Series. Several of their co-stars also find themselves vying with each other, as Nicholas Braun, Kieran Culkin and Matthew Macfadyen all scored nominations for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series, while J. Freeform Announces January Schedule; Starz Releases Premiere Date for Shining Vale with Courteney Cox
Freeform announced its January schedule, which includes the series premiere of the highly anticipated comedy Single Drunk Female, from Jenni Konner and Simone Finch, with a two-episode premiere on Thursday, Jan. 20, and new episodes of grown-ish on Thursday, Jan. 27. black-ish Coming to Freeform in July; TBS Sets Cast for Comedy Pilot Called Space
Reruns of the hit comedy series black-ish is joining cable network Freeform this summer. The Anthony Anderson/Tracee Ellis Ross sitcom will air Monday-Friday from 7-9 a.m. starting on Monday, July 5, 2021 replacing blocks of Melissa & Joey and Baby Daddy. The series joins other comedies on the line-up including The Middle, The Simpsons and Family Guy. This is good timing as black-ish's spin-off series grown-ish has its season premiere on Thursday, July 8 at 8 p.m. black-ish also airs on cable network FXX and in local syndication. black-ish returns for its eighth and final season on ABC in early 2022.
TBS announced that it has cast Jake Lacy (Being The Ricardos, The White Lotus, High Fidelity), Krysta Rodriguez (Halston, Daybreak, Smash), Ally Maki (TBS' Wrecked, Hacks, Toy Story 4), Caleb Hearon (Fargo, Work in Progress, staff writer for Human Resources) and Rachel Pegram (Love Life, The Week Of, staff writer for Kenan) to star in its new scripted romantic-comedy pilot, Space. Additionally, Andrew Mogel and Jarrad Paul who previously directed Miracle Workers: Dark Ages, Huge in France and The D Train have been tapped to direct and executive produce. Written and executive produced by Hilary Winston (Happy Endings, Community) and executive produced by Nick Stoller of Stoller Global Solutions, Space begins shooting in Portland in June.

Freeform Spring and Summer 2021 Updates; discovery+ Gets Back to the Future Expedition
At Freeform’s virtual TCA presentation, Walt Disney Television's young adult network announced that Single Drunk Female, from Simone Finch and Jenni Konner, has been picked up to series. The network also announced the highly anticipated series premiere of new drama Cruel Summer and unveiled a first look at the Jessica Biel produced thriller. Freeform also announced the premiere date for the critically acclaimed comedy Everything's Gonna Be Okay and unveiled key art for the new season. The newly announced premiere dates add to Freeform's slate, which includes signature hit The Bold Type, premiering this spring, and Motherland: Fort Salem, premiering this summer. Fan-favorite original series Good Trouble and grown-ish are currently airing all-new episodes and will return with additional episodes this summer, premiere dates to be announced soon.

grown-ish Returns Jan. 21 for Season 3B; Jesse Tyler Ferguson Gets Local-ish

Freeform's The Clock Is Ticking Special with Yara Shahidi; Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Ends on New Year's Eve
Freeform announced the digital series The Clock Is Ticking, starring and executive produced by Yara Shahidi (grown-ish), as part of the network's multiplatform voting initiative. The two-part digital series, which will live on Freeform's Instagram, will debut tonight (Tuesday, Oct. 27) and on Election Night on Tuesday, Nov. 3. The digital series focuses on preparing young voters for the upcoming election. From demystifying the ballot to providing helpful resources on what to expect if you plan to vote in person and even what to bring with you to the polls, including Yara's go-to snacks and her grown-ish inspired playlist, the series is a fun and informative guide to the 2020 election.
The Clock Is Ticking is part of the network's "Kick 2020 in the Ballots. FF'ing Vote" initiative, a non-partisan, multiplatform voting campaign that encourages young adults to tackle the issues affecting their lives with the most powerful weapon they possess: Their vote. The campaign also features the series Kal Penn Approves This Message, which finales tonight (Tuesday, Oct. 27) at 10:30 p.m. In the premiere episode, Yara will demystify the ballot. While completing her own ballot, she provides viewers tips to coding it like a textbook and figuring out how to connect the issues they care about to the measures they are voting on. Yara urges viewers to treat voting like the "greatest group project there is," encouraging viewers to build community through their vote. And then next week, it's election day! If you plan to head to the polls to drop off a completed ballot or vote in person, Yara will share some tips on what to bring to be prepared, including her grown-ish inspired playlist and what she packs in her bag for the trip to her polling place.

The CW Fall 2020 Premiere Dates; grown-ish All Nighter-ish Marathon
The CW Network will launch its Fall 2020 primetime schedule beginning mid-September featuring a lineup of acquired programming such as Tell Me a Story, Devils and Swamp Thing, returning original series Pandora and The Outpost as well as the highly anticipated conclusion of the long-running and beloved series Supernatural. New series World's Funniest Animals makes its debut with back-to-back episodes on Friday, September 18 (9:00-9:30pm ET/PT and 9:30-10:00pm ET/PT) following Masters of Illusion (8:00-8:30pm ET/PT and 8:30-9:00pm ET/PT). The season two premiere of the one-hour fantasy series Pandora will air Sunday, October 4 (8:00-9:00pm ET/PT). Iconic DC character Swamp Thing makes its network television debut with a special 90-minute episode on Tuesday, October 6 (8:00-9:30pm ET/PT). Freeform Announces 2020-21 Slate; Fox Brings Back Last Man Standing, Prodigal Son and The Resident for 2021
In advance of the Disney Advertising Sales Virtual Roadshow presentation, Freeform highlighted its commitment to bold and boundary-pushing young adult content with the pickups of both Everything's Gonna be Okay and Motherland: Fort Salem, as well as the recently announced scripted romantic-comedy series Love in the Time of Corona, which begins production this summer. Freeform has picked up critically acclaimed comedy Everything's Gonna Be Okay” for a second season. The series, which is created, executive produced and stars Josh Thomas, follows Nicholas, a neurotic twenty-something-year-old who is forced to raise his two teenage half-sisters, one of whom is on the autism spectrum, after the untimely death of their father. The series stars Josh Thomas, Kayla Cromer, Adam Faison and Maeve Press.
Freeform's number one comedy series grown-ish, which had its midseason finale in March, will return to the network next year to finish up season three. Starring Yara Shahidi, Trevor Jackson, Francia Raisa, Emily Arlook, Jordan Buhat, Chloe Bailey, Halle Bailey, Luka Sabbat and Diggy Simmons, grown-ish is produced by ABC Signature Studios, a part of Disney Television Studios, and executive produced by Kenya Barris, Julie Bean, Jenifer Rice-Genzuk Henry, Craig Doyle, Anthony Anderson, Laurence Fishburne, Helen Sugland and E. Brian Dobbins. From executive producers Bert V. Royal and Jessica Biel, Freeform's highly anticipated psychological thriller Cruel Summer will now debut in 2021. Olivia Holt (Marvel's Cloak & Dagger”) returns to the network to co-star in the series. The unconventional drama takes place over three summers in the '90s when a beautiful and popular teen goes missing, and a seemingly unrelated girl transforms from a sweet and awkward outlier to the most popular girl in town, eventually becoming the most despised person in America. Each episode is told from alternating POVs. The series stars Olivia Holt, Chiara Aurelia, Michael Landes, Froy Gutierrez, Harley Quinn Smith, Allius Barnes, Blake Lee and Brooklyn Sudano.
Freeform's fan-favorite series Good Trouble, which had its season two finale in March, will return to the network next year for season three. Starring Maia Mitchell, Cierra Ramirez, Sherry Cola, Tommy Martinez, Zuri Adele, Emma Hunton, Josh Pence and Beau Mirchoff, the series follows residents of Downtown Los Angeles' The Coterie as they deal with the consequences of their personal and professional decisions and realize that sometimes standing up for what you believe in comes at a price. And Freeform's limited scripted series Love in the Time of Corona, from Good Trouble's Joanna Johnson, will go into production this summer and premiere in August. This four-part romantic comedy series is a funny and hopeful look at the search for love, sex and connection during this time of social distancing. Also this summer, fan-favorite series The Bold Type returns on Thursday, June 11, at 10:00 p.m. EDT/PDT, continuing its fourth season.
Fox has renewed family comedy Last Man Standing and medical drama The Resident for the 2020-2021 season. Last Man Standing, starring Tim Allen, will enter its third season on Fox, and ninth in total. The Resident will enter its fourth season. And in late breaking news, Fox has also picked-up current freshman drama Prodigal Son starring Tom Payne for a second season in the 2020-2021 season. All three series will air sometime in 2021 as they were not announced for the Fall 2020 schedule, as most scripted series cannot resume production yet.

TCA Winter 2020 Press Tour: More Cable; 26th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards® Winners
We have all of the major updates from the TCA Winter 2020 Press Tour where more cable networks presented Fri-Sun. We'll focus on comedy news, of course. Fresh off of last week's buzzed-about season premiere, grown-ish has been picked up for a fourth season on Freeform. Starring Yara Shahidi, Trevor Jackson, Francia Raisa, Emily Arlook, Jordan Buhat, Chloe Bailey, Halle Bailey, Luka Sabbat and Diggy Simmons, the series is a contemporary take on the issues that students face in the world of higher education. Freeform's new comedy Everything's Gonna Be Okay, which The New York Times called "a charming dramedy, with an oddball voice and a bittersweet undercurrent," will have a special airing of its pilot episode on sister network FX on Wednesday (Jan. 22) at 10 p.m. EST/PST.
National Geographic Global Television Networks President announced additional season pickups of hit franchise series Brain Games, Running Wild with Bear Grylls and Life Below Zero. It was also announced that the second season of Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted will premiere on Sunday, May 10, at 10/9c on National Geographic. Family entertainment network BYUtv announced its new comedy competition series Wayne Brady's Comedy IQ, created and hosted by multiple Emmy-winning and Grammy-nominated Wayne Brady and his producing partner, Mandie Taketa. The show, which counts Queen Latifah among its executive producers, will premiere on April 6, 2020. Meanwhile, Apple announced that Central Park, an animated musical comedy from Emmy Award winner Loren Bouchard (Bob's Burgers), executive producer Josh Gad (Frozen) and executive producer Nora Smith (Bob's Burgers), will premiere exclusively on Apple TV+ this summer. Central Park is an animated musical comedy about the Tillermans, a family that lives in Central Park. Owen, the park manager, and Paige, his journalist wife, raise their kids Molly and Cole in the world's most famous park, while fending off hotel heiress Bitsy Brandenham and her long suffering assistant Helen, who would love nothing more than to turn the park into condos. The series voice cast includes Josh Gad, Leslie Odom Jr., Kristen Bell, Kathryn Hahn, Tituss Burgess, Daveed Diggs and Stanley Tucci.
Apple announced that Trying, its first original series from the UK to debut on Apple TV+, will premiere Friday, May 1 around the world. All Jason and Nikki want is a baby. But it's the one thing they just can't have. Starring Rafe Spall and Esther Smith, Trying is a new comedy series about growing up, settling down and finding someone to love. BAFTA Award winner Imelda Staunton also stars. The series, featuring eight half-hour episodes, hails from BBC Studios and is written by Andy Wolton. The new series will premiere globally on Apple TV+, a new home for the world's most creative storytellers. Apple TV+ is available on the Apple TV app on iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, iPod touch, Mac, select Samsung smart TVs, Amazon Fire TV and Roku devices, as well as at tv.apple.com, for $4.99 per month with a seven-day free trial.
