Ted Season 2 Trailer Released; Remembering T.K. Carter of Punky Brewster, TV Director Tom Cherones, and Others We Recently Lost

The trailer is out! All episodes of Ted Season 2 premiere Thursday, March 5 only on Peacock. It's 1994, and senior year of high school is underway for Ted the foul-mouthed teddy bear and his best friend, likable but awkward John Bennett. Together they live in a working-class Boston home with John's parents (Matty and Susan) and cousin (Blaire). Matty is a blustering, blue-collar Bostonian who sees himself as the unequivocal boss of the house and doesn't like anyone challenging him, particularly his liberal-minded niece. Susan is kind, selfless, and almost pathologically sweet when it comes to caring for her family. Blaire is an outspoken college student who often finds herself at odds with her more traditional-minded relatives. Starring Seth MacFarlane, Max Burkholder, Alanna Ubach, Scott Grimes, Giorgia Whigham. 8 episodes will air.

The hit comedic prequel series to the Ted films finds us in the '90s, and Ted the bear's (Seth MacFarlane) moment of fame has passed. He's now living back home in Framingham, Massachusetts with his best friend, 17-year-old John Bennett (Max Burkholder), along with John's parents, Matty and Susan (Scott Grimes and Alanna Ubach) and cousin Blaire (Giorgia Whigham). Ted may be a lousy influence on John, but at the end of the day, he's a loyal pal who's always willing to go out on a limb for friendship. Following its January 11, 2024 launch, season one of Ted broke records as Peacock's most-watched original title and was the #1 Original Streaming Comedy in the U.S. for more than two consecutive months (per Nielsen). The series was also a global hit becoming the biggest U.S. comedy launch on Sky in the UK in 15 years.

In addition to the live-action prequel series, Peacock is expanding the Ted universe with the upcoming Ted: The Animated Series (WT), which will pick up where the Ted films left off and will feature Seth MacFarlane, Mark Wahlberg, Amanda Seyfried, Jessica Barth, Kyle Mooney, and Liz Richman voicing the roles. Both series are produced by UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group, Fuzzy Door, and MRC, the latter of which also produced the original Ted films.

Actor T.K. (Thomas Kent) Carter, who starred as Mike Fulton in Punky Brewster and as Mylo Williams in Good Morning, Miss Bliss, has died. He died at his home in Duarte, California, on January 9. Mr. Carter was 69.

Carter's first starring role on television was as Shabu in the short-lived 1983 ABC sitcom Just Our Luck. Created by brothers Lawrence and Charles Gordon, it was considered a modernized version of the 1960s sitcom I Dream of Jeannie and starred Richard Gilliland as Keith Barrow, a mild-mannered TV weatherman for KPOX-TV, and Carter as a hip, fun-loving 3,000-year-old genie who is freed by Gilliland after being imprisoned in his bottle for nearly two centuries. It also starred Ellen Maxted, Rod McCary, Richard Schaal, Hamilton Camp, and Leonard Simon.

He starred as Mike Fulton in the second season (1985-1986) of the NBC sitcom Punky Brewster. Mike Fulton is a hip fourth grade elementary school teacher. He formed a close relationship with Punky and her friends, and was also portrayed as a social crusader of sorts. Carter first appeared as Mike Fulton in the final one-hour episode in Season 1, titled "Fenster Hall". It was a failed attempt to create a spin-off of Punky Brewster.

Carter starred as Mylo Williams in the 1988-1989 Disney Channel sitcom Good Morning, Miss Bliss (also known as Saved by the Bell: The Junior High Years). The series focuses on the life of junior high school teacher Miss Carrie Bliss (Hayley Mills) at John F. Kennedy Junior High in Indianapolis. Mylo Williams is a maintenance supervisor. It also starred Dennis Haskins, Joan Ryan, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Max Battimo, Dustin Diamond, Heather Hopper, and Lark Voorhies.

He starred as Clarence Hull in the 1993-1994 Fox sitcom The Sinbad Show. The series follows the life of David Bryan (Sinbad), a carefree bachelor who works as a video game designer, who becomes a single parent when he adopts two orphaned children, Zana (Erin Davis) and L.J. Beckley (Willie Norwood), who face several issues which they work through together. Clarence Hull is David's best friend and former roommate, who had to move out when the kids moved in. The cast included Nancy Williams, Hal Williams, and Salma Hayek (3 episodes in 1993).

Some of his sitcom guest appearances included Good Times (2 episodes), The Jeffersons, 227, Family Matters, A Different World, Moesha, The Gregory Hines Show, The Steve Harvey Show (4 episodes), The Nanny, Everybody Hates Chris, and Love That Girl!. He had a recurring role as Cliff in five episodes of Dave in 2023.

Carter made his acting debut in a 1976 episode of Police Woman. Some of his other television credits included Quincy, M.E. (1978), The Waltons, NYPD Blue, In Justice, How to Get Away with Murder, Saints & Sinners, Stumptown, and The Company You Keep (3 episodes as Pike). He played the role of drug addicted Gary McCullough in the 2000 HBO miniseries The Corner.

He provided the voice of Alex for the 1984 ABC animated series Turbo Teen. Some of his other voice credits included Jem, The Transformers, and What a Cartoon! (3 episodes).

Carter starred as the rollerskating chef Nauls in John Carpenter's The Thing (1982). Some of his other film credits included Corvette Summer (1978), Seems Like Old Times (1980), Southern Comfort (1981), Doctor Detroit (1983), Runaway Train (1985), Ski Patrol (1989), and Space Jam (1996).

Mr. Carter was a talented and funny actor. He was known for his comedic performances in around 70 television series and films. We thank him for the laughs and entertainment that he brought us in his career. He will be greatly missed.

Emmy-winning television director and producer Tom Cherones, who worked on Seinfeld, Ellen and NewsRadio, has died. He died of complications from Alzheimer's disease at his home in Florence, Oregon, on January 5. Mr. Cherones was 86.

Cherones was best known for his work on the NBC sitcom Seinfeld, where he directed 80 of the 86 episodes of the first five seasons. For his work directing the series, he won a Directors Guild of America Award and a Primetime Emmy Award as producer in 1993. He appeared uncredited as the fictional director on the 'Jerry' set in "The Pilot" and as Man in Coffee Shop in "The Finale" in 1998.

He directed 23 episodes of Ellen from 1994 to 1995 and 57 episodes of NewsRadio from 1996 to 1999. Some of his other sitcom directing credits included My Sister Sam, Just in Time, Annie McGuire, Boston Common, Caroline in the City (9 episodes), The Faculty (3 episodes), Men Behaving Badly, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Ladies Man, Oh, Grow Up (5 episodes), and The Pitts.

Some of his producing credits included The Roller Girls (4 episodes), The Two of Us, Maggie (1982), Amanda's, Growing Pains (10 episodes), My Sister Sam (4 episodes), Just in Time (5 episodes), Annie McGuire, and Seineld (82 episodes from 1990 to 1994). He worked as a unit manager on Welcome Back, Kotter from 1976 to 1977.

He was interviewed for The Interviews: An Oral History of Television on June 6, 2011.

Mr. Cherones directed nearly 200 sitcom episodes. Several of his Seinfeld episodes are considered highlights of the series, including "The Chinese Restaurant," "The Parking arage," and "The Contest," with the latter featured in rankings of the greatest television episodes of all time. We thank him for his work on television. He will be sorely missed.

We also remember cartoonist Scott Adams. He served as executive producer and showrunner for the animated sitcom Dilbert. He died following a battle with prostate cancer at his home in Pleasanton, California, on January 13. Mr. Adams was 68.

He developed and served as executive producer and showrunner, along with Seinfeld writer Larry Charles, for the 1999-2000 animated sitcom Dilbert. The series is an adaptation of the comic strip of the same name. It follows the adventures of a middle-aged white-collar office worker, named Dilbert, who is extremely intelligent in regards to all things that fall within the boundaries of electrical engineering. It won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Main Title Design in 1999. The voice cast included Daniel Stern, Chris Elliott, Larry Miller, Gordon Hunt, Kathy Griffin, Jackie Hoffman, Jason Alexander, and Tom Kenny.

Mr. Adams received recognition for his work, including the National Cartoonists Society Reuben Award and Newspaper Comic Strip Award for 1997 for his work on Dilbert. We thank him for his work on Dilbert, which he created in 1989. He will be missed.

Composer Guy Moon worked on the 2009-2013 Nickelodeon sitcom Big Time Rush. On January 8, he was hit by a vehicle while riding a scooter in Wilmington, California. He died of traumatic injuries at the scene. Mr. Moon was 63.

Moon's sitcom composer credits included Square Pegs (4 episodes), Baby Boom, The Famous Teddy Z, Man of the People, California Dreams, Movie Stars, Big Time Rush (69 episodes), Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide, and 100 Things to Do Before High School.

Some of his animated composer credits included The Addams Family (1992-1993), 2 Stupid Dogs, The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest, Cow and Chicken, The Fairly OddParents, Danny Phantom, Back at the Barnyard, and Johnny Test.

Mr. Moon received four Emmy nominations for his work on The Fairly OddParents. We thank him for the music. He will be sorely missed.

Actress Marcia Rodd starred in The Dumplings, 13 Queens Boulevard, and The Four Seasons (1984). She died on December 27, 2025. Ms. Rodd was 87.

Rodd starred as Stephanie in the short-lived 1976 NBC sitcom The Dumplings. Joe (James Coco) and Angela Dumpling (Geraldine Brooks) are a very happily married and overweight couple who are very much in love with each other and with life, never have a bad thing to say about one another, and exude good cheer and enthusiasm. Stephanie is Angela's sister. The series also starred George S. Irving, George Furth, Mort Marshall, Jane Connell, and Wil Albert.

She starred as Elaine Dowling in the short-lived 1979 ABC sitcom 13 Queens Boulevard. The series was about the diverse residents of a Queens apartment complex. The major residents of the complex were Felicia and Steven Winters (Eileen Brennan and Jerry Van Dyke) who have been happily married for over 15 years. Elaine Dowling is a divorcee who was Felicia's best friend. It also starred Helen Page Camp, Susan Elliot, Louise Williams, Karen Rushmore, and Frances Lee McCain.

Rodd starred as Claudia Zimmer in the short-lived 1984 CBS sitcom The Four Seasons. The series was based on the 1981 film The Four Seasons, which was written and directed by and starred Alan Alda. It also Jack Weston, Tony Roberts, Barbara Babcock, Allan Arbus, Joanna Kerns, Beatrice Alda, Elizabeth Alda, and Lori Carrell.

Some of her sitcom guest appearances included The New Dick Van Dyke Show, All in the Family (2 episodes), Good Heavens, Phyllis, All's Fair, Maude, M*A*S*H, Archie Bunker's Place, Maggie (1981), Laverne & Shirley, Night Court (1984), Gimme a Break!, Off the Rack, Too Close for Comfort, New Love, American Style (2 episodes), Empty Nest, Open House, Doogie Howser, M.D., and Home Improvement.

She had a recurring role as E.J. Riverside in 14 episodes of Trapper John, M.D. from 1980 to 1986. She had a recurring role as Alice Kovacs in four episodes of Flamingo Road in 1981. Some of her other television credits included Medical Center (2 episodes), Barnaby Jones, Quincy, M.E. (1979), Insight (2 episodes), Bret Maverick, Lou Grant (2 episodes), Highway to Heaven (1985), Murder, She Wrote (2 episodes), 21 Jump Street (3 episodes), Hunter, Renegade, Sisters, ER, Family Law (3 episodes), Without a Trace, The Young and the Restless (2 episodes), Grey's Anatomy, and Hunters.

Rodd made her film debut in Alan Arkin's 1971 film Little Murders. She received acclaim for her role as Portland Angel in Jonathan Demme's Handle with Care (1977). She was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical in 1973 for her performance as Maud in the musical Shelter.

Ms. Rodd was a talented and versatile actress. She played the role Maude's daughter Carol Traynor in the pilot episode of Maude. The role was eventually played by Adrienne Barbeau in the series after Rodd opted out to pursue theatre. She also played Ann's upstairs neighbor in the unsold pilot for One Day at a Time when it was called Three to Get Ready. We thank her for her work on television and in films. She will be deeply missed.

Character actor Richard Dimitri starred as the twin characters Bertram and Renaldo in When Things Were Rotten. He died in Los Angeles on December 18, 2025. Mr. Dimitri was 83.

Dimitri played the dual roles of twins Bertram and Renaldo in the short-lived 1975 ABC sitcom When Things Were Rotten. The series was created by Mel Brooks and set in 1197 as a parody of the Robin Hood legend. The series starred Dick Gautier as the handsome and heroic Robin Hood. It also starred Dick Van Patten, Bernie Kopell, Henry Polic II, Misty Rowe, David Sabin, and Ron Rifkin.

Some of his sitcom guest appearances included Welcome Back, Kotter (1976), Trying Times, and Hearts Afire. He starred as Frank Topo in the 1977 NBC miniseries Seventh Avenue. Some of his other television credits included Starsky and Hutch, Hawaii Five-O (3 episodes in 1978 and 1979), and Tenspeed and Brown Shoe.

He starred as Troy Lassiter in The World's Greatest Lover (1977), as Roman Troy Moronie in Johnny Dangerously (1984), and as Tony Cheeseburger in Let It Ride (1989).

Mr. Dimitri was a talented character actor. He later worked as an art and antiques dealer. He will be greatly missed.

ABC has renewed powerhouse Grey's Anatomy for a 21st season for 2024-25 season. Apple TV+ Winter Slate with Peanuts and Fraggle Rock Specials; Remembering Joyce Randolph of The Honeymooners

Apple TV+ unveiled an exciting winter programming slate for kids and families, featuring brand new Peanuts content as well as returning fan-favorite and critically acclaimed series. Launching February 16, the new Peanuts special, Snoopy Presents: Welcome Home, Franklin, uncovers the origin story of one of Peanuts' most beloved characters and how he ultimately makes friends with Charlie Brown and the gang. Acclaimed series also returning this winter includes the second season of the award-winning series, Sago Mini Friends, debuting January 26, and season two of the iconic and Emmy Award-winning series from The Jim Henson Company, Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock, debuting March 29, as Tony and Grammy Award winner, and Emmy Award nominee Daveed Diggs (Hamilton) returns for season two alongside Academy Award winner Ariana DeBose (Schmigadoon!), Emmy Award winner Brett Goldstein (Ted Lasso) and Emmy Award winner Catherine O'Hara (Schitt's Creek) in guest star roles.

Actress Joyce Randolph, who was best known for playing Trixie Norton on The Honeymooners, has died. She died in her sleep of natural causes at home in Manhattan's Upper West Side on January 13. Ms. Randolph was 99.

Randolph originally portrayed Trixie Norton on The Jackie Gleason Show in 1952 on CBS. She played the character in skits from 1952 to 1957. She starred as Trixie Norton in the 1955-1956 CBS sitcom The Honeymooners. The series follows the lives of New York City bus driver Ralph Kramden (Jackie Gleason), his wife Alice (Audrey Meadows), Ralph's best friend Ed Norton (Art Carney) and Ed's wife Trixie as they get involved with various schemes in their day-to-day living. Randolph did not appear in every episode and had a less developed character, though she is shown to be somewhat bossy toward her husband.

In 1991, Randolph and Meadows reprised their roles in the episode "Fur Flies" of the ABC sitcom Hi Honey, I'm Home. Some of her other television guest appearances included Rocky King, Detective (1950), Buck Rogers, Famous Jury Trials, The Clock, The Plainclothesman (5 episodes) and The Doctors and the Nurses. On Broadway, she appeared in Ladies Night in a Turkish Bath (1950).

She was interviewed for The Interviews: An Oral History of Television on October 27, 1999.

Ms. Randolph did a wonderful job playing Trixie Norton. She was the last surviving cast member of The Honeymooners. We thank her for the laughs and entertainment that she brought us. She will be deeply missed.

Actor Peter Crombie, who had a recurring role as Crazy Joe Davola in Seinfeld, has died. He died after a brief illness on January 10 in Palm Springs, California. Mr. Crombie was 71.

Crombie appeared as Crazy Joe Davola in five episodes in the fourth season (1992-1993) of the NBC sitcom Seinfeld. Crazy Joe Davola is a writer who suffers from mental problems. He stalks Jerry and dates Elaine. Depressed that Elaine rejected him, he dressed up as the clown from the opera Pagliacci and beats up several street toughs who antagonize him. The name was used with the consent of Fox TV executive, Joe "Lennard" Davola.

Some of his other sitcom guest appearances included Perfect Strangers, The John Larroquette Show, Get Smart (1995) and Grace Under Fire.

He appeared as Norman Minter in five episodes of the 1996 Fox drama L.A. Firefighters. Some of his other television guest appearances included Leg Work, Spenser: For Hire, Law & Order, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Diagnosis: Murder, L.A. Law, Picket Fences, Profiler, NYPD Blue and Walker, Texas Ranger.

Some of his film credits included Born on the Fourth of July (1989), The Doors (1991), Natural Born Killers (1994), Se7en (1995) and My Dog Skip (2000).

Mr. Crombie did a great job portraying one of the more memorable Seinfeld side characters. We thank him for his work on television and in films. He will be greatly missed.

We also remember German actor Christian Oliver. He starred as Brian Keller in Saved by the Bell: The Class. Oliver and his two daughters, Madita and Annik, were killed on January 4 after the four-seater private plane they were on crashed off the coast of Bequia, a Caribbean island in the Grenadines. Everyone on board, including the American pilot, Robert Sachs, was killed on impact. Mr. Oliver was 51.

Oliver starred as Brian Keller in the second season (1994) of the NBC sitcom Saved by the Bell: The New Class. It aired as a part of the network's TNBC Saturday morning line-up. Brian Keller is is a new transfer student from Switzerland. He is interested in Rachel Meyers (Sarah Lancaster), and he is also a schemer.

He appeared in a 2005 episode of The Comeback. Some of his television guest appearances included Sliders, V.I.P., Crossing Lines, Timeless and Hunters (5 episodes).

Some of his film credits included The Good German (2006), Speed Racer (2008) and Valkyrie (2008).

Mr. Oliver was known to German audiences for his role as Jan Richter in the action series Alarm für Cobra 11 – Die Autobahnpolizei from 2002 until 2004. We thank him for his work on television and in films. He will be missed.

Actress Cindy Morgan was best known for playing Lacey Underall in Caddyshack and Lora/Yori in Tron. She was found dead of natural causes at her home in Lake Worth Beach, Florida, on December 30, 2023. Ms. Morgan was 69.

Morgan's sitcom guest appearances included The Love Boat, Tough Cookies, Beverly Hills Buntz, She's the Sheriff, Harry and the Hendersons and The Larry Sanders Show.

She starred as Gloria Marlowe in the 1982-1983 CBS adventure series Bring 'Em Back Alive, which also starred Bruce Boxleitner. She had a recurring role as Gabrielle Short in 15 episodes in seasons six and seven of the CBS prime time soap opera Falcon Crest from 1987 to 1988.

Some of her other television guest appearances included Vega$, CHiPs (3 episodes), Hawaiian Heat, Masquerade, The Fall Guy, Crazy Like a Fox, Amazing Stories, The Highwayman, Matlock (3 episodes), Mancuso, FBI (1990), Hunter (2 episodes) and Under Suspicion.

Ms. Morgan was a talented and lovely actress in the 1980s. We thank her for work on television and in films. She will be sorely missed.

Paramount Media Networks Holiday Marathons; Kevin James Gets Prime Video Special

Paramount Media Networks announced a festive and fun programming slate for the holidays beginning today - December 20, 2023 and is scheduled to air across Paramount Media Networks (MTV, CMT, Comedy Central, Paramount Network, Smithsonian Channel and TV Land). Audiences can get into the holiday spirit with holiday films from Love Actually to Scrooged as well as marathons of beloved series such as The Office, Seinfeld, South Park, and The Daily Show. Viewers can also catch Yellowstone - TV's #1 show - during the week-long Yellowstone marathon. Comedy Central will have marathons of The Office, Seinfeld, Parks & Recreation, South Park, Futurama, The Cleveland Show, and The Daily Show and more. Critically acclaimed actor and comedian Kevin James is set to release his first comedy special for Prime Video, Kevin James: Irregardless. The one-hour special will premiere in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide on January 23, 2024. The highly anticipated, family-friendly special Kevin James: Irregardless delivers a hilariously unfiltered take on parenting, marriage, and getting older. As only James can, he covers a range of topics, from motivating children to put down their video games, to why he doesn't trust technology, and how many Tater Tots he can fit in his mouth! James began his career as a stand-up in the Long Island comedy scene. After being discovered at the Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal, he signed a network development deal to create his own sitcom, The King of Queens. The series ran for nine seasons on CBS with James starring and executive producing, and garnered him an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. James brought his stand-up act to TV with Sweat the Small Stuff, a one-hour special for Comedy Central. His second comedy special, Never Don't Give Up, premiered on Netflix to critical acclaim.

ABC Fall 2022 Premiere Dates; Remembering Philip Baker Hall, Lt. Bookman on Seinfeld

ABC has set fall premiere dates for its new and returning series for the upcoming 2022-2023 season, including new female-led dramas Alaska Daily (formerly known as Alaska) and The Rookie: Feds as well as the newest primetime game show Celebrity Jeopardy! Return dates have also been set for critically acclaimed comedy breakout Abbott Elementary, and fan favorites Bachelor in Paradise and Grey's Anatomy. ABC's No. 1 comedy last season in Adults 18-49, Quinta Brunson-helmed Abbott Elementary, returns on its new night, Wednesday, Sept. 21 (9:00-9:31 p.m. EDT), joining network comedy staples The Conners (8:00-8:30 p.m. EDT), The Goldbergs (8:30-9:00 p.m. EDT) and Home Economics (9:31-10:00 p.m. EDT) for a laugh-filled evening. Then, Reba McEntire and Jensen Ackles step into the world of Big Sky on its new night, bringing with them a new mystery to unravel as the mercurial matriarch of an established local family and the new sheriff in town, respectively. The first-ever live episode of Shark Tank, featuring all six original Sharks, swims into the weekend Friday, Sept. 21. 23 (8:00-9:01 p.m. EDT). A new season of ABC News' 20/20 (9:01-11:00 p.m. EDT) follows.

Sundays on ABC are synonymous with family fun as Hollywood stars test their knowledge with the ultimate game of trivia on Celebrity Jeopardy! (8:00-9:00 p.m. EDT), debuting Sept. 25, and followed by the return of Celebrity Wheel of Fortune (9:00-10:00 p.m. EDT). The evening culminates with The Rookie (10:00-11:00 p.m. EDT), and AFV joins the Sunday lineup a week later on Oct. 2 (7:00-8:00 p.m. EDT). Summer may have ended, but romance awaits as Bachelor in Paradise turns up the heat on Tuesday, Sept. 27 (8:00-10:00 p.m. EDT), followed by the debut of The Rookie spinoff series, The Rookie: Feds, starring Niecy Nash-Betts (10:00-11:00 p.m. EDT). The search for love continues as BIP begins its two-night weekly run on Monday, Oct. 3 (8:00-10:00 p.m. EDT), preceding the return of hit drama The Good Doctor, which hits 100 episodes this season. And finally, Alaska Daily (10:01-11:00 p.m. EDT), from Oscar®-winning writer Tom McCarthy (Spotlight) and starring two-time Oscar winner Hilary Swank, joins Station 19 (8:00-9:00 p.m. EDT) and TV's longest-running primetime medical drama, Grey's Anatomy (9:00-10:01 p.m. EDT), on Thursday, Oct. 6. Additional premiere dates for the 2022-2023 season will be announced at a later date.

Character actor Philip Baker Hall, who played Lt. Joe Bookman on Seinfeld, has died. He died of emphysema at his home in Glendale, California, on June 12. Mr. Hall was 90.

Hall's early sitcom guest appearances included Good Times, M*A*S*H, It's a Living, Benson and Bagdad Cafe. He appeared as Dr. Harrison in the 1988 three-part Family Ties episode "Heartstrings," in which Steven Keaton has a heart attack and has to undergo heart surgery.

He played Lt. Joe Bookman, a detective pursuing a long-overdue library book, in the Seinfeld episode "The Library." It aired in the third season on October 16, 1991. Jerry learns he has a library fine from 1971, for the then-controversial book Tropic of Cancer, and that the "case" has been turned over to the library investigations officer, Lt. Bookman. Hall reprised the role in "The Finale," which aired on May 14, 1998.

Hall starred as Russ McDonald on the 2006-2007 Fox sitcom The Loop. The show starred Bret Harrison as Sam Sullivan, a young professional trying to balance the needs of his social life with the pressures of working at the corporate headquarters of TransAlliance Airways, a major U.S. airline. Russ McDonald is head executive of TransAlliance Airways and one of Sam's bosses. The series also starred Joy Osmanski, Amanda Loncar, Mimi Rogers, Sarah Mason (Sarah Wright) and Eric Christian Olsen.

He appeared as crotchety neighbor Walt Kleezak in three episodes of Modern Family in 2011 and 2012. Some of his other sitcom guest appearances included Nurses, Cheers, Bob, Empty Nest, The Good Life, Madman of the People, Life's Work, The John Larroquette Show, 3rd Rock from the Sun, Worst Week (2 episodes), Curb Your Enthusiam (2 episodes as Dr. Morrison), True Jackson, VP (2009), Childrens Hospital and Corporate.

Hall played Ed Meyers in 13 episodes of the ninth and final season (1989-1990) of the CBS prime time soap opera Falcon Crest. He starred as William Vaughn on the 1997-1998 CBS legal drama Michael Hayes. He played George Reese Greeley on the short-lived 2001 Fox prime time soap opera Pasadena. In 2016, he appeared as Old Jimmy Pritchad in five episodes of the Fox science fiction crime drama Second Chance. He had a recurring role as Zelman Katz on the 2020 Netflix thriller Messiah.

Some of his television drama guest appearances included Emergency!, The Waltons, McClain's Law, Quincy, M.E. (2 episodes), Cagney & Lacey, T.J. Hooker, Lottery, Hardcastle and McCormick, Miami Vice, Matlock, Murder, She Wrote (1991), L.A. Law, Equal Justice, Dark Justice, Civil Wars (3 episodes), Roswell, Chicago Hope, The Practice (4 episodes as Judge Joseph Vinocour), Millenium (2 episodes), L.A. Doctors, The Fugitive (2000), Without a Trace, Everwood, Monk, Boston Legal, The West Wing (2 episodes), Psych and Madam Secretary.

Hall starred in the Paul Thomas Anderson films Hard Eight (1996), Boogie Nights (1997) and Magnolia (1999). Some of his other film credits included Secret Honor (1984), Nothing in Common (1986), Midnight Run (1988), Say Anything... (1989), Ghostbusters II (1989), The Rock (1996), The Truman Show (1998), Rush Hour (1998), The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999), The Insider (1999), The Contender (2000), Dogville (2003), Bruce Almighty (2003), Duck (2005), Zodiac (2007), 50/50 (2011) and Argo (2012).

Survivors include his wife Holly Wolfle, four children, four grandchildren and a brother.

Mr. Hall was a fantastic character actor. His guest appearance as Lt. Bookman on Seinfeld was one of the funniest and most memorable of the series. It led to many other jobs for him. He didn't start acting until he was 30 years old, but he had over 200 TV and film credits during his long career. We thank him for the laughs and entertainment he brought us. He will be greatly missed.

Seinfeld Joins Nick at Nite on Memorial Day; New Netflix Series Tops Weekly Chart

Nick at Nite will quietly add Seinfeld to its nighttime lineup airing weeknights from 2am-4am. It will air in between blocks of Friends and Mike & Molly. Mom will be moving back to TV Land starting next week.

Seinfeld already airs on Viacom-owned Comedy Central. No other timeslots have been added just yet on Nick at Nite, but that could change if it does well next week. Nick at Nite will begin with the third episode "The Robbery," where George (Jason Alexander) persuades Jerry (Jerry Seinfeld) to get a new apartment---but it's the one George wants.

The verdict is in. The Lincoln Lawyer topped the English TV list with a whopping 108.09M hours viewed, making it the most viewed title of the week. Starring Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, the drama made the Top 10 in 90 countries. In advance of the highly anticipated return of Season 4, Vol. 1, Stranger Things Season 1 entered the list with 9.49M hours viewed. Ozark Season 4 came in at #2 with 31.4M hours viewed, appearing in 50 countries. Starring Jason Bateman and Laura Linney, the series also jumped into the 9th spot on the Most Popular list with 480.85M hours viewed. Boss Baby: Back in the Crib brought the entire family together. The animated series debuted in third place with 16.52M hours viewed. Emmy-winning Love, Death + Robots' third volume returned with 14.42M hours viewed. The animated anthology cracked the Top 10 in 28 countries. Remaining on the list for a second week in a row was The Circle Season 4 (15.44M hours viewed), Bling Empire Season 2 (15.23M hours viewed), Bridgerton Season 2 (13.66M hours viewed), Workin' Moms Season 6 (12.74M hours viewed) and Savage Beauty (11.39M hours viewed).

black-ish Finale Celebration This Tuesday; Remembering Liz Sheridan of ALF and Seinfeld

Since its debut in 2014, the award-winning ABC hit comedy show black-ish has entertained and educated millions of viewers. The series brought audiences inside the difficult conversations and lived experiences many Black families have in America through the comedic lens of the Johnson family. A new ABC News special profiles the making of the groundbreaking show and explores the profound impact it had on society as it concludes its eighth and final season. The special features interviews with the show's all-star cast, including Anthony Anderson, Tracee Ellis Ross, Marsai Martin, Yara Shahidi, Miles Brown, Marcus Scribner, Laurence Fishburne, Jenifer Lewis and Deon Cole - as well as an exclusive look at the final table read and the cast's original audition tapes. black-ish: A Celebration reflects on some of the show's most important episodes, covering topics ranging from Juneteenth to postpartum depression. black-ish stars and guest stars such as Aloe Blacc also discuss their experience working on set, the comedic genius of the show and how they feel about the series ending. The finale airs at 9pm, right before the special. In the finale, as Pops and Ruby prepare to move away, Dre and Bow consider if they should make a big life change as well. Grappling with this idea at work, Dre receives some unexpected advice from Simone Biles, who tells him to follow his heart. The Johnsons prepare for their goodbyes in the series finale.

Actress Liz Sheridan, who was best known for her roles as Raquel Ochmonek on ALF and as Helen Seinfeld on Seinfeld, has died. She died on April 15 at her home in Manhattan, five days after her 93rd birthday.

Sheridan had a recurring role as nosy neighbor Raquel Ochmonek on the 1986-1990 NBC sitcom ALF. Raquel and Trevor Ochmonek (John LaMotta) are the dense neighbors of the Tanner family who never figured out what was going on. Jake Ochmonek (Josh Blake, Seasons 2-3) is their nephew. Sheridan was credited on 34 episodes of the series. The cast of ALF included Paul Fusco (voice only), Max Wright, Anne Schedeen, Andrea Elson, Benji Gregory and Jim J. Bullock (Season 4).

She had a recurring role as Helen Seinfeld on the 1989-1998 NBC sitcom Seinfeld. Helen Seinfeld is Jerry's (Jerry Seinfeld) overprotective mother. She is married to Morty Seinfeld (Barney Martin - Morty was first played by Phil Bruns in the second episode). Sheridan guest starred on 34 episodes of the series from 1990 to 1998. She was the only secondary character to appear in all nine seasons.

Some of her other sitcom guest appearances included Archie Bunker's Place, Gimme a Break!, Oh Madeline, One Day at a Time, Three's a Crowd, It's Your Move, Newhart, Brothers, Who's the Boss?, Easy Street, Throb, Family Ties, It's a Living, Good Grief, Herman's Head, Empty Nest (2 episodes), Tom, Blossom, Double Rush, Cleghorne! (2 episodes) and Complete Savages. She provided the voice of Mrs. Stillman for seven episodes of the Fox animated series Life with Louie from 1994 to 1997. She was the voice of Mrs. Rothberg for a 2007 episode of American Dad!.

She appeared as Nurse Greta Bayley on three episodes of Santa Barbara in 1985. Some of her other television drama guest appearances included Kojak, The White Shadow, Tucker's Witch, St. Elsewhere, Scarecrow and Mrs. King, Riptide, Moonlighting, The A-Team (2 episodes), Hill Street Blues, Remington Steele, Cagney & Lacey, Equal Justice, Murder, She Wrote (1991), Melrose Place, Sliders, Noah Knows Best and Numb3rs.

Sheridan starred as Edna Gordon in the 2009 feature film Play the Game, a romantic comedy about a widowed grandfather (Andy Griffith) who learns dating tricks from his serial romancer of a grandson (Paul Campbell). Doris Roberts played Rose Sherman. It was Andy Griffith's final film credit.

She started out in show business as a dancer. She was reportedly engaged to James Dean in 1952. In 2000, she wrote wrote a book, Dizzy & Jimmy: My Life with James Dean: A Love Story, chronicling their time together in the early 1950s. She appeared on stage in plays and musicals on Broadway, co-starring with Meryl Streep and Christopher Lloyd in the 1977 musical, Happy End, before moving to Los Angeles.

Ms. Sheridan was a talented and funny actress. Helen Seinfeld was one of TV's sweetest and nicest moms. Sheridan appeared in over a dozen feature films and 60 television movies, mini-series and series. We thank her for the laughs and entertainment that she brought us during her career. She will be deeply missed.

It's been a sad past two weeks for Seinfeld fans. Estelle Harris, who played Estelle Costanza (George's mother), died on April 2.

Remembering Estelle Harris of Seinfeld and Barrie Youngfellow of It's a Living; Impractical Jokers Returns in June with Celebrity Guests

Actress Estelle Harris, who was best known for her role as Estelle Costanza on Seinfeld, has died. She died of natural causes on April 2 at her home in Palm Desert, California. Ms. Harris was 93.

Harris had a supporting role as Estelle Costanza on the 1989-1998 NBC sitcom Seinfeld. She was credited on 27 episodes from 1992 to 1998. Estelle Costanza is George's (Jason Alexander) highly obnoxious and melodramatic mother. She constantly squabbles with Frank (Jerry Stiller) and George about their actions but is the closest thing to reason in the Costanza household. The cast included Jerry Seinfeld, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Michael Richards.

She played Ronnie Cohen on five episodes of the first season of the 1993-1994 CBS sitcom Good Advice. Ronnie Cohen is a receptionist at an office. She is the mother of Artie Cohen (George Wyner). The cast included Shelley Long, Treat Williams, Ross Malinger, Lightfield Lewis, Teri Garr (1994) and Henriette Mantel (1994).

Harris had a recurring role as Muriel on 14 episodes of the 2005-2008 Disney Channel sitcom The Suite Life of Zack & Cody. Muriel is the saucy hotel maid who conceals her goodly nature beneath a veneer of acidic sarcasm, and spends more time sneaking in naps and robbing guests of loose change than doing any actual cleaning. The cast included Cole Sprouse, Dylan Sprouse, Brenda Song, Ashley Tisdale, Phill Lewis and Kim Rhodes.

She played Nana on 12 episodes of the 2012 web comedy series Greetings from Home. The cast included Dash Mihok, Missi Pyle, Evie Thompson, Hudson Thames, Nicole Randall Johnson, Kristina Sexton, Cherilyn Wilson and Skyler Stone.

Some of her sitcom guest appearances included Night Court (3 episodes as Easy Mary), Married with Children, Brooklyn Bridge, Mad About You, In the House, Moesha, Living Single, Cybill, The Parkers, Sabrina, the Teenage Witch (2001), Half & Half, Regular Joe, Phil of the Future (voice), iCarly, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Sonny with a Chance, Retired at 35, Are You There, Chelsea? (2 episodes) and The Exes.

Some of her other television guest appearances included Law & Order, Chicago Hope, Fallen Angels, Star Trek: Voyager, Sunset Beach (3 episodes), Providence and ER.

Harris was known for her exaggerated shrill, grating voice. She was the voice of Mrs. Potato Head in the Toy Story franchise in Toy Story 2 (1999), Toy Story 3 (2010) and Toy Story 4 (2019). In 2005, she lent her voice to Mama Gunda in Tarzan II. She was the voice of Lula on the 2004-2005 Disney Channel animated series Dave the Barbarian. Some of her other voice credits included Aladdin (1995), The Tick (1996), Hercules, The Wild Thornberrys, The Brothers Flub, Family Guy, House of Mouse, The Proud Family, Kim Possible, American Dad!, Futurama and Captain Jake and the Never Land Pirates.

She is survived by her three children, as well as three grandsons and a great-grandson. Her husband Sy died on January 11, 2021.

Ms. Harris was hilarious as Estelle Costanza. She was perfectly cast in the role. It's surprising that she appeared on only 27 Seinfeld episodes. Her appearances were always so funny and memorable. We thank her for the laughs and entertainment she brought us during her career. She will be deeply missed.

Actress Barrie Youngfellow, who starred as Jan Hoffmeyer Gray on It's a Living, has died. She died on March 28. She called Woodstock, New York, her home since 1989. Ms. Youngfellow was 75.

Youngfellow starred as Dr. Gloria Manners on the short-lived 1978 ABC sitcom A.E.S. Hudson Street. The series, which ran for five episodes, follows the antics of the staff of a run-down Ambulance Emergency Service hospital on Hudson Street, on the lower west side of Manhattan. The cast included Gregory Sierra, Rosana DeSoto, Stefan Gierasch, Susan Peretz, Ralph Manza, Ray Stewart, Bill Cort and Allan Miller.

She starred as sharp-tongued and sarcastic waitress Jan Hoffmeyer Gray on the 1980-1982 ABC and 1985-1989 first-run syndicated sitcom It's a Living. The show follows the lives of the waitresses at the posh restaurant Above the Top, located at the top of the Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles, California. Jan is a single mom who later marries Richie Gray (Richard Kline). The cast included Marian Mercer, Susan Sullivan (1980-1981), Gail Edwards, Wendy Schaal (1980-1981), Ann Jillian (1980-1986), Paul Kreppel, Bert Remsen (1980-1981), Louise Lasser (1981-1982), Earl Boen (1981-1982), Crystal Bernard (1985-1989), Richard Stahl (1985-1989) and Sheryl Lee Ralph (1986-1989).

She played Barbara Russo, Blossom Russo's (Mayim Bialik) mother, on the 1990 pilot episode of Blossom. She did not continue with the project when NBC picked it up as a regular series.

Some of her sitcom guest appearances included The New Temperatures Rising Show, Carter Country, Barney Miller (2 episodes), WKRP in Cincinnati, The Jeffersons, Three's Company, Good Time Harry and It Takes Two. She was a frequent guest on Fernwood 2 Night as Linda Barry.

Some of her other television guest appearances included The Streets of San Francisco, Police Woman, Emergency!, Trapper John, M.D. (2 episodes), Murder, She Wrote (1989) and Law & Order.

She was married to her husband of 39 years, stage and screen actor Sam Freed, who was almost as important to her as her dogs and cats. She is also survived by her sister Heide Rivchun of Cleveland and her sister Kim Rivchun of Providence, Rhode Island.

Ms. Youngfellow had a unique appeal among actresses of the late 1970s and 1980s. She was one of only four cast members who appeared on all six seasons of It's a Living. We thank her for her work on It's a Living and her other television roles. She will be greatly missed.
