NBC Renews Night Court for Season 2; CBS and Fox Pick Up Dramas for 2023-24

NBC has renewed its hit comedy series Night Court for a second season. Night Court has reached 25.7 million total viewers across all viewing platforms since its Jan. 17 premiere. #1 broadcast premiere of the 2022-23 season in both the 18-49 demo and total viewers. #1 comedy premiere of the 2022-23 season on broadcast or cable in the 18-49 demo and total viewers. Highest total viewers for any comedy premiere since The Conners on ABC in 2018 and the best comedy premiere on NBC since Will & Grace in 2017. Highest 18-49 demo for a comedy premiere since Young Rock in 2021. Season-high performance of any NBC series episode this season in both the demo and total viewers.
Unapologetic optimist judge Abby Stone, the daughter of the late Harry Stone, follows in her father's footsteps as she presides over the night shift of a Manhattan arraignment court and tries to bring order to its crew of oddballs and cynics, most notably former night court prosecutor Dan Fielding. The cast includes Melissa Rauch, John Larroquette, India de Beaufort, Kapil Talwalkar and Lacretta.
A pair of dramas were also picked-up for new seasons in 2023-24. CBS announced that it has renewed the hit drama So Help Me Todd for the 2023-2024 season. The series stars Academy Award winner Marcia Gay Harden, Skylar Astin, Madeline Wise, Tristen J. Winger, Inga Schlingmann and Rosa Arredondo. Scott Prendergast, Elizabeth Klaviter, Dr. Phil McGraw, Stuart Gillard, Jay McGraw and Julia Eisenman serve as executive producers. Thr series airs Thursdays, (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network and live and on demand on Paramount+.
FOX Entertainment has renewed the gripping character-driven drama The Cleaning Lady for a third season, it was announced today by Michael Thorn, President of Scripted Programming, FOX Entertainment. Co-produced by Warner Bros. Television and FOX Entertainment Studios, the series is FOX's first live-action scripted renewal for the 2023-24 season. Jeannine Renshaw has joined the show as an executive producer and will serve as showrunner with Miranda Kwok. In the riveting Season Two finale, THONY (Élodie Yung) was confronted by FBI Agent GARRETT MILLER (Oliver Hudson) about ARMAN's (Adan Canto) part in MAYA's (Chelsea Frei) death, while NADIA (Eva De Dominici) tries to stay on ROBERT KAMDAR's (Naveen Andrews) good side. Despite being warned to stay clear of Kamdar, Thony decides to take matters into her own hands to protect FIONA (Martha Millan) and ensure the safety of her family. The series also stars Sean Lew as CHRIS, Faith Bryant as JAZ and Sebastien & Valentino LeSalle as LUCA.
