Apple TV Comedy Brothers Details; Jimmy Kimmel Live! Summer Guest Hosts

Apple TV announced that its new eight-episode comedy, Brothers, will make its global debut on Wednesday, September 23 with the first two episodes, followed by one new episode every Wednesday through November 4, 2026. Starring and executive produced by Academy Award winner Matthew McConaughey and Academy Award nominee Woody Harrelson, and produced by Paramount Television Studios, Brothers is showrun and executive produced by multi-Emmy Award nominee and Peabody Award winner Lee Eisenberg.

Brothers follows McConaughey and Harrelson, who play fictionalized versions of themselves, and whose lifelong friendship is thrown into chaos when they uncover a decades-old secret: they might actually be brothers. After Woody's daughter's wedding falls apart, he loads up the family and heads to Austin for an extended stay at Matthew's ranch. But what begins as a healing getaway quickly spirals when Matthew's mother, Ma Mac (played by Holland Taylor), accidentally lets slip a long-buried secret that the two friends might actually be brothers. As Woody turns the ranch upside down in pursuit of the truth, Matthew finds himself juggling an entirely different identity crisis: a potential run for Governor of Texas. The result is a heartfelt, chaotic and wildly funny story about friendship, family, fame and the messy line between myth and reality.

The ensemble cast starring alongside Harrelson and McConaughey includes Natalie Martinez, Brittany Ishibashi, Nolan Almeida, Ella Grace Helton, Noah Carganilla, Highdee Kuan, Oona Yaffe and Holland Taylor.

This summer, Jimmy Kimmel Live! welcomes a dynamic lineup of guest hosts, starting Monday, July 6. Tiffany Haddish will lead things off, hosting the week of July 6. She'll be followed throughout the summer by Anthony Anderson, Ike Barinholtz, Colman Domingo and Jelly Roll. Jimmy Kimmel Live! airs every weeknight at 11:35 p.m. EDT on ABC and streams the next day on Hulu.

With over 23 years on the air, Jimmy Kimmel Live! broadcasts from the iconic El Capitan Entertainment Centre on Hollywood Boulevard. Adam Pally HBO Comedy Special; Jimmy Kimmel Live! Returns with Huge Ratings

Comedian and actor Adam Pally (Happy Endings, Knuckles) makes his HBO Original comedy special debut in An Intimate Evening with Adam Pally, premiering Friday, October 17 (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET/PT). The special will debut on HBO and will be available to stream on HBO Max.

Equal parts stand-up, documentary, and rock concert, Adam Pally plays with the truth – and his guitar – in a one-time-only performance. Adam Pally is an actor, comedian, and writer known for his role as Max Blum on the cult-favorite ABC comedy Happy Endings. He earned a Critics’ Choice Television Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for his work on the series. Pally also starred in The Mindy Project, and has since appeared in numerous projects, including the Sonic the Hedgehog film franchise, the Knuckles spinoff series on Paramount+, as well as Peacock's Mr. Throwback, on which he also serves as co-creator and executive producer. Pally recently launched Staying Alive, a comedic health and wellness podcast co-hosted with longtime friend and collaborator Jon Gabrus. Pally and Gabrus previously co-hosted the truTV series 101 Places to Party Before You Die. Additional and upcoming film and television credits include O Horizon, Who Invited Charlie?, FUBAR and RUN.

Jimmy Kimmel Live! returned to Late Night on Tuesday with 6.26 Million Total Viewers, despite significant preemptions across 23% of U.S. TV households. Among Adults 18-49, Jimmy Kimmel Live! earned a 0.87 rating, representing the show's highest regularly scheduled episode in over 10 years — since 3/12/15.

In addition to linear ratings, the monologue has garnered more than 26 million views across YouTube and social platforms. • Meanwhile, Seth Meyers, whom we can probably assume will never get the chance to host The Tonight Show as one would have assumed when he initially took over a decade ago, is concerned that his show could be canceled at any time. (Deadline)
• In the ongoing saga of "streaming actually isn't forever," HBO Max has removed more Cartoon Network library series. (Deadline)
• The Flintstones turns 65 years old at the end of this month, and MeTV Toons is here to celebrate it. (Cartoon Brew)
• And then there were fewer: Spectrum, the cable company formed by the merger of Charter and Time Warner Cable (which had also been built from many, many smaller cable companies), is moving ahead in merging with Cox. (Deadline)
• The creators of South Park are putting Paramount (and incoming parent company Skydance) in a bit of a conundrum, as the show continues to bite the hand the feeds it (Paramount), it is scoring the highest ratings it has seen since 1999. (Deadline)
• The Jeffersons is about to get a new home on cable. (SitcomsOnline)

• After a 15 year "wait" (which wasn't really a wait, because we never expected it was returning), a new season of King of the Hill arrives Monday on Hulu.
• Catchy Comedy has a binge of Sanford & Son and The Royal Family (featuring all but one episode of The Royal Family) tomorrow.
• Appropriately, a new season of Wednesday comes to Netflix on Wednesday.
• It probably shouldn't even be a big deal when a new episode of a current season show airs, but after already a week off following a two year hiatus, South Park is back for a new episode on Wednesday.

MeTV Summer Changes, Adds Adventures of Superman; Jimmy Kimmel Live! Summer Guest Hosts

MeTV will be making some minor changes on the weekends this summer beginning in July. Adventures of Superman will return and air early Sunday mornings (late Saturday nights) at 12am & 12:30am ET replacing Kolchak: The Night Stalker. Just in time for the new Superman movie?

On Sunday mornings, the short-lived series The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams is replacing fellow short-lived series The Powers of Matthew Star at 6am. Then Sundays 7-10am E/I block is being swapped with Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom from the '60s replacing the '90s E/I sitcom Saved by the Bell, which has expired. All of this begins the weekend of July 5/6. Everything else for the summer of MeTV remains the same!

This summer, Jimmy Kimmel Live! will welcome a dynamic lineup of celebrities and comedians to guest host the show starting today - Monday, June 23. Fan favorite Diego Luna will kick off the summer as guest host this week (June 23). Anthony Anderson, Nicole Byer, Alan Cumming, Chris Distefano, Fortune Feimster, Kumail Nanjiani and Jelly Roll will also be hosting the late-night show later this summer.

Diego Luna's guests this week will include Patton Oswalt, David Corenswet, Nicholas Hoult, Emma Stone, Adria Arjona, Tiffany Haddish, Alan Tudyk, Ariela Barer, Heidi Klum and Dolores Huerta, with musical performances by NEZZA, Hermanos Gutiérrez, and Good Charlotte. Jimmy Kimmel Live! airs every weeknight at 11:35 p.m. EDT on ABC and streams the next day on Hulu.

The CW Fall 2024 Premiere Dates; Jimmy Kimmel Live! Guest Hosts for Summer

The CW Network announced its primetime premiere dates for the Fall 2024 season, including new and returning series and live sporting events. The CW's new fall season begins with the return of the Emmy(R) Award-winning weekly studio series Inside the NFL on Friday, August 30 (9:00-10:00pm ET/PT) with host Ryan Clark leading a panel of football experts to preview the upcoming 2024 NFL season. The college football season on The CW kicks off with a Pac-12 doubleheader on Saturday, August 31 when the Portland State Vikings visit the Washington State Cougars (3:00-6:30pm ET) followed by a primetime matchup between the Idaho State Bengals and Oregon State Beavers (6:30-10:00pm ET).

Season 4 of the global phenomenon The Chosen, chronicling the life of Jesus, will make its broadcast television debut on Sunday, September 1 (8:00-9:30pm ET/PT). The hit improv series Whose Line Is It Anyway? returns for a 13th season on Friday, September 6 with back-to-back episodes (8:00-8:30pm ET/PT, 8:30-9:00pm ET/PT). The NASCAR Xfinity Series makes its CW debut with a live race from the legendary Bristol Motor Speedway on Friday, September 20 (7:00-10:00pm ET). The next generation of WWE Superstars enter the ring when WWE NXT makes its live CW debut on Tuesday, October 1 (8:00-10:00pm ET/PT). Gather the family for game night on Monday, October 7 with the series premieres of Scrabble (8:00-9:00pm ET/PT), hosted by fan-favorite Raven-Symoné, followed by Trivial Pursuit (9:00-10:00pm ET/PT), with Emmy(R) Award-winner LeVar Burton hosting the competition. Amazon Freevee Orders The Pradeeps of Pittsburgh; ABC's 20th Anniversary of Jimmy Kimmel Live!

Amazon Freevee announced a greenlight for The Pradeeps of Pittsburgh, an Original comedy series starring Emmy nominee and SAG Award winner Naveen Andrews (The Dropout, Lost), comedian Sindhu Vee (Starstruck), and Tony nominee Megan Hilty (Smash, Patsy & Loretta). Inspired by the personal experiences of Emmy-nominated Vijal Patel (black-ish, The Middle), the series follows the Pradeep family and the humorous events of their first few months after moving to America from India. As told through hilarious (and often conflicting) flashbacks from an interrogation room, the Pradeeps quickly find themselves embroiled - romantically, personally, and professionally - with a polar-opposite neighborhood family, leading to a predicament with many surprising twists. The eight, half-hour episode series is produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon Studios. Writer Vijal Patel will also serve as showrunner and executive producer. Emmy winner Sara Gilbert, Mandy Summers, and Emmy winner Tom Werner are executive producers. Michael Showalter of Semi-Formal Productions is also an executive producer and will direct the pilot.

ABC's Emmy(R) Award-winning late-night show Jimmy Kimmel Live! will celebrate 20 years on Thursday, Jan. 26, and will air a special primetime anniversary episode that evening at 10 p.m. The episode will re-air in the show's regular 11:35 p.m. timeslot later that night. Jimmy Kimmel Live! premiered on Jan. 26, 2003, with debut guests George Clooney, Snoop Dogg and Coldplay. ABC Extends Jimmy Kimmel Live Through Season 23; Peacock Orders Animated Comedy

ABC announced that Jimmy Kimmel has signed a three-year contract extension to continue as host and executive producer of ABC's Emmy(R) Award-winning late-night talk show, Jimmy Kimmel Live! The extension will keep Kimmel on the network through a historic 23rd season, making him one of the longest-running talk show hosts in American television history. In addition to Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Kimmel is known for hosting back-to-back Oscars(R) ceremonies in 2017 and 2018, and The Primetime Emmy(R) Awards in 2012, 2016 and 2020. Kimmel is also the host and executive producer of ABC's Emmy Award-winning Live in Front of a Studio Audience specials with Norman Lear and currently serves as creator/executive producer of the hit Kelly Ripa-hosted game show, Generation Gap. He is also a yearly highlight at the annual Disney Upfront presentation.

Peacock announced the straight-to-series order of the streamer's first adult animated comedy In the Know. Mike Judge (Beavis and Butt-Head, Silicon Valley, King of the Hill), Zach Woods (Silicon Valley, The Office) and Brandon Gardner will co-create and executive produce. Judge and Woods will both star. Alongside Judge, Greg Daniels (The Office) and Dustin Davis executive produce for Bandera Entertainment. The series comes from studio Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, and executive producers Bandera Entertainment. Lauren Caspian is NPR's third most popular host. He's a well-meaning, hypocritical nimrod, just like you and me. He's also a stop motion puppet. Each episode follows the making of an episode of Lauren's show In the Know, in which Lauren conducts in-depth interviews with real world human guests. Lauren collaborates with a diverse crew of NPR staff. They are also puppets and nimrods.

Jimmy Kimmel Live! Summer Guest Hosts; Solar Opposites Returns July 13 on Hulu

For the third consecutive year, Jimmy Kimmel Live! taps a diverse lineup of celebrities, creators and comedians to guest host the show for the summer beginning tonight (Monday, June 20). Sean Hayes is set to guest host all of this week (June 20-23). Anthony Anderson, Nicole Byer, Al Franken, Jeff Goldblum, Chelsea Handler, Simu Liu, Rob McElhenney, Lamorne Morris, Desus Nice, Mark Rober, Kerry Washington and more are set to host throughout the summer. Dates will be announced at a later time for those guest hosts. Jimmy Kimmel Live! airs every weeknight at 11:35 p.m. EDT on ABC.

Hello, earthlings - it's been a while! To prepare for the upcoming Solar landing, check out the new catch up video and a first look at season three. The series returns to Hulu on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 with eleven episodes. Co-created by Justin Roiland (Rick & Morty) and Mike McMahan (Rick & Morty, Star Trek: Lower Decks), Solar Opposites centers around a team of four aliens who are evenly split on whether Earth is awful or awesome. Korvo (Justin Roiland) and Yumyulack (Sean Giambrone) only see the pollution, crass consumerism, and human frailty while Terry (Thomas Middleditch) and Jesse (Mary Mack) love TV, junk food and fun stuff. The 72nd Emmy Awards Nominations; Live with Kelly and Ryan Pays Tribute to Regis

Nominations for the 72nd Emmy® Awards were announced recognizing a host of groundbreaking new programs and up-and-coming talent, along with beloved performers and hit shows that have been integral in helping television viewers navigate a changing world. The live ceremony, reimagined as a virtual event due to production restrictions resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, was hosted by Supermarket Sweep star and Saturday Night Live alumnus Leslie Jones with presenters Laverne Cox (Inventing Anna), Josh Gad (Central Park), Tatiana Maslany (Perry Mason) and Television Academy Chairman and CEO Frank Scherma. HBO's Watchmen took the top spot for program nominations with 26 followed by The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (20), Ozark (18), Succession (18), The Mandalorian (15), Schitt's Creek (15), Saturday Night Live (15) and The Crown (13). Netflix lead the nominations in totals by platform with 160, setting a record previously held by HBO with 137 nominations in 2019. HBO had the second-most nominations with 107, and rounding out the top five were NBC with 47, ABC with 36 and FX with 33.

Half of this year's nominees for Outstanding Comedy Series are new to the category, including Dead to Me, Insecure, The Kominsky Method and What We Do in the Shadows. Returning favorites include Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Good Place, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Schitt's Creek. The Mandalorian is a newcomer in the Outstanding Drama Series category joining returning nominees Better Call Saul, The Crown, The Handmaid's Tale, Killing Eve, Ozark, Stranger Things and Succession. Ramy Youssef is new to the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series category, joining previous nominees Anthony Anderson, Don Cheadle, Michael Douglas, Eugene Levy and two-time Emmy winner Ted Danson. Nominees for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series include first-time nominee in this category, Linda Cardellini, who joins previous category nominees Christina Applegate, Catherine O'Hara, Issa Rae and Tracee Ellis Ross, along with 2018 Emmy winner Rachel Brosnahan.

Zendaya received her first-ever Emmy nomination, in the category of Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, while Emmy winner Jennifer Aniston and previous Emmy nominee Olivia Colman were nominated for the first time in this category. They join returning nominees Laura Linney and Sandra Oh, and last year's Emmy winner Jodie Comer. Jeremy Strong received his first Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series while former Emmy nominees Steve Carell and Brian Cox received their first nominations in this category, joining returning nominees Jason Bateman and previous Emmy winners in this category Sterling K. The 72nd Emmy Awards will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, who also serves as executive producer for television's biggest night. Recently announced executive producers for the telecast include Guy Carrington, Reginald Hudlin, David Jammy and Ian Stewart. The show will be broadcast, Sunday, September 20 from 8:00-11:00 p.m. EDT/5:00-8:00 p.m. PDT on ABC. The 2020 Creative Arts Awards will air on FXX on Saturday, September 19 at 8:00 p.m. EDT/PDT.

After sharing heartfelt remembrances on the Monday, July 27, episode of Live with Kelly and Ryan, hosts Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest announced that Live will honor the memory of former host Regis Philbin with an updated presentation of the Emmy® Award-winning "Regis Farewell Celebration Special" episode from Nov. 18, 2011. The special send-off celebrates Philbin's nearly three decades on Live and features favorite guests, musical tributes and Philbin's reflections on his years with the iconic morning program. Also, throughout the week, Live is sharing additional memories and favorite moments on the show's social and digital platforms.

ABC to Rebroadcast Live in Front of a Studio Audience: All in the Family and Good Times Episodes on Tuesday (July 7); Anthony Anderson and Billy Eichner to Guest Host ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live! This Week

Live in Front of a Studio Audience: ‘All in the Family’ and ‘Good Times’, the holiday-inspired live event that captivated audiences back in December, is set to rebroadcast on ABC, Tuesday, July 7 (8:00-9:30 p.m. EDT). Produced by Sony Pictures Television, Live in Front of a Studio Audience: ‘All in the Family’ and ‘Good Times’ recreates installments of Norman Lear and Bud Yorkin's Emmy® Award-winning series All in the Family and groundbreaking sitcom Good Times, created by Mike Evans, Eric Monte and developed by Lear.

All-star cast members taking on the famed All in the Family roles include Woody Harrelson, Marisa Tomei, Ellie Kemper and Ike Barinholtz reprising their iconic roles as Archie and Edith Bunker, Gloria Stivic and Meathead, along with Kevin Bacon as Pinkie Peterson, Jesse Eisenberg as David Brewster and Justina Machado as Teresa Bettencourt.

The December 2019 broadcast of ABC’s Live in Front of a Studio Audience: ‘All in the Family’ and ‘Good Times’ reached nearly 13 million Total Viewers on linear and digital platforms. In addition, the holiday-inspired live event, produced by Sony Pictures Television, averaged nearly 8 million Total Viewers after 35 days of viewing across all platforms.

Anthony Anderson (black-ish) and Billy Eichner (Difficult People/Friends from College) are set to guest host this week's broadcasts of ABC’s Emmy® Award-winning late-night talk show, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, which airs every weeknight at 11:35 p.m. EDT.

Anderson will guest host Monday and Tuesday. Eichner will handle Wednesday and Thursday. Scheduled guests this week include Anderson's black-ish co-star Tracee Ellis Ross on Monday, D.L. Hughley (The Hughleys) on Tuesday, Amy Schumer on Wednesday and Billy Porter on Thursday. Jimmy Kimmel announced last month that he was taking the summer off from the show to spend more time with his family. More guests hosts will be announced.

Pop TV Slates Date for One Day at a Time Animated Episode; Remembering Fred Willard of Modern Family, Everybody Loves Raymond and Fernwood 2 Night

Pop TV announced the One Day at a Time animated special will premiere on Tuesday, June 16 and include special guest stars Gloria Estefan, Melissa Fumero and Lin-Manuel Miranda. The critically acclaimed Sony Pictures Television series had its mid-season finale on Tuesday, April 14 due to production stoppages as a result of COVID-19. The animated special, titled, "The Politics Episode," will be fully executed remotely and premiere on Pop TV Tuesday, June 16 at 9:30PM ET/PT following a marathon of the current season.

Gloria Estefan and Melissa Fumero, both return to One Day at a Time, reprising their roles, but this time, they'll be animated. As for Lin-Manuel Miranda, he makes his debut on the series. The special will center around Penelope's conservative cousin Estrellita (Melissa Fumero), Tia Mirtha (Gloria Estefan), and Tio Juanito (Lin-Manuel Miranda) coming to visit and with the impending election, they won't be able to avoid fighting over politics. Produced by Sony Pictures Television, the award-winning comedy inspired by Emmy(R) winner Norman Lear's 1975 series of the same name tells the story of the Cuban American Alvarez family. The show features Penelope (Screen Actors Guild Award(R) winner Justina Machado), her mother Lydia (Emmy, Grammy(R), Oscar(R) and Tony(R) winner Rita Moreno), Dr. Berkowitz (Stephen Tobolowsky), Schneider (Todd Grinnell), Elena (Isabella Gomez) and Alex (Marcel Ruiz).

Actor and comedian Fred Willard appeared as Jerry Hubbard in Fernwood 2 Night and America 2-Night, as Hank MacDougall in Everybody Loves Raymond and as Frank Dunphy in Modern Family. He died on May 15, 2020 at his Los Angeles home. The cause of death was cardiac arrest. Mr. Willard was 86.

Willard's early sitcom guest appearances included Pistols 'n' Petticoats, Hey, Landlord, Get Smart, Love, American Style, The Bob Newhart Show, Karen, Good Heavens and Laverne & Shirley. He was a regular on the 1973 ABC comedy/variety series The Burns and Schreiber Comedy Hour.

He starred as District Attorney H.R. 'Bud' Nugent in the short-lived 1976-1977 NBC sitcom Sirota's Court. The series also starred Michael Constantine, Cynthia Harris, Kathleen Miller, Ted Ross and Owen Bush.

Willard starred as Jerry Hubbard, Barth Gimble's (Martin Mull) sidekick and announcer, in the Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman spin-off series Forever Fernwood (1977), Fernwood 2 Night (1977) and America 2-Night (1978). The Norman Lear created series parodied the nighttime talk shows of the day. It also featured Frank De Vol as bandleader Happy Kyne. Willard reunited with Mull in eight episodes of Roseanne from 1995 to 1997. He played Scott, a romantic partner of Leon Carp.

He played the bartender in the 1987-1989 syndicated sitcom D.C. Follies. The Sid and Marty Krofft created series was set at a Washington, D.C. bar and featured puppet caricatures of politicians and popular culture figures.

Willard had a recurring role as Hank MacDougall in 13 episodes of the CBS sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond from 2003 to 2005. Hank and Pat MacDougall (Georgia Engel) were Amy's (Monica Horan) parents. Willard received three Emmy nominations for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series in 2003, 2004 and 2005 for the role. The series starred Ray Romano, Patricia Heaton, Brad Garrett, Doris Roberts, Peter Boyle and Madylin Sweeten.

He starred as Jerry Stage in the 2001-2002 The WB sitcom Maybe It's Me. The series was centered on the life of teenager Molly Stage (Reagan Dale Neis) and her eccentric and often-embarrassing family, including her parents (insanely frugal mom, played by Julia Sweeney, and soccer-obsessed dad, played by Fred Willard), her two older brothers, her little twin sisters, and her grandparents. The series also starred Vicki Davis, Andrew W. Walker, Patrick Levis, Daniella and Deanna Cantermen, Dabbs Greer and Ellen Albertini Dow.

Willard starred as Fred Hawkins, the father of Ryan Hawkins (Eric Lively), in the short-lived 2003 Fox sitcom A Minute with Stan Hooper. The series also starred Norm Macdonald, Penelope Ann Miller, Brian Howe, Raegan Dale Neis, Garret Dillahunt and Daniel Roebuck.

He starred as Marsh McGinley, WURG's fairly dim-witted sports anchor, in the 2007-2008 Fox sitcom Back to You. The series also starred Kelsey Grammer, Patricia Heaton, Ayda Field, Josh Gad, Ty Burrell, Laura Marano and Lily Jackson.

Willard had a recurring role as Frank Dunphy, the father of Phil Dunphy (Ty Burrell) and grandfather of Haley (Sarah Hyland), Alex (Ariel Winter) and Luke (Nolan Gould), in 14 episodes of Modern Family from 2009 to 2020. In 2010, he received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for the role.

He will appear in the recurring role of Fred Naird, the Secretary of the Defense, in the upcoming Netflix comedy Space Force. The series, which will premiere on May 29, stars Steve Carell, John Malkovich, Ben Schwartz, Diana Silvers and Tawny Newsome. Interestingly enough, Willard starred as Captain Thomas Woods in a 1978 NBC unsold sitcom pilot called Space Force.

Some of his sitcom guest appearances in the 1980s and 1990s included The Love Boat, Mama's Family, Fast Times, Out of This World, The Golden Girls, Nurses, Married with Children, Dream On, The Jackie Thomas Show, Dave's World, Family Matters, The Mommies, Murphy Brown, Friends, Clueless, Sister, Sister, Step by Step, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Mad About You, Just Shoot Me! and Ladies Man.

He had a recurring role as Mike Morton in three episodes of the 2013 HBO comedy Family Tree. Some of his later sitcom guest appearances included The Hughleys, That '70s Show, The Drew Carey Show, Worst Week, Everybody Hates Chris, Raising Hope, Hot in Cleveland, Community, The Odd Couple (2016) and 9JKL. He won a Daytime Emmy Award in 2015 for his role as John Forrester in the soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful.

Willard was one of the original hosts of the NBC reality series Real People in 1979 and again from 1981 to 1983. He returned with Sarah Purcell to host a one-hour retrospective special on October 1, 1991. He hosted the 1985-1986 talk show What's Hot, What's Not. It earned him a daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Talk Show Host. In 1990, Willard hosted the cable TV show Access America on the Ha! Comedy Network.

He was well known for his roles in the Christopher Guest mockumentary films Waiting for Guffman (1996), Best in Show (2000), A Mighty Wind (2003), For Your Consideration (2006) and Mascots (2016). He played Air Force Lt. Bob Hookstratten in Rob Reiner's 1984 mockumentary film This Is Spinal Tap. He starred as station director Edward "Ed" Harken in Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2004) and Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues (2013).

Mr. Willard was a national treasure. He was a master at ad libbing. He could steal any scene with his deadpan delivery and impeccable comedic timing. We thank him for the many laughs and entertainment he brought us during his long career. He will be greatly missed.

All in the Family Cast Announced for Next Live in Front of a Studio Audience; Curb Returns Jan. 19

After their unforgettable live performances charmed audiences last May, all-star cast members Woody Harrelson, Marisa Tomei, Ellie Kemper and Ike Barinholtz are set to reprise their iconic All in the Family roles as Archie and Edith Bunker, Gloria Stivic and Meathead in Live in Front of a Studio Audience: All in the Family and Good Times, set to return to ABC on Wednesday, Dec. 18 (8:00 p.m. EST). Esteemed cast members joining the All in the Family cast include Kevin Bacon, Jesse Eisenberg and Justina Machado. This holiday-inspired live event produced by Sony Pictures Television will recreate installments of Norman Lear and Bud Yorkin's Emmy(R) Award-winning series All in the Family and groundbreaking sitcom Good Times, created by Mike Evans, Eric Monte and developed by Lear. Talent taking on the iconic roles featured in Good Times will be announced at a later date.

Curb Your Enthusiasm returns Sunday, Jan. 19 from 10:30-11:07 p.m., exclusively on HBO. Larry David is back - as Larry David - stumbling through one faux-pas after another in an all-new season of the award-winning, hit comedy series. As candid, unsparing and outrageous as ever, Curb Your Enthusiasm revolves around a fictionalized, gleefully misanthropic version of David as a ubiquitous camera chronicles the private, often banal world of this (relatively) public man. The series continues to prove how seemingly trivial details of one's day-to-day life - a cold cup of coffee, a stained shirt, a missing toothbrush - can precipitate a chain of misfortune to hilarious effect. Live in Front of a Studio Audience: All in the Family & Good Times on Dec. 18; NBC Orders More Superstore Episodes

Live in Front of a Studio Audience, the live broadcast television event that captivated audiences with its all-star cast recreating episodes of All in the Family and The Jeffersons last spring, is set to return to ABC on Wednesday, Dec. 18, with newly recreated, live installments of Norman Lear and Bud Yorkin's Emmy(R) Award-winning series All in the Family and groundbreaking sitcom Good Times, created by Mike Evans, Eric Monte and developed by Lear. The holiday-inspired live event produced by Sony Pictures Television, will reunite executive producers Norman Lear, Jimmy Kimmel, Brent Miller, Will Ferrell and Justin Theroux. Kerry Washington, who portrayed Helen Willis of The Jeffersons in the original special in the spring, will join as an executive producer.

ABC's Live in Front of a Studio Audience: Norman Lear's All in the Family and The Jeffersons was nominated for three Emmy Awards, and took home the prize for Outstanding Variety Special (Live). The premiere of ABC's Live in Front of a Studio Audience: Norman Lear's All in the Family and The Jeffersons on Wednesday, May 22, averaged 14.29 million Total Viewers and a 2.86 rating in Adults 18-49 across all platforms after 35 days of TV playback and reached 23.5 million Total Viewers for its original Wednesday broadcast and two encore airings on Saturday, May 25, and Saturday, Aug. 17. Much more information on the upcoming All in the Family and Good Times special is still to come, including full casting details. What we do know is that the special will air for 90-minutes, live, on Wednesday, Dec. 18, just like the special last spring. NBC has ordered four more episodes of its hit comedy Superstore, bringing the the season total to 22 episodes, just like its order the last few seasons. So far in its fifth season, Superstore is averaging a 1.2 rating in adults 18-49 and 3.9 million viewers overall in "live plus seven day" Nielsens. The season premiere has surged to a 2.8 rating in 18-49 and 6.7 million viewers to date when viewing on all platforms is counted, easily tripling the episode's next-day "live plus same day" 0.8 rating in 18-49.

Superstore stars America Ferrera, Ben Feldman, Mark McKinney, Lauren Ash, Colton Dunn, Nico Santos, Nichole Bloom and Kaliko Kauahi. The comedy centers around Amy, who recently was promoted to be the store manager and is the glue holding the place together, and Jonah, a dreamer determined to prove work doesn't have to be boring. Their fellow associates include the sardonic Garrett, the sweet and clueless Cheyenne (Nichole Bloom) and the perpetually dismissed Sandra. Also on the team are Glenn, who stepped down as manager in an attempt to have more family time, and Dina, the aggressive assistant manager who enforces Cloud 9 policy with an iron fist. Mateo was also part of the team, recently as the self-promoted floor supervisor, until being detained due to his undocumented status.
