Peacock Orders Animated Comedy In the Know; Not 1 But 2 Dexter Projects in the Works

In the Know - Caitlin Reilly, Charlie Bushnell, J. Smith-Cameron, and Carl Tart

Peacock announced today additional voiceover cast Caitlin Reilly (Loot, Hacks), Charlie Bushnell (Diary of a Future President, Percy Jackson and The Olympians), J. Smith-Cameron (Succession, Rectify), and Carl Tart (Grand Crew) have been cast to voice the streamer's first adult animated comedy In the Know. As previously announced, Zach Woods (Silicon Valley, The Office) and Mike Judge (Beavis and Butt-Head, Silicon Valley, King of the Hill) will also star. Mike Judge, Zach Woods and Brandon Gardner will co-create and executive produce. Judge and Woods will both star. Alongside Judge, Greg Daniels (The Office) and Dustin Davis executive produce for Bandera Entertainment in addition to Alexander Bulkley and Corey Campodonico for Shadowmachine. The series comes from studio Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, and executive producers Bandera Entertainment and Shadowmachine. In the series, Lauren Caspian is NPR's third most popular host. He's a well-meaning, hypocritical nimrod, just like you and me. He's also a stop motion puppet. Each episode follows the making of an episode of Lauren's show In the Know, in which Lauren conducts in-depth interviews with real world human guests. Lauren collaborates with a diverse crew of NPR staff. They are also puppets and nimrods.

Dexter: New Blood

Showtime announced it has placed a straight-to-series order for the new drama Dexter: Origins (w/t), to be executive produced by Emmy nominee Clyde Phillips, based upon the Emmy-nominated hit series Dexter that starred Emmy nominee Michael C. Hall. The network is also developing a new version of Dexter: New Blood, which depicts the ongoing emergence of Dexter's son Harrison. In addition, Showtime is exploring projects based on other characters from the Dexter universe, such as the makings of the notorious Trinity Killer originally played by Emmy winner John Lithgow.

Dexter: Origins (w/t) will dramatize young Dexter Morgan at the outset of his transition into the avenging serial killer he would become. Set in the Miami that was a hotbed of real serial killers of his time, the show will begin as Dexter graduates college to join Miami Metro, where he meets younger versions of many of the characters we came to know in the original Dexter. And, of course, the show will also focus on Dexter's family, including a very-much-alive Harry and a very formidable, teenage Deb.

Dexter: New Blood is a new incarnation of the 2021-22 drama that became the most-watched series in SHOWTIME history. The drama focuses on Dexter's son Harrison, who survived his tumultuous reintroduction with his father and flees to New York City where he must wrestle with his own violent nature and whether, like his father, he too is compelled to kill. Dexter: New Blood will explore the kinds of themes and scenarios seen in the original series on SHOWTIME but through a new lens.

ABC Extends Jimmy Kimmel Live Through Season 23; Peacock Orders Animated Comedy

ABC announced that Jimmy Kimmel has signed a three-year contract extension to continue as host and executive producer of ABC's Emmy(R) Award-winning late-night talk show, Jimmy Kimmel Live! The extension will keep Kimmel on the network through a historic 23rd season, making him one of the longest-running talk show hosts in American television history. In addition to Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Kimmel is known for hosting back-to-back Oscars(R) ceremonies in 2017 and 2018, and The Primetime Emmy(R) Awards in 2012, 2016 and 2020. Kimmel is also the host and executive producer of ABC's Emmy Award-winning Live in Front of a Studio Audience specials with Norman Lear and currently serves as creator/executive producer of the hit Kelly Ripa-hosted game show, Generation Gap. He is also a yearly highlight at the annual Disney Upfront presentation.
