MeTV Network Remembers M*A*S*H Finale on Veteran's Day; NBC Picks Up Blindspot, Chicago Fire & Chicago P.D. for 2016-17 Season
The MeTV Network (Memorable Entertainment Television) is showcasing one of the most powerful and riveting broadcast television events in history with "MeTV Remembers the M*A*S*H Finale," airing 7:00-10:00pm ET on Veteran's Day, Wednesday, November 11. The finale episode of M*A*S*H - "Goodbye, Farewell and Amen" captivated the country. It became the most watched dramatic television event in history with more than 120 million viewers tuning in to see how the 4077th wrapped up their last days of the Korean War. To commemorate this broadcast, MeTV has assembled several members of the cast and creators of M*A*S*H to share their memories of this landmark series and the historic finale. MeTV will broadcast these exclusive interviews along with the uncut series finale, together in a special three hour MeTV Network primetime event in tribute to our servicemen and women on Veteran's Day.
"MeTV Remembers the M*A*S*H Finale" special features the 2 1/2 hour series finale episode and new interviews with series cast and creators combined in one 3 hour special airing 7:00-10:00 pm ET on Wednesday, November 11. "MeTV Remembers the M*A*S*H Finale" originally aired on Sunday, May 3, 2015. The MeTV audience response was impressive, as the special increased the time period by 79% with A25-54, and improved 50% with most other major demos, according to Nielsen NTI ratings.
NBC has ordered a second season of its hit freshman drama Blindspot, the #1 new series of the fall in the 18-49 demo. With Sullivan Stapleton as an FBI agent who's not to be messed with and breakout star Jaimie Alexander now firmly established as a TV leading lady, Blindspot has proven to be both a ratings and critical smash. Since its Sept. 21 launch, the series has dominated its 10pm Monday timeslot in the ratings. In other NBC 2016-17 news, NBC has renewed popular dramas Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D. for the 2016-17 season. Chicago Fire will be entering its fifth season while Chicago P.D. will begin its fourth season. This announcement came at the network's party for the Chicago franchise, as new series Chicago Med premieres on Nov. 17.
